Staff is friendly, on time to open. My personal barber (Marlene) is the best barber I’ve had in years!

Definitely my go to spot for haircuts from now on it’s a cool shop with the man cave atmosphere and the employees help you feel welcomed. One of the employees Marlene has been very helpful since day one and every cut has been solid not 1 complaint definitely give this shop a chance if you haven’t.

Ohh boy, here we go.

First a little background: I'm from New York where every corner has a barbershop and the are all competing to have the best experience for their clients. I also lived in LA for the past 5 years where every barbershop I went to really didnt live up to my standards which meant i was waiting long periods to get a mediocre cut if i didnt make it back to NY first or TJ when visiting (that place and reviewvis elsewhere).

I moved now to San Diego and as I am looking around i find myself with this particular shop, I called, no appointment need 1Star for you, i get to the place, It's empty but it's also Monday so I wont judge, the place did look clean so i went for my cut, seems they take turns on new customers, i got the girl whom i figured quickly was the owners daughter by quick conversation with the other barber whom passed me up (respect). I did meet the owner and had a great conversation, but his daughter (my barber) really didnt speak but to ask questions about the cut (no points taken as im not one to spark conversation either).

The Service: here is where my problem starts, I specifically asked for a "skin tight (shave) high FADE", i got a USMC MAMASAN (japanese barber on base) HIGH AND TIGHT. Which if i was still in service and in Japan where my cut was $5 i would have been extremely happy. But that is not the case, then came the beard, I'd like to stop and state the entire time im facing away from the mirror so im not seeing what has been done. Back to the beard, without a question as to what to do with my beard she trimmed it down, then started lining up from the bottom to which i told her where i wanted the line, then i had to point out the hair around my mouth needs trimmed and shaved and again she did without asking how, i ussually get trimmed in a pair of half circles but she went square. At this point im at that awkard stage where i just want to go. I say all good (it'll grow back). But then comes the biggest blow of all.

Price: So my most expensive haircut ever has been $95 it was in Miami Beach and worth every penny ss i came out of there drunk with a great cut even after i sobbered up. In New York my average cut price is ~$35 (tip not included) and in TJ (yes MEXICO) I pay about the same as New York and they give me "THE WORKS". Mind you i got the hot towel and razor treatment. Which came out to a grand total of $65 outrageously high for the quality of work.

I'm really sorry to have to give this place only 2 stars as I did like the conversation and look of the place, but i wasnt there for that i was there for a service that was not rendered correctly and overcharged at that.

When i got home my daughter and partner both told me I should've went to TJ.

The first few times I came here with my son the cuts were good it was a Puerto Rican at the time
Then they just hit a 180 with quality I gave them 3 chances already and some paisa just tore my hair up I got charged like 80$ for a haircut and beard I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed and got charged another 30 I really liked this place but I'm never going back!

The fact haircut is 30 dollars, the cut should be flawless. Disappointed in the craft, I’m pretty sure there is a lot of great barbers that work there, but if you are going to charge 30 dollars, they should all be great.

Never had a strait razor shave before. And this was my first time getting one. It felt great. But be ready for the aftershave. It will burn a bit. Thanks man cave staff?

Bad experience in this place. I would not recommend it. My haircut was simple and they couldn't even do a good job. When I got into the car, my girlfriend noticed that they didn't cut my hair the way I wanted it. So I went back to get it fixed. Horrible job. I will never go back.

I have always passed this pace here in Chula Vista and had NO IDEA how good they were! Highly recommend it even if it’s your first time as it was mine. My barber was the first table, he went above and beyond to make his customers happy! Now I have a new barber!

This is the worst haircut my kid ever got! They charge me $30 and it’s super choppy cuts and made him bleed I didn’t leave a tip for the first time ever! But here is a tip go back to barber school.

Horrible experiences again and again. 4 haircuts and 3 were extremely bad. The latest one I asked for something so so simple. A 1 one the sides, and 2 inches remaining on top. The lady cut the top with a #5 razor and now I look like a buzz cut. Told her it was “much shorter than what I wanted. What happened to 2 inches? ” She claims, “that’s about 2 inches right? ” HELL NO! I am livid. Thought I’d give them one last chance, 3rd times the charm… NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. Definitely never going back there ever again, and I hope no one else does if they like their hair the way THEY want it, and not the way “man cave barbershop” wants it.
Posted 2 pictures. One is what my hair usually looks like after I get this haircut. The other is the result that mancave left me with. Compare the two and judge it for yourself.

The owner was straight up 'G' with much respect and dignity and most of all pride for a self made man with lots of Faith and business sense, I felt like I was getting my son's hair cut in his living room, felt very much a part of I see the men's cave abundantly blessed and favored always ️️

Went there once and it was ok. I went in 2 other times, one time I arrived 20 mins before closing and they wouldn’t even acknowledge me standing there so I walked out. Another time I got there almost an hour before they closed and they told me that they were done for the day as they had some other people waiting.

Haven’t gone back
