The Futon Shop, Los Angeles CA

Came in the store to feel the futons and see my options. The sales rep Tyjuan was patient enough to show me around the store, answer my many questions, and offer me different customization options. I was searching for a futon to be my couch and discovered you can custom build a couch instead. I left the store with a travel size pillow to test out the wool, and bedding sheet set. Things i didn’t plan on purchasing but couldn’t resist. Prices are fair, services is excellent (esp nowadays where quality customer service is declining), knowledgeable reps, and the store environment was zen, inviting and air conditioned in this hot Sept weather. Will be back once I decide on my choice of living room sitting furniture. Definitely recommend visiting the store as you can place a feel to their online selection.

Purchased a futon which we’ve been sleeping on for the past 3 weeks, and it’s been so wonderful for my back! We came back today to purchase a beautiful solid wood frame to turn the futon into a sofa, and will definitely come back for more furniture. The sales staff were all incredibly knowledgeable, and made the shopping experience super fun.

Amazing buying experience and rock solid futon frame! Our last futon frame which we ordered online broke in a matter of months because it was made with cheaper wood, so we came here and got a real hardwood futon frame. We were in immediate need of a new frame so they sold us a floor model, which was very generous of them. Highly recommend and will come here for all future futon needs.

Suzy and Lee are the best! I’ve bought my hemp couch from them last year and now getting a tatami bed frame. We need to support more of these mom and pop shop that actually give good service to the communities. Thanks again futon shop!

I’m so thankful I stopped in to see the two nontoxic couches I was considering from The Futon Shop’s Natural Home line (the Modular & the Oslo). Precious greeted me warmly & promptly, helped me decide on cushion filler (we chose latex noodles & wool for softness & spring) & fabric (natural hemp linen). Then, both she & Susie were phenomenally-helpful as I created a custom Oslo sofa that mixed the beautiful exposed wood frame & open leg style of the Oslo with the shabby chic beachy vibe of the flanged-pillows of the Modular (we also ordered the couch deeper & wider, with higher back cushions since my family is tall). I also got both my kids the Tatami beds in natural with headboards. I was able to comfortably purchase everything on-the-spot because Precious & Susie were so helpful. They were also very kind & understanding since I just lost almost all of my belongings, including sofa and all our beds, to black mold caused by winter flooding and I needed to replace everything. It felt so good to be able to buy products that reflect my values & help me and my kids live in a clean environment without toxins since we are chemically-sensitive. Thank you so much Futon Shop for creating a sustainable, nontoxic line & for offering such wide variety in styles so that everyone can find a combination that feels just-right. (The couple that walked in after me wanted what seemed to be the exact-opposite combination of features in a couch and Precious was able to help them just as well as she’d helped me.) Great experience. Adding a photo of the couch I “created” — picture the whole thing in white hemp linen (no blue). Perfect mix of styles. I couldn’t believe they could make it for me! (Those are Modular flanged cushions on an Oslo sofa base. Of course, my cushions will be made to fit the dimensions of the sofa I ordered. In this pic, they’re a bit big as I swiped them off their Modular floor model.) Ps. I will follow up with a pic of the finished sofa when it arrives.

I love this store. I bought my 3rd mattress from there and they are super helpful, very patient and aim to get you the right mattress or whatever other things you might need. Drove all the way from Woodland Hills to get our Okinawa futon! We drove this far for the furniture quality! We have one happy kid over here!

Precious assisted me with my order of a Tatami Bed via phone. Quick and easy and answered all of my questions.

The floor sales person is knowledgeable and helpful. However, the company does not honor the return/exchange policy stated by their own staff. When you call them, you don't get connected to the store but to a call center. Their response to my request for an exchange was: " This sales person is new, part-time and temporary. What she has been saying to our customers is inaccurate. Please email your request and we'll consider an exception". I emailed and their immediate email response was " your order does not qualify for a return". They show heavily discounted prices (-75% discount) but if you shop around, those are market prices. There are many futon stores, I recommend to futon shoppers to shop elsewhere.

I highly recommend The Futon Shop in Los Angeles (on West Pico Blvd @ Westwood Blvd). The quality of the futon is what I was looking for and the price was very reasonable. Precious, the person who assisted me over the phone and then in-store to finalize my purchase, was incredibly patient, helpful and kind. The whole experience was wonderful and I'm thankful to the store and to Precious for such a great experience. Now, I can get a much good night's sleep on the beautiful futon I got! Yes!

Almost fell asleep in here. The sales man showed us the movable base of the bed and it was so relaxing. Definitely sold us on this one.

We had a wonderful experience shopping at the Pico store. Very knowledgeable and patient staff and great selection of natural and organic mattresses. Highly highly recommend. Precious was simply the best. Will definitely be shopping here again.
