The Codmother Fish & Chips reviews
16 Possibly the best fish and chips I’ve ever had.
The fish was battered in a thick, crispy batter and the chips were thick and fresh, so delicious.
We got a cup of clam chowder too, they don’t use pork in their chowder. It was good, but I think the fried fish is their specialty.
It’s a permanent food truck with picnic tables outside, cute place for lunch or casual/early dinner.
When I say this was some of the best fried fish I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. It was crispy, light, flaky, meaty, hot, and absolutely delicious. And they didn't need to use a beer batter! As a Muslim I can't have beer batter so finding a place without beer batter was amazing and then for it to be so freaking good was out of this world.
The fries were also perfectly done with a delicious sauce on top
Absolutely delicious! It’s a little bit away from the main tourist attractions, but I’d say it’s worth making the walk over!
If you’re staying near Fisherman’s Wharf, I would say this is a must, specifically for to-go dinner. This was the best fish and chips I’d had in a long, long time, and it was a great treat to grab it and head back to the hotel.
Their service is friendly, but sometimes they have issues with taking plastic so BRING CASH! The shortest wait is 15 minutes, even if there’s no line.
I still say: worth it.
Very good place to get away from the crowd, but at the same time very close to the pier. The service is very good and the food very well made. The place is very nice and beautifully decorated. Quality/quantity/price very good.
Best fish and chips I have ever had! Made to order and the batter is crispy and the fish is fresh! Even the fries were the perfect crispy!
Average place for quick fish and chips. If you were in the area and wants something quick, this is the place.
Good fried fish, big plates, neither expensive but cheap. Add'l fries @7$ a bit too expensive
This place was packed on a weekend so my partner and I made a mental note to drop by on a weekday. Went on a Tuesday late afternoon and got a table. We shared the fish, chips and shrimp combo. The fish were fried to perfection - crisp outside and flakey on the inside. The fish was not dry at all. The deep fried shrimp was a nice touch and the fries were good. Would definitely go here again if I visit San Francisco again.
Goated Fish n Chips, Fried Calimari schmacks too, with great portion sizes for price, you cant go wrong.
Hole in the wall permanent food truck; legit fish and chips with large serving sizes! Chowder is super yummy but not pleasant for the lactose intolerant.
Large servings size 1 fish n chips can feed 2. Only bad things is its real greasy felt sick after eating it
Awesome fish and chips at an unexpected place. Permanent street vender trailer. If you want table service, this is Not the venue you are seeking. If you want tasty fresh and chips and are ok not having a pint with them, then this is your place.
Tasty to every bite. The fries were just okay. It's obvious that all their efforts went into the fish.
Not bad but once one have eaten fish in Mexico or Peru nothing tastes the same.
I ordered the combo, Shrimp ok, Fish was raw.
A not-to-be-missed chip truck in Fisherman's Wharf! Delicious, fresh fish, shrimp and chips and excellent value and portion size. The perfect spot for a quick bite while exploring the area!
