THE MUSE SF, San Francisco CA

It was Christmas Eve and I was at a different salon for an appointment in Hays Valley as well but when I showed up there, they didn’t want to do my nails the way I wanted them so I frantically called around and the muse said they can get me in within 30 minutes. I showed up and was immediately seated and was placed in a super comfy chair with my dog. The women there were super nice and accommodating. I had one nail tech prep my nails for and another named Lynn finished my nails with a beautiful natural ombre gel X, the price was a little on the higher side, but worth every penny, I was so happy with my nails and I will for sure come back about a week later one of my nails came off and I went back and they fixed it. No questions asked thank you ladies for the best service ever.

The first visit for a Gel X went fine and I was happy with the courteous reception and results. Turned out one whole nail fell off within a week. I went back for a pedicure and to have the nail fixed. The manicurist was annoyed at my questions (I am not familiar with gel extensions and asked if I could get another color or if I needed a new full set for that and kept getting a “no” for both questions). She was visibly annoyed at having to fix it too. Second nail is now loose too today. Won’t return.

It was great the first few times and this last time my nails came out looking rushed-because they were. While I made an appointment, someone came in midway through. My nail tech then rushed through the rest of the process leading my nails to be left messy. Check out the photos for yourself, I won’t be returning. To add, my nails aren’t the same shape or length on both hands -sadness.

Wow, that was THE best facial I ever had. The lighting, Arina’s touch. My skin feels soooo soft. Am going to come back monthly. 6 stars

Overpriced for the quality of service. Had a gel manicure, wasn’t great. They were applying nail polish without removing the ridges after filing. The hand massage was under one minute, there was no scrub as listed under their services. Everyone was polite and friendly but would not go there again.

Amazing service at a decent price point compared to other places in the city. My gel manicure and regular pedicure still look amazing a few weeks later. Shoutout to Cherry for the amazing service and attention to detail on my manicure!

The staff are very serious, they should be more friendly, the work is very good and fast $$$ expensive compared to other places but if you want a design they make it exactly how you want!

Love this nail spot! As a nurse my nails go through alot of hand washing and lifting patients so I need really strong long lasting nails and this spot delivers! They do amazing nail art as well and they’re so nice! Have recommended this nail salon to multiple friends too.

My daughter and I come here faithfully every three weeks. I had been looking for a new shop and it took over a year to find The Muse SF. So glad we did. Linh and her team are incredibly kind, our nails are always perfect when we leave, and they last for over three weeks which is saying something for someone hard on her nails. The shop is incredibly clean and welcoming. Thank you Linh for great service and a great shop! #customerforlife

Incredible service, deeply skilled nail techs, and such a clean and beautiful atmosphere. My first time getting extensions and i LOVE them & they’ve lasted perfectly (it’s been three weeks now!).

They even include a hot stone massage with the pedicure— wow! I will certainly be back and tell all my friends about it!

I came here after researching a few top-rated salons and chose them because they offer Gel X (options are important in assessing the right mani execution for nail health!) and also artist skill going by reviews.

My previous mani was only a couple weeks old and had already peeled because of the poor handling of the underlying natural nail (there went 4 months of hard-won natural growth) and poor execution of the ombré art I wanted.

Jang (removal, application of Gel X) and Cherry (ombré art) were excellent across consulting on the type of extension to use, the colour combo (bonus: huge range of colours) and also the actual technique for the ombré. The removal and shaping of the nails underneath were also done with utmost care (previous salon caused skin to open up and bleed around cuticles and fingertips from the nail file and nail drill) - and cost the same as the previous salon. 10/10 would come back here anytime I’m in SF.

I gave this place two tries. Two chances! The first time they removed my gel x completely wrong which resulted in unhealthy natural nails (which I had worked hard to grow out). Every single nail broke within a week. The second time I booked for a full set with design which they completely butchered. It was so messy and bulky I was so embarrassed I literally went home cried and removed them all. Sorry, they’re just not good at their job.

Cherry did such a wonderful job on my nails! She was so careful and checked in with me on design and comfort often?

I am so disappointed. I was a regular customer but the last couple of times have been so bad I'm never going back. My nails have broken (I have NEVER had an issue before except after going to The Muse), I've been charged even though the fixes have been within the 7-day policy, and this most recent time I was told my nails were dry, only for them to smudge everywhere.

Don’t come here for any type of waxing.
They are messy, do not know the technique, take a long time and still did a very bad job overall

Very friendly service, I got gelx and the polish chipped off two nails after a day. I came back in and they fixed it for free though.

I had asked for a gel manicure when I booked but that wasn't what I received. I wasn't charged for gel so I didn't mind. The experience was relaxing and it took about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes to have my gel x nails removed and have the manicure. After only two days, six of my nails are chipping. They offer for you to come back and get the chipped nails fixed within 5 days of original application but I don't really have time and if they chipped that quickly the first time I don't have the highest hopes for next time.updated photo after less than a week my nails look terrible.there is a yellow film over them and they're chipped like crazy. I won't be returning

Such a kind owner with super friendly and highly skilled staff. I always leave here with mani, pedi, or both very satisfied with the result.

The value is excellent also compared to other salons. This is my stand-by nail place in Hayes Valley!
