The Melting Pot, Sacramento CA

The food was wonderful, the service was good. Some of the tables in back when they get overfilled Are barely big enough for children? So with that being said i am six, foot 2. It was like 2 hours of torture that I paid $200 for. So if you're a normal size man, make sure you ask for seats in the larger tables.
And yes, it is still. 1 of my favorite restaurants.

Best place in the United States to enjoy fondue. Especially the Sacramento location. Management is amazing. They run the best ship that there is.

I had never been. It was so good. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and well prepared.

Let start with wow, what a fun dinner and an even better dessert with first class service.

We had the big night out for our date night and was pleasantly surprised at how much food was involved, between the two of us we had to stop eating the main course early so we had room for dessert. The food was great and service was wonderful.

I only have two complaints. First, the coffee we ordered with our dinner tasted low quality or burnt. I feel that a restaurant at this price point should be able to make a better cup of joe than an IHOP.

Second, the booths for two are designed in such a way that if you aren't careful or warned you will slam your knee into the outer housing/equipment under the table. They really need to pad it or at minimum warn people as it is quite easy to hit as the clearance between seat and equipment/support is very small.

The only thing that lowers this to a four instead of 5 is price. 2 people one drink a piece almost more than 150. The food was bomb the server was attentive and the drinks were delicious. Just an expensive 2 hour dinner.

I have been a fan of the Melting Pot for over a decade. I alternate between the Sac location and the former location in Burlingame.
I’m disappointed to say the quality is rapidly diminishing. The quantity of fondue is so tiny now. Our cheese fondue Al a carte was perhaps 1/4 of the pot, and the Chocolate 1/3.
I fondly recall the pot full and needing to dig down to stir. The temperature was off and it was not warm enough. It was still delicious and we considered a second order.
We opted for Al a carte rather than the endless entree because in the past, we were too full to enjoy the chocolate fondue.
I actually finished the chocolate fondue for the first time. And first time ever that we did not ask for more bread or fruit dippers.
Drinks were delicious and at $10-$12.50 appear reasonable, but in reality, the martinis are perhaps 2-3 shots, depending on who pours.
For myself, one was perfect. My friend, who regularly drinks, I can’t recall if she ordered 4 or 5 of the bourbon peach cocktail. She was far from drunk and not even noticeably tipsy.
Will I return?
Probably because perhaps this was an off night and there is no where else for a decadent splurge! So one more chance or I start googling!
I’m hoping the generosity that has always made me over indulge returns. Fill up the pots again, please!

Excellent place to treat yourself and a loved one. Try getting a spot in the "Lover's Lane", it gives you a more intimate experience having a private booth, away from the main dining area. Bring your appetite as the meals definitely are filling, especially with desserts.

You could not go wrong with The Melting Pot. They bring out what appear to be tiny bites of fruits, breads, veggies (with melted cheese), filet mignon, lobster, salmon, chicken (with tasty broth), strawberries, brownies, etc, etc, etc. (with melted chocolate). However, you will walk out of the restaurant feeling so full that you may want to skip breakfast and lunch the next day.

You're paying for the experience at best. Food was alright. You cook it yourself but flavors are limited. You have to pay to park in the garage, but it's not terribly inconvenient. What irritated me the most was that they hound on you to make a reservation, yet they sat two walk-ins before me. I had a reservation at 6: 30 and they sat two tables before me at 6: 30, which we got to our table I want to say 5 to 10 minutes later. Highly overpriced for what you get, even ordering the bigger night out for two is not a lot of food at all. My guess is you pay for the experience completely. I wouldn't recommend going for food, but I'd say give it a try once just to say you did it.

Gift for family event. First experience with this type service. Food was top rate and abundant, took home quite a bit for another day, wait staff superb (very helpful explaining choices and how to’s), cozy atmosphere.
Recommend you at least try it!

Try to go with at least 4 people who like to share. The more couples, the more different things you get to try! For instance, for each couple you get to choose a "cooking method". One of them is hot oil, which is awesome, but you probably don't want to deep fry *everything*. So if there are at least two couples, you can pick the oil and a flavored broth. So much fun trying everything. We were all stuffed by the end. Really quite expensive, but it's a really fun way to spend an evening with friends and get to know each other.

Best part of the food was the desert. This place is pretty expensive but it's worth it for the desert menu alone. 8/10 would recommend.

I wasn't going to review this melting pot, but. The manager cancelled my reservation on open table after we left so I couldn't post a review. Very shady. The staff was ok, but seemed annoyed at everything we said or did.

Drinks came out and food was crusted onto the outside of my glass and my daughter's glass. The server was annoyed I asked for new water. The salad was brought out halfway through the cheese fondue, so I felt rushed and the server made wierd comments about switching it up.
The worst part was that the salad had a long white hair in it. I have a shaved head so I knew it wasn't mine, it was clearly tossed with the salad because it was wrapped around some salad in the bowl and I found it after it was wrapped around my tongue.
The server was again irritated with me when I told and showed him the hair that was long and white, walked away as I tried to address him, ignoring me. The manager did a typical apology and gave me a business card as if I could use it for something. I said maybe 10 times that I just wanted to leave to eat elsewhere as I was grossed out and she kept rambling and wouldn't let me leave. Then I get home and see my reservation on open table was cancelled. And of you don't know, you can't write a review on open table if your reservation is cancelled. Shady AF.

EDIT: owner reached out and explained that open table charges per seated table which is why they cancelled my reservation. Owner tried to be accommodating and in all honesty, I have eaten here once prior and it was a good experience. Perhaps this is a one off, but I will leave the review in case it happens to someone else.

Great place for a date night. Great service and delicious food. Definitely try the flaming turtle.

Hands down one of my favorite places. It's fun to cook on your own and the food is amazing.
