A must do in the Ventura area! My husband and I came on our way back from Santa Barbara and brought a picnic. You can shuck your own oysters, be sure to bring your own knife and glove! Really fun experience and clean beach.

Cute little spot with fresh oysters & great views. Came here for a relaxing sunset one Sunday night & will definitely be back!

One word: amazing! Combination of the sound of the waves, the beach, the picnic tables, freshly caught incredibly delicious oysters, steamed clams, yummy ceviches, a hip vibe. Bring your cooler with your white wine, cold beer and your great attitude that is ready for an alternative outing and you are all set! The only bummer is that it closes at 6 right around sunset but it is understandable.

In times of a dire need to get away and escape the bustle city life, take a quintessential trip towards the coast line to enjoy some seafood. In doing so, you'll witness a true one-of-a-kind experience. The Jolly Oyster is settled within the San Buenaventura State Park and requires a $10 entrance fee. This fee can be taken full advantage of the park including beach access, an area to rent bikes, a walk trail to the pier even.

This restaurant provides superb service and yummy menu. My favourite restaurant around town. The drinks and food served fast and the prices were affordable. Recommended.

Nice to sit outside, enjoy the air and park atmosphere. Can bring your own foods to add to the seafood items available. Nice persons working there.

Such a COOL spot! Inside of the national park. The spot is a lunch area with food truck and dining spot by The Jolly Oyster. They have grills and really nice picnic tables to allow you to add your own spin to their great food! Great experience - the food was delicious and presentation on point!

The oysters here is one of the best. You cannot get any fresher oyster than what this place can offer. Price is fair. My family of 4 had 4 dozens.

Fine scene for tasty Seafood. Fast, efficient, and courteous service. Prices were good for how much you get. I can see why they have a lot of positive reviews.

Best fresh seafood! Both raw and cooked, everything is awesome. Call ahead on Friday's to see if they have the rock crab or uni. Both go fast and only sell the day it arrives so it's always a treat!

I never liked oysters until I came here! Oysters are delishes. But not only that, the location and service is amazing to.
Btw. Not only the fresh oysters are amazing they have a 5 star level backed lobster selection.

I went to have some oysters but they were closed because of the storms.
But, my visits before were just great! Lots of parking and lots of outdoor seating.
Just like having a clam bake back east but funner!

Delicious! I had the scallop ceviche (first time trying scallops) and it was amazing. The grated oysters will make you drool before and after. And the service is impeccable. Super nice people!

Really fun and unique beachside dining experience. Believe its now only open on weekends. Its often windy and cooler than youd expect so bring a jacket just in case. Parking in the state beach lot C. Just follow signs. First hour is free. Get here early on busy weekends if you want to get a table, umbrella or a bbq quickly! Or bring your own! I explain it to friends as a hot truck and a cold truck. (trailer). Cold one sells raw clams, oysters etc along with shucking knives! Hot truck sells non alcoholic drinks and prepared dishes most involving their own oysters and clams from Baja farm. Made to order so the wait can be tough. Yes they take cards! Story boards along perimeter of dining area explain the farm process. I always bring my own beer or wine and often end up meeting people and sharing. Easy to bike into park too and in summer theres a rental kiosk nearby. Park bathrooms are close also.

You have to enter through the beach parking to the East. Tell them you are heading to Jolly Oyster. You will get a special pass that allows for 2 hours. Once you are here, step up and order. I like to shuck my own oysters which is all the fun. Just watch what you’re doing so you don’t take your own hand with the shucking tool. I hear horrible stories.

We love stopping in for oysters after a beach walk. I only wish they sold beers to go along with it, but you can bring your own.
