I’ve been wanting to visit for years. The decor was magical, the service was impeccable, the food was delicious. I highly recommend going if you’re in the area.

It felt a bit uncomfortable as if they were urging me to leave as soon as there was a wait. I like the restaurant view

Agree with other reviews that say it’s overrated. Restaurant/ambiance is very nice. Would get a 5 on its own. Food would get a 3.5. But the service is some of the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. Not attentive. Didn’t check in. Dropped off check with out saying anything or making eye contact. Waiters gossiping and talking unprofessionally about guests.

Beautiful ambiance. They decorated with natural flowers at each table. The wait staff was excellent! The place is small but food was good. Drinks are well served

Beware! "pushy server strategy. "
I was invited by my best friend and considering that I just had a full breakfast I was having a hard time deciding what to order. So I ordered a green juice while sitting in the patio with my buddy. Upon ordering my juice ($15 for half glass lol) the pushy server was very persistent and a bit repetitive while asking if we'd like to order something else. I said I was going to wait after drinking my juice to see if I'd order anything else because I was a bit full. He emphasized immediately saying that it was required order a meal from the menu and suggested that it had to be the fruit plate "At Least" which was $30. (Not knowing that was the price) I said yes but cancel my juice (Since I've been required to purchase from the menu) Either.he didn't listen to me or ignored me I ended up with both. I felt awkward for it being the first time with my friend who was inviting me and trying to meet standards as a patron at this place. My order was a total of $55 including the tip for fruit. Geez. Not sure if the place needs to address this differently or if it was my server who was biased me upon ordering. But the pressure was uncomfortable even though the server kept on saying "sorry" for the information to convince me that it wasn't a personal suggestion but THEIR GUIDELINES TO BE SERVED. Dissatisfied and discouraged to go back with light appetite or just never go back but I work with celebs so it could be a slight chance I'll be back. I felt quite offended with this type of policy and let me tell you the place is too small. Pretty pretentious. Not even the free champagne made it up. Disgusted!

This place deserves more than a 5 star rating. The interior smells like fresh flowers and there’s a bouquet on each table. The crab cakes were a great appetizer. Unfortunately, we couldn’t try anything else as my girlfriend became violently ill. Before she became physically ill, a server brought cookies in an attempt to settle her stomach and relieve a headache. I’ve never had service like that at a restaurant. Because the bathrooms were occupied, a mess was made on the floor near our table. The waiters quickly cleaned it and helped us to an Uber. We will be back on another trip to taste the delicious smelling foods and pretty drinks.

Incredible experience in a beautiful setting. The LA Gimlet with passionfruit was chef's kiss.

So…. Four years ago, I had written a great review about this spot that my family has spent so many memorable moments at. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries holidays here however, it seems that the owner has lost his mind and thought I was some sort of lowlife and treated my friends and I in the nastiest way I have ever been treated anywhere. He was very discriminatory towards my 2 friends and I and did not recognize me even after years of patronage to his restaurant, and after we complained about something, not being quite right on one of the dishes, he said he knew what kind of people we were (We are Hispanic Americans, who live around the area and can definitely afford to eat there and if his mind was serving him correctly, he would remember us and know that as he’s known my entire family for years!) he told us “he knew what kind of people we were” and that he would buy us our drinks, and that we needed to get out immediately, and he proceeded to throw us out. We acted with complete decorum and class, despite his completely offensive racist and derogatory comments and attitude to us, which were completely uncalled, for we behaved in a completely decent manner. Unlike him, I would highly recommend you DO NOT GO HERE!

My husband could not truly believe it so, we went together with our children which are 7 and 10 years old. (this was me really trying to be the bigger person and take into consideration that the owner is getting quite old and give him the benefit of the doubt and I was definitely wrong to do so) The manager called us into the stairwell and told us we were not allowed to dine there!
It was completely ridiculous. I cannot even express the humiliation and disappointment I have after all these years of patronage shame on you Richard. What a disgusting experience! What a disgusting place and what a sad excuse for a restaurant you have now and you should be ashamed! When I had written that nice review almost 9000 people had read it. Sadly I had to completely rewrite it to reflect my current feelings.

