The Crab Shack Long Beach reviews
17I liked it. Bought the seafood boil for $100 with crab legs and 3 other meats. It’s expensive but service was really nice and friendly. Food was good. Only complaint is price but everything is expensive these days unfortunately. Definitely would eat there again.
I really wanted to like this place but was a little concerned about cleanliness and menu prices - in which all seafood is market price - all seafood. A little worn down and not overly busy. I had the peeled shrimp with corn and it came in the plastic bag it was boiled in. You get a bib - and that’s a good thing because you’re going to get your hands into your entree sooner or later - it is a bit messy. Good wasn’t bad - just not exceptional.
I work for the city where this crab is located.and I was in full uniform and I went in and respectfully (didn't want to feel entitled) ask to use the bathroom it was an emergency and I even Pleaded with her (begging). She was so mean and rude and refused me.saying " bathrooms are for customers ". But there were NO customers in the place. I felt disrespected
It was our first time coming here I got to say the food is pretty good but for what the price that we paid I wish there was more shrimp and the crab legs that we ordered for 1 lb each it felt like it was a lot of money that we spent on it the flavor and seasoning was on point
Located in long beach, you can find the crab shack.
It’s one of those spot where you should be willing to get your hands dirty to eat good but they do bring you plastic gloves to wear if you’re not willing and they also provide you with a bib and wet napkins to clean up at the end.
Location:
Corner restaurant off busy streets with lots of street parking around, I don’t believe I saw a private lot for parking but everything in that area is walkable.
Ambiance:
Restaurant is pretty big with Indoor/outdoor dining. It’s not anything new or fancy but definitely clean and fits the food options.
Food:
Delicious! I was never a big fan of but this place was full of flavors and the selection of food was great. You order by the pound and you can mix seasonings per order and add tons of sides as well. They offer things like fish, crabs, potatoes, corn, and more. Everything came out hot and ready to eat within minutes.
Service:
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was Immediately greeted as I walked in, and sat down right away. My visit was during the week so it wasn’t busy at all, I’m not sure how weekends look like. Staff checked on us enough times to make sure we had everything but not too many were it was annoying lol
Definitely a good a spot to come have a meal with friends or family and have fun eating and making a bit of a mess.
Enjoy!
Bring from Arizona, I love me some fish boil when I'm close to the ocean. We stopped for lunch right when they opened and had three the item fish boil. Shrimp, mussels and crawfish, with potatoes, corn, and sausage. We took the spicy boil and it was delicious. Service was on point, our michelada perfectly made and the price was reasonable, considering the location. Well done!
My husband and I enjoyed our food. We had the snow crab and peeled shrimp and both were amazing. They give you plenty of food as well. The service was great. This was the best meal of our trip!
I had my food delivered and had ordered a lemonade and paid for it, and NO LEMONADE!? And basically was told that, it was Door Dash’s fault and there was nothing they could. (or WOULD) do! I was SOOOO frustrated!
The crab was on point! We got the medium heat and it was very spicy so if you don't like spice or can't do too much, id recommend mild heat! It was worth the money and overall great
Had Peeled Shrimp with Sausages in the Garlic Butter sauce and Clam Chowder. Both dishes were OUTSTANDING, Yvette provided EXCELLENT service. I NEVER ran out of water and did not have to ask.
Racial discrimination.
Only our table has a basket and wet towels in Boil Link Wrap lol. Even the small candy given when checking is not given to Asians only. Hahaha.
They told us to pack our table ourselves, but the other side brought boxes and tied them up ourselves?
Always a good time here. Mt kid gets to eat her favorite sea food and we always get a chance to enjoy it with friends.
Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. The atmosphere was welcoming. Every server did their job with pride and dignity.
We visited on a trip to LB. We had the seafood boil, noodles and garlic fries. All were soooo good! Probably the best boil we've had. Prices seemed reasonable and the outdoor seating was nice. Friendly service as well.
It was like being back on the East Coast the moment I walked from the corner onto their patio which is made like a boardwalk and into this beautiful restaurant that takes me back to the days when my mother took me to New Jersey with my sister to spend the day at the beach
My son had the softshell crab and fries and I had the garlic noodles that came with shrimp and sausage and my husband ordered the fish and chips
We drank water and order two of the strawberry and blueberry iced tea and they were great! As a diabetic I was not supposed to be drinking that stuff but it didn't bother me) sugar in it but it's natural which I think makes big difference
The server was funny attentive knowledgeable about the menu and caring about our needs as customers checking on us often and making sure we always had what we needed
Spoke with the official shift manager and she was lovely as well! The chefs do their job very well and it's been a long time since I've been to a shop that cooks fresh fish that good and I highly recommend it although with the tip it came out to be a $100 for three people it was well worth it
If we stay here in Long Beach again as we did for 35 years or so? I will be going here more often as it's very rare that I find a restaurant that's better than my own cooking and this was one of them a special little place you wouldn't expect to be that good but it's better I'll take pictures to add tomorrow
We’re from out of town & the food was delicious and waiters were really fast and great customer service, jade helped us and had excellent service skills would definitely eat there again when we’re back in town.
