The Cork & Plough reviews
14The food was a little over priced. Wasn't that good. Was petty dry. Pulled pork was dry. My jalapeño burger was dry. The service was okay. Waiter caught an attitude when they thought i wasn't going to order an alcoholic drink.
NY Steak sandwich toughest I've ever had. Fries soft & mushy. They had ran out of prime rib sandwich.great.
Our server (RR 3RD) was pleasant, personable and thorough. His light-hearted humar was entertaining. Made our wait for food pass unnoticed. The food was top notch, Ribeye, sides and salad. The whole experience was well worth the money. Would definitely come back.
I don’t know why this place is only a 4.4. Should be at least a 4.6. The Farmers Burger was delicious with good sized strips of bacon. And the beet salad was so fresh that I ate most of it before the burger arrived. Good thing I was sharing all of this with my wife.
Delicious bar-style restaurant that I was lucky enough to pass by on my way from Pinnacles. I ordered the Farmhouse Burger and was not disappointed in the slightest! I do believe hunger is the best seasoning, but even without it, stopping to eat here is worth every penny!
My husband loved his pig and cow (or something like that) burger, and my son liked the farmhouse burger. I wasn't as impressed with those, but I liked the turkey sandwich I ordered. We liked the fries and onion rings. The ranch dressing for the salad wasn't my favorite, but my son said the ranch for the chicken wings was different/better.
Dear Chef,
You can cook, believe me, you can. You just need to find that inspiration again. Once you do, you will never serve again that pathetic excuse for a burger I got as my dinner. You will never use a 3 months old frozen beef patty that tastes like cardboard again. Just take fresh ground chuck, salt and pepper it and prep a dozen patties for the day. Use only fresh pulled pork and not that 5 times reheated pork paste you served last time. Your customer will thank you and you will be proud of your work. Oh and clam chowder came from a bag, didn't it? That would be the only reason it had so much salt in it unless the chef was trying to hide the horrible flavor of this prison style chow with just some "extra" salt.
Dear server,
Yes, you are new, yes you are nervous, but you could learn the menu and ingredients, offer iced water, familiarize yourself with today's specials and just follow standard blueprint of basic restaurant service.
Dear owner,
When Danny's food in your town tastes better than yours, you got a problem.
We stopped here during our Highway 1 road-trip. The food and the service was perfect for a very good price.
This place has potential, but needs figure out what it wants to be. The menu items are unimpressive. I ordered one of the specials and there was nothing special about it. Add a unique sauce, grill some onions, do something I can't just do at home with limited prep.
We were saying at a hotel, next to King City Grill, where I was hoping to have dinner. It turned out that they were only open for breakfast & lunch, and the door was closed & locked. However, a staff member opened the door, explained the closure, & recommended his other family owned business, The Cork & Plough. Some friends wanted to go elsewhere, but finally relented, & oh were we rewarded. This is some of the best food I have ever had, like very upscale & reasonably priced. The service was first class, & everyone enjoyed their meal, especially me & my excellently prepared steak & vegetables.
A wonderful place for lunch or dinner. Spacious, full bar and properly prepared food. Good service and great fries.we were verey pleased with our sandwiches and plan to return!
This is a place to enjoy, drink, eat and tell long stories!
May be one of the best in King City
Coctails are not what they used to be. I've been a regular for 5 years, the previous bartender was great. New bartenders don't measure properly (they'll overpour alcohol- im not there to get drunk I enjoy good drinks) they will substitute ingredients without asking. (I ordered a drink that's made with raspberries and instead of letting me know they were out, they made it with strawberries. It was horrible- just tell me youre out and ill gladly choose a different drink)
I still enjoy going for appetizers but it would be great if you tell your bartenders to stick to the recipe and measurements don't eyeball it please. Great place for lunch I still recommend friends to go here but not to expect a good coctail.
Hidden gem off the 101. Full bar, great local cocktails. Seasonal rotating menu. In house made desserts.
