The Laundry Room, Santa Cruz CA

First off shout out to Sophia!
I have enjoyed coming here to wash our families clothes and at first wasn’t familiar with the card system and how it worked.an attendant came out and helped me out the first time with it as I was racing under the gun to get them in before 7: 30 so to get them into the dryer before they closed.
On another occasion Sophia helped me out and I wish I could remember the second persons name that also helped that day when I picked up my sons dads laundry for him cause she was also very helpful and I like to tip them if they help me which is nearly always the case but on two occasions there was another worker there that not only was not helpful at all, but I heard her telling someone that had never been there before who was putting her clothes in the washer at 7: 40 pm that she shouldn’t put her laundry in the wash since the washers automatically shut off after 8: 00 pm… this.is.not.true!
yes, you have to put your laundry in to wash before 8: 00 but they don’t automatically shut off at 8: 00 when there’s a load in!
The two times I’ve encountered this person, she had locked people out at ten minutes until 9: 00 and they had their laundry in the dryer! And I noticed that I had put my clothes into dry on high for an hour, ran a block away to run an errand came back in 55 minutes as I put a timer on my phone and my smallish load that I had on high for an hour wasn’t dry yet?
Did she shut off my dryer because I held her to account last visit?
Also she audibly makes comments and sighs really loudly when she see anyone come in at 7: 30 to wash!
I also had an issue where the washer wasn’t accepting my card even though I had plenty of $ on it, the other attendant came out and patiently helped me with it and this other attendant was there making comments under her breath that I was trying to get a free wash! And insisted on standing really close to us watching the card be read as if she was trying to prove that I would try that…that was a bummer and I dread it when I go there and she’s working, I hate to say.
BUT, what I love to say is that EVERYone else that I have encountered there are awesome and sooo helpful and soo professional!
So I’ll just go on the days everyone else is working.

Today I went to The Laundry Room to wash a new fluffy mattress pad - I washed and dried it, sitting close by, but when I went to the dryer to pick it up it was gone! The staff handled my problem beautifully, looked at the webcam recording, figured out who picked it up, and saw that it was a person who mistakenly picked up mine instead of her own. The manager, Sophia, called her (left a message), but assured me that they would pay for my loss if need be. The woman brought it back a bit later, I picked it up, and all is well. I was even offered another wash and dry at no expense.
I felt well treated and pleased.

Very clean, lots of machines, and attentive staff. Free washer to dryer transfer too! There's a size and price for everyone. Highly recommend this spot for anyone to do their laundry.

If u just came out of Henry Cowell State Park and got to do your laundry, this is the place. Open until 9pm- thank you! - and card operated. I mean, we all stopped using cash like 10 years ago. I’m thankful for these card laundry places. Place clean. The owner was fun to talk to and made the time go by faster. I’m used to doing my laundry in my apartment in Texas- you throw it in and go about your tasks so being stuck in a wash machine room waiting for your laundry is a new experience for me- but places like these make it a no brainer. I really don’t have to rent a place with wash machine hookups with excellent laundromats like these around!

Absolutely top notch. Bright space, clean machines, clear instructions, diligent attendants. You can walk next door for a sandwich while you wait for your laundry. If you want to get cash back from your card, the attendant will gladly help you.

Driers are now 40 or 50 cents for 10 min, which is on par with most dryers in this area, Machines use a member card; it's free but you load money onto it. You can ask for your balance back from the staff. Small, cozy place, so come on a weekday to beat the weekend crowd. The drop off service is good, 3 tiers of pricing and free transfer to dryers. 3 choices of folding let you control how much $ you spend. I recommend the middle tier. Extra charge for large items like blankets. The Ozone option is pretty cool, if you don't already use OxyClean. The space is clean and the staff is friendly, so be nice to them. My favorite place to wash until 8pm.

I sometimes use the free transfer service that they offer, where they take the laundry from the washer and put it in the dryer for you. Great idea no? Too bad that it already happened TWICE that they put to dry carpets and rugs that I use to mop the floor together with towels and clothes. In the paper they make you fill up you can specify if you want them together or separate and I marked separate. They used two dryers, just mixed everything. Worst part is that I went to ask what happened and while one of the lady was nice and admitted she just made a mistake, the other one was very rude, defensive, unprofessional and ended up saying I am very welcome not to go there anymore and treated me like if nothing bad happened from their part.
Yes the service is free but I always tipped for it and if you can’t even own up to your mistake (and what a bad one too) and make up for them, why offer and promote such service. As I said this is the second time this happened, and the treatment I received was the worst part of the situation. Because mistakes we all do at work.
I always recommend this laundromat to everyone but for sure I won’t anymore

This is the cleanest, most welcoming laundromat I've ever been to. Staff are helpful and prompt. I really appreciate having this business in our community. I use the wash, dry and bag service and everything comes back clean and crisp - and fast!

Best laundromat ive ever been to in my life great service and staff and the place is spotless compared to other laundromats.
