The Laundry Room, Oakland CA

The facilities are generally clean. Though this doesn't apply to the bathroom as I have not used it and I've watched men walk in and out so fast that you know they aren't washing their hands. So hard pass for me.

However, I take issue w/the exorbitant amount of time it takes to dry ANYTHING in the dryers. Even after 30 minutes on high, my hoodies were damp in a few places. I ended up having to pay extra money and time to get everything dry. I've been laundering my clothes at laundromats in the area for awhile and I have to say either the dryers require maintenance or they need new dryers. I've used Advantage Laundry on Broadway and 40th (gets crowded and the attendant doesn't clean enough) Woody's and Lake Merritt Laundromat (trying to stay closer to my neighborhood and parking at Lake Merritt laundry is a fight in and of itself) and Sunshine Laundromat (super tiny - hard to maintain distance from ppl and not enough washers/dryers). At all these locations, I have been able to wash, dry and fold my laundry in ~ 2 hours. And I haven't had to continually feed the dryers to get my clothes dry. My latest visit to The Laundry Room? It was 3 hours and I didn't even bother folding up all of my clothes b/c I was so irritated that drying my clothes was taking FOREVER!

This was my 2nd (and last time) visit. The first time I thought the extensive dryer time was a fluke. Now I know I was not imagining things and will not be visiting this laundromat ever again. It's sad b/c beyond the patrons that don't wash their hands, that is outside of the control of the laundromat. But poor drying equipment that eats away at my money and time cannot be tolerated.

And I say this after pulling a pair of laundered shorts from my laundry basket that now smell moldy and have to be laundered yet again.

Now I really can't stand you.

And yes, I know how to launder clothes and don't overfill washers or dryers w/laundry; it defeats the purpose and clothes don't get properly cleaned or dried. And it's a waste of money. I'll just make the drive to Woody's or Lake Merritt Laundry across the lake b/c they're clean, their equipment works and I've never experienced issues beyond parking, which has more to do w/the neighborhood than the facility.

Owner is hostile and rude, search elsewhere. Employee got aggressive with me for apparently getting too many quarters ($7+ per wash cycle) and owner decided to threaten me with police charges for yelling back, with the ultimatum that he would not do so if I removed my one star review. Take below reply of evidence of his pettiness. He got my phone number and asked how many quarters I took ($40 for the record to cover the four loads I'd brought) and wasted police time by reporting me for vandalism after taking down "customers only" signs taped to quarter machines after so rudely being accused of not being one and attempted forced removal.

Witnessed disgusting behavior of staff and OWNER, over quarters! Never coming back here ever again.happily taking my business somewhere with better prices and payment options.

Very clean. New machines reasonableness cost. (5.25 for large load. 25cent dryer). Wifi that may or may not work.

Well as quiet as it's being kept. The Laundry Room is very well situated.
Coin or app payment. If you use the Dexter app you can monitor the time on your machines.

Lots of dryers, washers in 3 different sizes. No top loaders.
Spacious area for folding clothes.
On-site staff who are busy tidying up while wash and folding. Staff also manages a small "store" where laundry supplies can be purchased.
This is a must visit.

Super Clean, plenty of room, fair price, newest machines, largest machine I ever seen is there. Only thing missing is a coffee vendor and/or music.

Clean spot to do laundry. No much parking. Facilities are clean and the tenant is helpful if needed. Free wifi as well.

This wash house used to be tolerable and now it’s has gone to the cleaners. In the midst of a pandemic and management is allowing customers to be walking around with their masks barely covering their faces. When said folks are approached by well masked customer’s they’re being verbally abused and threatened with violence. Management then has the audacity to ask the well masked individuals to leave. How crazy is this during a pandemic? If I could give zero stars I would.

This place is one of the best to go wash the personal is very nice and helpful and the washers are big.

Nice newer washing machines, faster wash and dry times than a few other places, always someone there to help when you need.
