Today was a great day for me. I had an amazing appointment with Zac at the Torrance good feet store. I walked in with my feet, ankles and knee pain. Zac took his time to help me find the perfect combination and a perfect solution to my feet problem. I am so ever grateful to him for spending all the time I needed. I look forward to him helping forward in the future.

Zac was extremely helpful in refitting my arch supports. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and really took the time to make sure the supports were comfortable and corrected a problem I was having following ankle surgery.

Soooo…I tend to take my elderly parents shopping with me to get them out of the house. I called my mom and suggested that she come with me to replace my shoes. My mother recommended The Good Feet store because she knew about my knee problems. I was hesitant because I read the variety of reviews and I wasn’t looking to spend a ton of money. I just needed some good tennis shoes. I was open to orthotic shoes though. I had not gotten as far as to think of just orthotics. So, I called the store and Penelope answered. Penelope was the beginning of a phenomenal experience. She was patient with me over the phone and answered all my questions (and I had a lot!). I knew upfront how much their main product would cost, but I also knew they had some quality sneakers. So, I figured it was worth a shot. Penelope walked me through the product and was consistently careful to ask about my needs and limitations. She was honest about the orthotics information she knew and the medical information that might be better checked with a doctor. She gave me suggestions, but also acknowledged when certain solutions might not work for everyone. I ultimately ended up really liking the product, but since I hadn’t planned on getting it at that exact moment, I communicated that I would wait for a bit and check in with her. I instead ended up taking one of the many pairs of shoes that she helped me with in order to get the right pain-free fit. I also bought the Good Feet insoles to start with in the meantime. I even grabbed some Wide socks that my elderly father could use.

The result: I love my sneakers and my feet don’t hurt anymore (my old ones were too small). My knee (torn meniscus) feels more supported. My dad even wants to go back and try the whole process to see if it might help him with his hip/back pain and gait. He lovessss the socks because they don’t cut off his circulation. He raved about how they actually have quality socks because they are designed the old school way where the left sock is specifically shaped for the left foot and the right sock for the right foot (so your toes aren’t squished like they are with the socks that are indistinguishable in socks packs).

Why did I buy instead of just going over to Nike? Penelope was the 5-star of customer/client specialists. She presented the product, but never once did she pressure me. She let the product speak for itself…and the Good Feet product does. It makes sense that it might not work for everyone. You have to do what’s best for you and you might have a medical issue that isn’t compatible with the product. I think what was important for me though was that it felt safe enough to go there and try the product without getting trapped in a sales pitch. Penelope stayed aware of our timeframe (I had to get back to my dad) and when, instead, we decided to take longer to make the decisions, Penelope adjusted to our needs in that way too. She was forthright, professional, and responsive. It is obvious that there is a sales structure, so I think what made the experience worthwhile was that, in addition to the product being a potential solution for my feet, Penelope understood us at the human level. I felt like I was talking to THE store manager. So, now the Good Feet has a lifelong customer…no matter when I decide to try the orthotics, I will be going there for shoes, insoles, dad’s socks, etc…as long as Penelope is working there…I can get the items I need hassle free.
(She should honestly be the one training the other reps.) Whether we buy that very second or not, the customer’s experience should always be stellar and we should always be able to recommend that the store is worth a try (or worth a conversation with your podiatrist or orthopedic specialist). I can say that it is definitely worth a try.

Zach was terrific at explaining the whole process and patiently helping me with measuring and also trying on different shoes, and explaining the socks options. I walked out w new sneakers that I desperately needed for balance and comfy fit for my arthritic swollen feet! Penelope also very helpful in explaining products.

Definitely a stop, I work healthcare on my feet all day. The customer service by Jose was awesome, he listened to me and knew how to get rid of my foot pain that was causing me to limp. Jose helped me pick out socks, inserts, and recommended shoes. Immediately wearing the inserts My back adjusted and my knees felt better. It’s a hidden gem that provides immediate relief!

Penelope was lovely and attentive. The inserts cost more than I was expecting. Unfortunately I had back pain beginning. Wearing the inserts seemed to exasperate the pain, so I stopped. Another issue I had is the changing from on insert to another. TMI for me. Remembering how long and which insert to use seemed too much for my 70 year old brain. I won’t be starting again until the back pain abates so have no other info for you.
