We had a full day in San Francisco before a late night flight and we wanted to make the most of it. By the afternoon, though, we were exhausted from dragging our kids everywhere and ready for a little break. The Mosser allowed for a several hour stay for a reasonable rate. The staff- Dell and the manager- were helpful and accommodating.
The room wasn’t big but it was just what we needed. The building feels old-school fancy and definitely added to our San Francisco experience. We really appreciated having a spot to relax for a few hours before going back through the city and on to the airport.

Small rooms, lil dated, beds were nice. Service is lacking and needs better breakfast options. I would come back but don't expect much other than shower and bed.

How does this hotel have an 'excellent' rating? Do they pay for it? Where do I start? A double room? If you can't open a storage door fully, then no it is not! Cover fell off shampoo dispenser first use. Worst, and relatively, most complicated shower control ever. Hairdryer didn't work. Smallest sink ever (not in bathroom), with a pointless shelf above it that meant you couldn't lean over when shaving/brushing teeth! Smell of cannabis. No air con. No routine housekeeping. Someone else mentioned soundproofing re external sounds - internal more the issue! Arguing couple in next room until early hours, slamming doors, people on their phones talking about God at 4am!
Spoke to staff who seemed sympathetic however, did little to either sort the issues out (other than hairdryer), or make amends. We were offered another room, however, had seen another review saying this had been charged for, so declined. However, not offered any recompense, unlike other hotels where issues were encountered! It's not the cheapest hotel either, and we got the impression they were trying to spend as little on it as possible to maximise any profits. To be honest, if I could have given it '0' I would, even though the staff were okay, and it is in a good location. The cells we saw on Alcatraz were larger and more functional! Spend your money elsewhere as there must be better to be had in SF.

The room is what you pay for, it’s not a luxury hotel. However, I thought the room was small, clean and cute. I did not run into any issues while staying here and I would definitely re-book with them in the future.

Super cute cozy rooms and clean. Came with extra amenities like robes, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Amazing location with so many stores and food and nightlife as you step foot out the door. I love it. Booked with private bathroom and thankful I did.

Overall a great experience and stay. We are staying again. I called to ask about parking & possibly having same room but the guy was slightly rude & trying to get me off the phone. Tips: there is no hotel parking, plan on an additional $40-100 for parking. He made no effort to help me reserve same room.

It's definitely an older property which comes with its own challenges, but also charm and character. Only one elevator for all guests/HK/Hotel Staff.which causes traffic jam during mornings and check out. Staff is friendly, rooms and smaller but quaint and quiet for the most part. No air conditioning, just ceiling fan and window. Rooms are cleaned up but could be better. Ceiling fan was white but blades were dirty
with dark dust coated.

It's a decent place and for the money you can't go wrong. Prepare for stair climbing during your stay.

Stayed here for Dreamforce 2023 and honestly would stay again. I read a lot of reviews before booking, and that helped a lot as I knew what to expect. Do not book if you're expecting a fancy hotel. I stayed in a room that shared a bathroom and I had no issue as they were always clean and vacant. There was a sink in the room with a mirror. It felt a little like college but this was the right option for me in this situation.
Pros: Location, Cost, Comfortable, Staff
Cons: Noisy because of traffic and other businesses (but I adjusted to it), no room service between days

It was a hotel. The room was mostly fine. But not $150 a night fine. The carpets clearly haven't been replaced in decades. There's obvious mold in the bathrooms. They say on the website to park in the 5th and Mission garage. They also do not validate parking.

I’m no expert with the standard of qualifying a hotel to be how many stars but this is nothing like any other 3 stars hotel I ever stayed at, probably the most ghetto 3 stars lol. BUT, if you can sleep like a baby despite of noise/lights/uncomfortable bed, and you don’t care about having coffee/restroom vent/fridge/AC in the room, then this is THE place to go because their prices and location are unbeatable and it’s clean (as clean as the condition allows) and safe and functional and staffs are very nice and friendly lol… Just a heads up, they don’t have curtains in the room, only yellowed old blinds so you might want to bring eye covers. There’s a lot of noises from the street (they do have double windows but the street is just too crazy) and from the hallway and your neighbors so get earplugs ready. Left after one night of insomnia with full gear (earplugs and eye covers), will probably never come back but I appreciate it’s existence in brutal downtown SF.

Honestly I give this place a five stars.
Me and my boyfriend went to a concert last night and the parking garage we had originally parked at, closed and locked us out. We had nowhere to go since we live two hours away. We tried staying at different hotels and nobody had anything until we walked in here and asked if we can stay the night, luckily the young guy had one room open and he gave it to us. Really wish I had gotten his name but he was working Saturday night, 9/2/23 around midnight is when we walked in. Hope you see this, and thank you for taking us in we appreciate it so much. Will definitely stay here in the future. Room was really clean too.

It was a comfortable stay. I personally wish the shower was bigger I felt claustrophobic! Other then it being a micro hotel room, it was in a great location off of Market. Great dining options and shopping in walking distance! The Victorian Style building was so beautiful. Parking is $56 offsite which is bleh but it’s the city. I would stay here again. Like I said room was clean and quaint, service was excellent!

Upon checking out, my daughter was looking through her bag for her phone. I guess 3 minutes after checking out the staff acts stupid and asks if we want to check in. We are 2 black women and I personally at age 55 have never been treated like we were trying to stay in the lobby. I guess that after checking out you must vacate immediately and be gone. Being mere peasants we have definitely learned that we will never patronize this hovel again. By the way, the woman who acted dumb was a woman of color and the man behind the counter with the fowl face was Caucasian and gay so I really don't understand their actions towards us. It was not at all busy at the time, we were the only 4 people in the lobby and 2 were employees. Being a native Californian I have never been treated like that in my life. There's a completely lovely man who works nights and checked us in. I don't remember his name but he has a beautiful bald head and after dealing with him we thought that our stay would be much different.

Pros: The hotel staff has done a wonderful job at keeping it clean. The hotel is in a great location. It’s affordable.
Cons: the beds are springy and uncomfortable. Rooms are very small. There’s no a/c but most places don’t have a/c here so don’t be alarmed. Bathrooms, including showers, are shared amongst the other guests on the floor. Lastly and most importantly, two different people staying on two different floors in our group are covered in BED BUG bites. (One is on the 7th floor and one is on the 8th)

It's a great concept, accessible and with choice. Even the shared bathroom is efficient and there is no problem.

Although the hotel was lovely they did not want to service our room daily and it needed to be done on request

Old, no A/C unit, couldn't open window, dingy, felt very uncomfortable. While taking a shower, I touched the top of the window sill and could feel all the dust that had not been clean.

Even though it's perfect outside in June, I was stuffy inside the room, including at night. Even the ceiling fan was difficult to control.

The ONLY redeeming quality of the Mosser is its location to things like the BART, restaurants and cable car.

It's a 1-star hotel masquerading as a 3-star hotel.
