The Line Coffee reviews
18I rarely try new places but I’m glad I stopped by! I had the Mexican Hot Chocolate and Quiche…both REALLY good. A perfect blend of coffee and unique pastry options…I’m not sure there’s a place nearby doing it like this. The coffee drips on their menu looked interesting and probably giving those a shot next.
I love there food and coffee.
It's not baked goods from Costco like 95percent of other cafes.
This place has melt in the mouth extremely good soups and croissants and I hope the owner and this business stays here forever.
Please help this shop stick around and try it out. I promise you'll be back for more
Weird hours, but ticked every box for me: great coffee and pastries, super fast service and really friendly staff:)
The most amazing cup of coffee, very friendly service, and gentle encouragement for this tired mom who had been in the hospital all night with her son. I will be back!
Stopped by after a dentist appt, didn’t know this was here! So cute. Got a cappuccino, but I’ll have to come back for the empanadas next time!
Great little hole in the wall!
Better than the big box places!
Good coffee and the large assortment of sweet and savories to nosh on. I had a veggie empanada and it was delicious! Just the right amount of heat.
Friendly staff and owner too!
Will be back for sure!
The best chocolate chip cookie I have ever had. Utter perfection in a baked good! The iced coffee was delicious too. The owner is a professional chef and makes everything. This place is a gem!
Heartbroken that I only discovered this place two weeks before I move out: (Highly recommend! Coffee was excellent - got a vanilla mocha which was a delightful mix of sweet/tangy-bitter/spicy (cinnamon?) And the tex mex empanada was delicious as well! Not too dry and flaky, not too oily, really nice
I live at Telegraph Gardens and coming to The Line every day has become routine. I love their nitro cold brew and latte with oat milk and the fresh empanadas are unbeatable. Great size and stuffing to crust ratio and unique flavors.
Really friendly staff plus great products.
Giant airy quiche filled with toppings like sun dried tomatoes, onion and mushrooms. Super hearty and a perfect high protein snack. The mushroom empanada is also super yummy. So is the chicken curry empanada. It is $6.50 but you get what you pay for! They are large sized and cooked to perfection. They warm it up so the crust and insides are nice a hot. It’s was the perfect blend of sauce and topping with the bitterly flaky crust. Iced coffee is one of the best in the neighborhood. You taste the roasted bean and it’s not like the bitter diluted water you get at other shops.
Stop by and say hi to Tom.
I came across this place while working next door. Tom was awesome, super helpful and we weren't even working for him. Went in to check it out and I tried the homemade hummus, which was great, with a nice serving of mixed veggies and pita for dipping. Went back in before they closed to get some chocolate cake, also homemade, and he hooked up some coffee for the road. It was all fantastic. It wasn't until we were leaving that we found out he had only been open for a week. Definitely stop by and make this a local favorite! Thanks again Tom!
Great coffee, super friendly staff. The owner is SO SO nice—he fed my clingy dog treats while I ordered so she didn't have to be outside by herself! They also have rewards for repeat customers (which I am one of now). I HIGHLY recommend making a stop here after shopping at Whole Foods or a medical appointment.
Dropped in for an empanada and am looking forward to trying other treats! Generous portion of chicken and warm spicy flavour in perfect buttery crust. They have loaded slices of quiche, house made pastries, a couple flavours of empanada and they all looked delicious. Friendly folks behind the counter (owner?) too!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Great coffee. Delicious food. Today I had a chicken masala empanada. Absolutely delicious! I don’t know if it’s a traditionally correct empanada, but who cares? ! I would eat one or two or ten everyday.
This has become our default neighborhood coffee shop. Coffee is great, pastries freshly baked. Try the lemon poppyseed muffins if they have them! Tom is a lovely cheerful face to see in the morning before the grind of the day.
Great coffee, great pastries, great vibes. Best coffee shop in the neighborhood! I only wish they were open on weekends.
Sweet little hole-in-the-wall serving incredible coffee. Also fresh-baked croissants, pastries, muffins and quiches. Handy to the hospital / doctors offices just across from Whole Foods. Everything on offer here appears to be made fresh on-site; none of your Costco trade tray gut bombs. Highly recommended!
Came across this gem in downtown Berkeley - what a nice change from the corporate giants! Delicious coffees, pastries and sandwiches and a friendly staff.
