The Jerk Spot Jamaican Restaurant reviews
16They have really good food. You taste all the flavor, the meat is juicy. If you like spicy food you should try the curry goat.
Hate to be negative Nancy, but I’m not a fan. I ordered the curry goat. Didn’t come with festival bread so that was disappointing. The curry was spicy (which is fine), but it wasn’t flavorful and neither was the rice. I had to add seasoning to both. Now the curry chicken patties are great! I had to go back and get a second one! Hence, the three stars. I will go back and try the jerk chicken because the service was great. The young lady working the front register was very nice.
The best jamaican food in california and on the westside everyone is professional I will recommend this restaurant to anyone they should be 10star. They
The jerk chicken was dry and undercooked, still pink by the bone. I am used to having it falling off the bone. The rice and veggies were good. We won’t be going back.
Wonderful place, went there after work just to get some beef patties. They were nice and and wonderfully spiced, visit please and try it for yourselves. Well worth it.
Don't forget to ask for utensils if you order delivery because they will give your courier a hard time about it. Just shameful. The wings were big and disgusting. Gave an extra star for the excellent beef patty. Just go Annie's Soul Delicious where you're treated like gold.
Found this spot accidentally. Good service and my take out order was prepared quickly. Looking forward to going back. The patty was delicious.
Authentic and delicious family owned Jamaican restaurant. I got the jerked chicken with dark meat option (it's dry rub barbecued). Quick service, generous portion, and very reasonably priced.
It was a bit warm in there so I got it to go. Tons of parking in the lot. Definitely worth checking out. Expect to pay $15-20 per person and be stuffed! I will be coming back!
Food was flavorless… still ate it because we were so hungry coming home from the beach and no sooner do we get home and we’re in the bathroom! So not only did we pay almost $100 for flavorless food but it also made several of us sick. Family of 7.
It is an island Flavorful # Extra spicy off the meter. Rice and peas is authentic. I recommend you eat from Escovished @ (market price) based on size of fish to the curries. Consistent great dishes from the Three or more Chefs. Also seasonal items in the food case It is a five GEM Star restaurant. Visit Again
I just wandered in for some beef patties, and my nose brought my memories back to the Jamaican restaurants I knew in Florida. This place is not fancy. But the food smells great, and the beef patties were delicious. I'm coming back for a real meal!
So happy to find another spot that is convenient and serves excellent jerk chicken true to Jaimaican cuisine, I will return!
Jamaican restaurant with tasty food and generous portions. Came here on a Saturday around 6pm to get takeout prior to a concert. I got the dark meat chicken plate with came with rice, plantains, and salad. The food was ready in less than 5 minutes after I paid. The meat was very tender and the dark sauce that came on the side was savory and very tasty. I really liked the plantains, as they were soft and sweet.
There’s a small shared parking lot, and street parking is also available. Credit cards accepted. It seems to primarily be a takeout spot, as the tables inside seemed to be for waiting for your order. Overall, it’s a chill spot to grab some Jamaican jerk chicken for a reasonable price.
Don’t be discouraged by the location or decor of this humble dive spot. Best jerk chicken I’ve ever had! I had the jerk chicken plate which came with rice and beans, plantains, cabbage/veg and spicy jerk sauce. Very generous portion, it was enough for two of us.
I'm Jamaican, born and raised and I know good Jamaican food. Their food is excellent! Best jerk chicken I've had in LA. The food is always fresh, served hot, and the presentation is lovely. The place is small but they have a number of tables and chairs for in-house dining. The place is super clean, even the restroom is immaculate. The patty and coco bread is heavenly! I haven't had every single dish on the menu, but everything I've had so far has been delicious. Their fried plantains are done to perfection! Their reggae bread (or as us Jamaicans call it 'festival') is AH-MAZING! I've been coming to this place since they opened in summer 2014 and they've never disappoint. Look, I know Jamaicans typically have a bad rep when it comes to customer service and friendliness. I admit it, it's true in many cases but not all. The folks at this restaurant may not be over the top friendly, but they are by no means rude. And especially to customers. When I first met the female cashier, I thought she was unfriendly too, but she's not. Each time I went there and talked to her she would come out of her shell a little more. I think she's just shy. People shouldn't be that quick to judge. I 1,000% recommend this place! AND compared to many Jamaican restaurants in and around that area, their food is very reasonably priced.
