The place looks very nice on the surface but has some issues. The staff is nice which is why I gave them a second star. Per the picture below, I was told that this was normal for well water but having lived in the country all my life I can tell you that their well is just not properly filtered. They comped my breakfast but honestly not being able to take a bath for the week wasn’t awesome.

Also it’s important to note that if you’re staying anywhere near the pool area (which I think most are) it’s going to be unbearably bright all night long and there are no curtains in the room. The blinds keep out a little bit of the light but you really need to have something to cover up the window if you want to sleep well.

Besides a breakfast restaurant being very slow those were the main issues. Nice place and nice staff but the rooms need some work.

March 18th 2022 - cottage 8 room 12. Housekeeping knocks on my door and wakes me up at 8: 50am. I opened the door and dolled up young lady with a paper and pen in hand asked me when I will be leaving because they want to clean the room. Forgive me that I wanted to sleep in on my BIRTHDAY and came there to relax. Cleaning people put their needs first before guest's comfort. I am staying in hotels a lot and never seen anything like that. I called front desk to complain about housekeeping disturbing my sleep. Later on I called again asking for fresh towels. Nothing for 1h. I though that they wanted me out ASAP. Apparently I messed with the housekeeping. I called again finally someone delivers the towels. Now I understand why all those bad reviews. Customer service sucks in this hotel!

Lovely stay in the cottages! Great location with easy access to Sonoma and Napa valleys. The bikes offer easy access to downtown Sonoma and should be utilized. Breakfast was nice with its Mexican flair. There’s even a little ginger cat that may make an appearance during your stay:)
Wine tastings are a great thing to include in your daily schedule too!

After we got in the room and as we were unpacking we heard people screaming and cussing at each other at the top of their lungs near by. I looked out but didn’t see anyone. It sounded like they were outside our door. Doors slamming all day and at night. You can hear people talking as they walk down the hall like they’re inside your room. The fireplace didn’t work, coffee and creamers were never restocked during our stay and they didn’t leave TP on the last cleaning day…. First and last time at this place

Second visit post renovation and while the hotel looks and smells lovely, the front desk is terribly unwelcoming and seem to have forgotten their manners. I haven’t been to prison, and I imagine the welcome there would be on par with the Lodge. Pelotons also still not working, 9 months later and after it was brought to their attention. This isn’t the upscale experience expected for a hotel of this ‘caliber’ and sad to say, it’s certainly not worthwhile when there are so many other options in Sonoma so close by.

This is the perfect spot to stay in Sonoma. Well-located, and a good blend of modern and rustic that fits the vibe of Sonoma well. The cottages are the way to go. Benicia's Kitchen is a fantastic breakfast spot on-site. Nightly wine tastings made for a good opportunity to meet people. Pass on Wit & Wisdom for dinner, but the outdoor area is fantastic for cocktails. There is also a hidden spot in the back of the Lodge you should check out, besides the pool area.

The lodge king room was asked with good view but they gave the one with terrace view with pipes.
When asked to start fire pit in evening to enjoy with friends said its not working (only one at hotel) which was told while checkin that we will start it on request.
Looks like they are trying to save money on gas.

Great resort with amenities including spa, fitness center with peloton and tonal, heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, and the rooms were terrific. Would highly recommend!

TERRIBLE amenities for the price you pay! You can book the highest end room, no soaking tub, they put you at the far end of the property and the room is not extraordinary by any means! Stay away! Spend your money elsewhere. Even brought it to the managers attention and he wouldn't do anything for me.

This cannot be a level 7 resort. I booked 2 upgraded Cottage rooms here for 2 nights at a premium price. Nice hotel but nothing extravagant, which I thought it was going to be for our special trip. Breakfast was no better than a Starbucks and at a price. I found out on top of the upgraded room fee, there was a $50/night resort fee. When asked about it, they said it was for use of the pool, bikes, bottled water, etc. What?
I am a seasoned traveler and I am very willing to pay for an upscale resort. This is NOT an upscale resort when I have to pay for things I would consider included in a resort of this style. Sorry just being honest here.
We checked out and went to a competitor property nearby at half the cost, made to order breakfast included in the room fee and and very nice hotel. I think you may need to reconsider this property classification. The resort fee ticked off my guests big time. They noticed this with the card that was included in the key card envelope. Don't even mention it. Include whatever fees are needed in the room cost but do not inflate the cost just because one thinks this is a 5 star hotel It is NOT.

We had a great time seeing our favorite vineyards and topping it off at the lodge in Sonoma. Everyone was awesome and the bar tender was a riot. His demeanor and patience with a new younger work force was very professional and his patience was very inspiring! We will be back!

Broken light in the restroom, broken window shades, i might have spent the night in the streets. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel? I wouldnt stay here again.

Still exploring but we checked in today to a nice upgrade for Titanium Elite (1br suite w outdoor bath / fireplace) - room 1812. First impressions are great. Cool vibe in the lobby, restaurant, pool area. Room is nice and spacious with fireplaces in and outside. There is a large Sonos outdoor speaker / portable which is great. Concierge helped w a wine tasting and dinner reservations. There is a shuttle - first come first serve to take you around town. There is also a wine tasting daily from 4-5. Will check out more tomorrow and add some more pics. So far - pretty good spot. About a mile from the main square in town….

11/2021 Update - came back to the hotel post pandemic. Hotel was renovated and looks really nice. It was fancy before renovation as well, it went up a notch. Glad to be back. Posted pics of the rooms.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Always got a townhome style room away from the main building. They have a heated pool and my kids had a great time as well.

This is a very expensive hotel so I expected a decent stay. Our first night here we spent all day traveling so we were very excited to order room service and watch a movie at night. The room was lovely but we were very disappointed to hear there was no room service available that night. We decided to order in from a local restaurant and watch a movie. The movie channels available were very limited so we were happy to hear that we could sign into our own Netflix account on premise. Again, we were disappointed to find out there was no wifi available that night. Upon calling the front desk we were told their engineers were “working on it” but nothing was resolved until the next day. The housekeeping service the first day did not attend to our room until very late our first day here which inconvenient but not the end of the world. Our last day here the housekeeping service did not attend to our room at all. We were told that they leave at a certain time each day and do not always get to all of the rooms. I am a mom of a two year old and the thing I look forward to the most while on vacation is coming home to a freshly made bed. This was incredibly disappointing to hear. We were refunded our resort fee for the day but honestly all I wanted was to go climb into a freshly made bed. For the amount of money this resort charges I would have expected so much bettering

Wish I could have stayed longer. Great location, free shuttle services, fire pits, free evening happy hour, amazing fitness center, beautiful pool, and community bikes.

What a amazing and relaxing time we had at The Lodge. We were greeted with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff they made us feel very welcome. Our room was very comfortable and loved having a fireplace. What a great surprise to have two bicycles right outside our door that we could ride any time down to the local Square. We decided to try the brunch on Sunday which was so delicious and enjoy talking to the chef. Look forward to staying there again.

At 800.00 a nite, you would think you could get more than 2 free bottles of water ‍️. Oh and free coffee Room was beautiful. Maybe a 1pm checkout?
