The Landsby, Solvang CA

Great hotel! Very clean and updated! At night in patio they light up all the fire pits.warm and relaxing to sit around. Lots of seating.

The Landsby doesn't live up to the standard of a 4-star hotel. Unfortunately, this is another instance of a former motel thinking it can get away with poor quality basics due to its hip decor.
We had the unique experience of staying in three different rooms during our stay. The first room had unclean bed linens, so we asked for a new room. The second room was incredibly small for the price and the shower drain caused the shower floor to fill up with water during each shower. We were asked to move to a third room for our final night because other guests needed our room and were upgraded. This room was "accessible" yet was the farthest away from the elevator you could possibly be and required moving along a very narrow walkway in order to reach the room.
Don't waste hundreds of dollars by staying here just for the decor.

Beautiful modern hotel is the precise heart of Solvang. Everything is walkable and convenient. Great restaurant on-site and many other options on the block. Comfy beds and great parking make this our first choice for Solvang stays.

Overall very average hotel that tried to make it look upscale with their decor. Hotel class should definitely be 3 or lower. No room service or ability to get things delivered to the room. No robes or slippers provided. Rooms were extremely dusty and appeared to not have been cleaned in awhile. The air filter needs to be changed. You could see tons of dust bunnies. Typical changing is every 90 days. Clearly this hasn’t been changed in a long time. Scary that people haven’t learned to be more cleanly after being in a global pandemic. A great location and being the nicest place to stay in town

This was an amazing stay! The staff was so friendly and so helpful! Loved the room as well is was exactly as described. The town itself is great but this was by far one of the best hotels Ive stayed in. Would stay again

Ok place. Clean. Artwork is hard to take. This is the artwork we had in our room on two different stays. Good restaurant here.

To touch Denmark, it is not necessary to travel outside the United States, as the Danish town of Solvang is quite suitable for this place. The city was founded by Danish Americans in 1911.

Ate dinner here, not a lot of vegetarian options. Food was good but expensive and not worth cost.

This hotel is in an ideal location, you can walk everywhere. It's sweet and cozy and has great outdoor space. Despite being on the busy Mission Street, our room was quiet and comfortable. Every single hotel staff we encountered at the here was so helpful and polite. The bar and restaurant has great drinks and dinner menu. The only complaint we had was that our room was extremely dusty and was not dusted for the 3 nights we stayed. There were cobwebs on the lights- so that was disappointing. Overall, we highly recommend.

Over priced for an older 220 sf room with tub and shower combo. Hot water? Barely warm.thermostat unresponsive, room faced street so street noise.
Check in woman rude and unpleasant but Checkout lady very friendly and nice.
$15.00 parking on-site, but plenty of parking on streets adjacent to property. Don't waste your dlaars.
No discounts "it's out peak season" even for veterans!

Clean, modern, great location. Restaurant in hotel was very good (Mad & Vin). Felt the price was appropriate for the accommodations. Only con was all of the exits were unlocked and open/did not properly close (back and side doors). This felt unsafe.

We stayed at the Landsby around a week ago. The aesthetics and environment are very hip and trendy, which is what attracted us to book here instead of Fess Parker, Santa Ynez Inn, or Hotel Ynez, however, the actual quality upon arrival is not up to standard, especially for the price point. There were small stains on the sheets and many small holes and pilling. Similar to other reviews, you can hear quite a lot from the other rooms or outside noises. It felt like they spent a lot of money on design, but have not spent a lot of money on upkeep or cleaning. It's merely the appearance of an expensive hotel. We did enjoy the bar and restaurant, though it was not so good to make us want to return.

Next time, we'd recommend staying in Los Olivos or Santa Ynez.

My best friend brought me here bc he knows how much I love Cali.road trips. He asked before booking which hotel I would like I decided the Landsby was my top choice. Upon checking in things went smoothly, in & out within 10 mins. Checked into our balcony room. Once we entered the room we were extremely excited. As the hours continued I noticed little mishaps. When I went to wash my hands in restroom long hairs ended up between my fingers, shower had little water pressure, but most of all the beds (especially the pillows) were extremely uncomfortable and I had minimal sleep due to this factor. Not to mention when I did finally fall asleep I was suddenly awakened by a loud knocking on random doors around our room around 3 am. Perhaps a security (unfortunately) person is needed. The view from our balcony was nice but while we were both 'semi working' the room was not easy-to-use as neither of us could find a desk or tabletop for laptops. On the other end of the spectrum we had reservations for dinner in the hotel restaurant. I became ill and there was no problem canceling and bringing ice to our room. I believe this hotel to be one of the trendy locations of Solvang, but they can use a bit of a makeover and more importantly more comforts for their guests at this price. Minus bar, hotel, and lobby I'm not sure the room with balcony is '4 star status' in the USA.

Location is amazing, you're basically in the downtown area and can get to anything by foot; including most of the Winery tasting rooms. Rooms are nice and clean, good service with available underground parking for $15/night. The place is a little old, with thin walls and ventilation system. But you can't beat it's location and convience.

Lovely hotel, great staff. Walls rather thin and unfortunately we had very noisy neighbors for the 2 nights we were there. Would love to go back though. Would highly recommend the restaurant Mad and Vin in the hotel. Awesome food

Do NOT stay in room 41. It was at the top of the stairs but sounded like our bed was in the lobby. I asked for a different room which they quickly did without hassle. It too was on the 2nd floor but also very noisy. Easily hear guests as they walk through the hall and pretty loud when people are even outside (ground level) walking by. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable just not well insulated for noise. The restaurant had good food too. Oh there was a mini fridge and coffee maker (keurig) which is normal but there was no microwave which I thought was odd. Specially in a town that pretty much shuts down at 9.

Charming hotel and perfectly situated for strolling the streets of Solvang. The hotel has a very nice Restaurant/Bar and the service is good. I loved our room

Very enjoyable experience. From the decor to the food and drinks. Customer service is excellent. Highly recommend this place when in Solvang.
