The Independent reviews
6Last month I was there with my old friends gang to have a fun night. Indeed It was a great fun and an amazing experience. I find beverage prices are quite reasonable and the staffs were great. We had some issue with a chair and they immediately came to us and changed with another one. Good caring bartenders, great music and nice beverages enough to prove this is the best place. I would definitely recommend The Independent.
It's like an outdoor venue with the airflow in there. Sound was goodish. The crowd at the perimeter was enjoying a plethora of conversations during the show. Location, location, location makes this central and unparkable.
Just went to try and see Dr. Dog here. Went on the website and no where does it say it’s 21+ only. Didn’t find out tell I got to the venue and they didn’t let me in. I think it’s pretty ridiculous in the first place that you have to be over 21 to see a concert, but at least have the decency to put it up on your website front and center before someone buys there tickets online only to not be let in because they weren’t informed of the policy. Let’s just say even once I’m 21 I won’t be coming here ever again to see a concert.
Only been here twice, but both time were great. Saw Mueller, She Wrote podcast (seated) and Shakey Graves (GA, standing) and had a blast both times. Highly recommend attending a show here.
This is one of the best venues there is in SF. An intimate stage, friendly staff, and always incredible musicians coming through. Pictured: Organ Freeman
I love the sound and the bar at this venue! Great shows too! Staff is all friendly - the parking in this neighborhood is one of the worst in SF in my opinion. Spent 45 minutes looking once and almost gave up and forfeited the tickets; it worked out, but it sucked. This is no fault of the venue
