The Grain Cafe

I ordered the Grain Meal and it was disappointingly terrible. The carrots tasted like they were drenched in vinegar, the kale was soggy, and the rice and beans were pretty flavorless as were the veggies. I wish I wasn’t poured the tahini sauce because it ruined it. For $17, I thought it was going to be a lot better. Sad.

The Carrot Cake slice was AMAZING! Very good. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from this vegan treat, but I'M HERE FOR IT!

The only downside was the green part of the frosting, it had a bitter taste to it I didn't like, but everything else was perfect. The orange frosting and the slice itself was moist heaven! I usually have cake with milk but I didn't need any with this slice since the cake was already super soft and the milk made it completely gushy.

Tip: Eat this w/o milk if you don't want mushy gushy cake in your mouth.

This made a great morning snack!

I'll stick to the desserts here. The Vegetable Pizza didn't have the best taste and I barely finished it. The base was grainy. Whatever they used for the dough, I didn't like it. The veggies were good, warmed and crisped nicely, but without a tasty foundation it doesn't make a difference. Daiya cheese was also heated up nicely. There was good cheese-pull action happening. But that dam dough. Grainy and unenjoyable.

Is this mexican vegan? The menu is large but has option that belong on greek or asia fusion menu in addition to other food cultures. I don't like "CATCH ALL" menus. Stick to Authentic foods & perfect that. My vegan nachos had no culinary presentation or mystery about taste or Ingredient. I could have made these at home but made them better. I go to restaurant to have food experience that makes you want to come back. I should have kept driving when i seen the graffiti on the building. The service provided by the staff was good & the reason it got 2 stars instead of 1. Also lets be clear this not an authentic vegan food just a restaurant chain jumping on the vegan trend to captialize financially. Bring in a qualified chef to design a menu and train cook/kitchen staff to prepare great vegan dishes with a mexican flare.

Around $17 got me the grain bowl (add avocado) with a much needed protein (and pretty much everything) boost. Everything there is vegan? !? !? Maybe? Hard to believe. Delicious food, beautiful place and beautiful people. Be vegan!

The food is pretty amazing and the service is one of a kind. They have an awesome menu and their prices are very affordable.

I love love love the grain cafe! The food is so good! Let me explain why I gave them only 2 stars. I order take out from the grain cafe at least twice a week. Sometimes it's even 3 or 4. I always order the same things and I end up spending around 30-50$ a week here. This is where the 2 stars come in. I have an issue with asking for hot sauce and being looked at like I'm crazy. I ask for 1 or 2 hot sauces with my order sometimes 3. One employee in particular always gives me a crazy look when I ask for hot sauces. It doesn't feel good to be looked at that way for asking for hot sauce after spending 20 plus dollars on one meal. I hope they see this review and fix their attitudes about the hot sauces.

I was about to bonk while on a bike ride and The Grain Cafe was on my route. Had the berry smoothie and shared a the club sandwich. Both of which were tasty. All ingredients were fresh and was very satisfied with their service. Left a generous tip because they deserved it. I highly recommend!

Good size portions, great prices, and AMAZING menu! So many options its overwhelming. Definitely my new favorite place to eat.

There’s a worker that is so excellent and great and his name is Stan and he provides excellent service to everyone I really love his service and if he was to leave idk how this place will end up and Edwin too he is also a great worker and a great teammate with Stan and I can’t ask for anyone better than these 2 keep up the great work Stan!

I like this cafe a lot but my deluc burger was on bread that was on the dry almost stale side. That being said only 1 visit that was so great out of 5 so I'd still recommend it.

They've changed the recipe for the strawberry almond cake which used to be my fav cake of all time. But this time, I found the frosting too buttery and the cake was very plain. The food is always great though. The Grain Cafe remains one of my fav spots.

This was my first time eating at The Grain Cafe. My friend and I shared the chilaquiles w/mole & soyrizo which was both of our favorite entree very delicious! We also had the breakfast burrito which was good, but could use more flavor forsure. Lastly, we had the tropical crêpe to end with something sweet. It was tasty and refreshing, only complaint is that the crêpe was kinda hard to cut. For beverages we got the pineapple ginger lemonade which was very delicious. The wellness shot was very intense and flavorful, but we could not finish that because it was too strong and I would have suffered had I finished that. Very strong mix of flavors, the taste lingers in a bad way (in our opinion) definitely not for everyone. Overall, the service was amazing and we would definitely come back to eat here again (:

I love getting lunch at this place. I've been ordering from them through GrubHub for many years now but lately started also dining in which is nice. My favorites are the home made veggie burger and the "tuna" melt when I'm in the sandwich kinda mood and the Chile relleno when I feel like having a hot entre.

Customer service wonderful. Order a Berry Antioxidant smoothie:
strawberries blackberries, blueberries, bananas, Goji berries, golden berries, dates and pomegranate juice. $8.95
Also order a Classic Waffle/ blackberries spread, powder sugar and whipped cream. $7.95
Both items were good. Definitely like to try more items when we get to this area again.

Solid vegan food, good happy hour. Would go back! Got the Ruben sandwich which was very tasty. Reasonable prices too! Good outdoor seating area, well shaded and comfortable.

This was my first experience with vegan food and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't miss the meat at all. I am starting a new journey and The Grain Cafe will definitely be the start to a new healthy beginning.

Highly recommended by a friend so I went to lunch there for the 1st time earlier this week. Lovely staff, my server was wonderfully polite. Unfortunately fir him, the kitchen didn't send my order till 45 minutes after I'd ordered by which time 2 sets of guests who'd arrived after me, had been served and paid and left. I'm sure this was an aberration and the server apologized profusely and even offered the meal for free. Which I refused since it was no fault of his, and probably simply the kitchen somehow overlooking my order somehow. Nonetheless, it was off-putting. My friend still recommends I give them another chance and try them out again, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. Food was a little soggy by the time I got it but it may just have been that I was put off by then. 3 stars pending another visit at which time I hope I can revise my assessment

Excellent, Delicious, Tasty!

I came here today with my family and we LOVED every lit bit about The Grain Cafe, from the pretty, colorful ambiance to the incredible food and service! I had the Coco smoothie, which was lighter than I expected. I thought it would be more like a "milk" shake, but I appreciated that it was lower calorie than a shake would have been. It was sweet and delicious and left room for the gluten free Reuben I ordered, which was so tasty I could eat one everyday! Even my picky-eater, nephew, who was sitting next to me wanted bites. We were 5 adults with a toddler and we all loved the food and drinks!

The food was good first time in a vegan restaurant! On service wise I waited so long to order a drink. When I finally ordered my drink and meal my beer never came! How can you have tacos without beer. On the bright point of view the tacos taste good can complain.
