The Crab Cooker, Newport Beach CA

One of my favorite places in the world. I always come back. The king crab legs are the best I've ever had. The most amazing seafood experience ever.

The Crab Cooker is almost back after a lengthy Remodel that I designed. Previous customers will be happy to know that its as much like it was as possible with some nice added features: accessible entries and new restrooms, patio dining and a brand new kitchen amongst other things. Be sure to come for the grand reopening scheduled for June 2021 and enjoy Orange County's only affordable family seafood restaurant!

I am surprised at reviewers saying good seafood at fair prices? Alaskan King Crab (hence the name Crab Cooker) just went up from around $36 to $46. Lobster went up as well. Waitress claimed is out of their hands, that the fish federation determines the price? Or something like that. Over priced, understaffed, a meal for 6 was over $400 and at the end each one in the party decided it was not worth it. Used to be tasty but now is mostly expensive! 30 years ago?

Ive eaten here since I was a baby.i love this place.the shrimp cocktails are outstanding.everything here is cool with all the sea creature decorations. CRAB COOKER RULLLLES!

Ive been going to this Crab Cooker since I've been a kid. Anyone know the re-opening date? I'm hungry!

Love this place for the memories with Delanie eating this delicious food from the Famous Crab Cooker, and the One who loves it aswell in the Future!

Best restaurant I have ever been to. Service is great and the fresh seafood is better than excellent.

The best seafood ever. The potatoes are amazing. We drive from Palm Springs every now and then, just to have lunch. Dont forget a piece of salt water Taffy on
the way out. I used to live on the penninsula when I was 21. That was when I started eating at the Crab Cooker I am now 65 and still love it just the same.

This is quite possibly the best seafood restaurant in Newport Beach. Yes, there is usually a long wait, but it is absolutely worth it. The halibut is excellent and grilled to perfection, the clam chowder is second to none and if you are in the mood for lobster, you can't go wrong.

Don't be fooled by the paper plates and plastic utensils, the food is top notch, the atmosphere is casual and the service is excellent.

Newport classic! Very nostalgic restaurant with even better food! A fun, casual place to eat. I usually get the shrimp and scallops with potatoes and cole slaw. Perfectly seasoned and seared. Their pototes are different and so delicious. Wait staff is always friendly. Great southern California seafood.

Smoked salmon and clam chowder are always winners for us. We don't usually dine in but it's always crowded!:)

It was good, not a whole lot of food but its sea food so I suppose its what you get. If I find one again I will for sure stop in

It's good enough value for money, shrimp scallops fish lobster all tasty, but don't expect ambiance. This is a blast to the past, a 70s style old oil paintings and quirky experience. BTW the clam chowder is the Red not the White!

Alaskan Crab Legs fantastic, Lobster fantastic, appetizers and Clam Chowder average. Short one server on our visit. Overall will be back.

Excellent food. Different atmosphere but awesome. I love this place. My fiancee too my son and myself here for dinner it was delicious.

I like the fresh seafood, great soap, good selection of seafood, great crab&shrimp cocktails, great atomsphere, long lasting popular Newport Restaurant, Very popular for everyone, Very nostalgic, Will miss the restaurant but will try it when the new one opens won't be the same as the old one oldest restaurant in Newport. Great to see the same wait staff still there. Great to the family still owns it.

Food was good, portions a bit small for a shrimp cocktail. But I am Mexican and our shrimp cocktail looks and is prepared so much different. I had a combination plate and that was good.