The most beautiful place we've ever eaten brunch. It's like you're dining in a garden. But with constant fresh flowers and no bugs. Food and service were phenomenal. You pay for the experience, but it's worth it for a special occassion.

One of my favourite places when visiting LA. The patio, flowers and ambiance is soothing.
Service is good, could be better at times but the high quality food makes up for the service shortfalls.

The ivy is good every single time. You might have to wait a little past your reservation time but it's always worth the wait. The decor is so nice. It's what I expect a bridal shower to look like. Fresh vibrant flowers all the time, I love it here. The food is consistently good. I always get the lobster pasta with an extra side of sauce. I think the extra sauce really takes it to the next level. The chicken enchiladas are fire & very authentic. I don't drink alcohol but the passion fruit mocktail mojito is so top tier. & the scones, I literally dream of them.

Honestly? Overrated. Service was a little subpar. The only table worth sitting at are outdoors and close to flowers. Indoors, the a/c was busted so it was sweltering, very dimly lit, and we were sat by a window that looks towards a gutter. Food wasn't terrible but just not worth that price of admission. For four of us, we spent over $230 before tips. Go somewhere else if want value for money. This is mainly a Instagram brag restaurant.

My review used to be 5 stars, Richard Irving and Lynn von Kersting, but now it isn't.

And here's why.

Because I'm Alex Bettencourt, of the L'Oréal Bettencourts, (reviewing on my friend Eric's account because he was my guest that day your staff embarrassed the both of us).
I made my reservation days ahead of time for the central 4 top table, but when I arrived perfectly on time, your maitre d wouldn't even look me in the face because he saw a single person, I can only surmise, and refused to seat me "until my whole party arrived". He never even looked up from his shoes.

Then, some other bloke in your staff dumped me on one of your hopelessly vacated sidewalk tables and I smiled and handed him a hundred dollar bill and asked him if I could please sit at my reserved table over on the patio, upon which he squealed with delight and took me straight over.

Then my guest arrived directly.

Then I proceeded to give 20 dollar tips to every server, bus boy etc every time they came. Need a glass refill? Tip. Clear a plate? Tip. Answer a question? Tip. Deliver my cookies? Tip.

And lastly, after our dessert, I smiled kindly and walked over to your maitre d and gave him a $200 tip and made sure he remembered me.

The Bible says: bless your enemies and in doing so, heap hot coals upon their heads.

He did finally look me in the eyes then. But he wasn't smiling when he realized his mistake.

I'm your exact age, Richard, and I've eaten here since before this kid was even born.

Get rid of him.

This restaurant is RACIST. Yesterday, it was my birthday, and we asked the waiter for the bill four times, even asking different people, but no one came for a long time. We waited for almost half an hour until a neighboring table of white customers was asked for their bill, and at that moment, I tried to ask again. They immediately brought the bill to the white table but didn't give it to us. I immediately accused the waiter of racism and asked for the manager. However, the waiter explained that they were busy and forgot. How could they forget something we asked for four times? And why did they only remember the bill for the white table at that exact moment? This reason is absurd. They even refused to call the manager, claiming the manager wasn't present. I left my contact information, but no one actually contacted me. A very poor restaurant experience with terrible service. Avoid such a discriminatory restaurant!!!

The food is mediocre, the waiters are cold and indifferent. The bill came with the dessert and they started to tidy up the shop. They began to stack the cushions on the side table. An unnecessary place that is exaggerated just because of the location and famous visitors

Amazing food and amazing service, we ordered a lobster roll, but wanted the lobster warmed up, and the chef had no problem with it, which was a major plus, the waiter was amazing, the soft shell crab was incredible, and very clean restrooms as well. Definitely recommend!
