The Neighborhood Barbershop and Salon reviews
15Read the reviews for this place and was a little skeptical but had to give this place a try since it was close to my work. Walked in and there were 2 Barbers, I went with a person named Henry. He was very nice and friendly. Took him about a half hour but when he was done I was happy with my haircut. The price was within the range of others barbers at $30. I recommend this place.
Great haircut by Tammy. Only downside is you have to pay cash or Venmo. Tammy, you get "5 STARS", but the shop gets 3 stars for not accepting debit cards. I saw a few people in shock after their cut that didn't have cash and 2 didn't have a Venmo account. You guys gotta start taking debit at some point.especially in Irvine. So I'm giving 4 stars overall. Just keep Tammy. The last Barbour I liked there did a great job but he's not there anymore.
I've had really good haircuts here and then just okay ones. That kinda inconsistency is not worth it. A 40min haircut vs a 20min one can be quite a bit different. Some places have their barbers listed on a schedule or by appointment. I think that would be nice if I was coming back here.
Overall, you might get a good haircut, but if you're looking for detail it'll depend on which barber you get.
I've been going here for 13 years and never had a bad experience until recently. A guy next to me was getting a fade and the barbers messed up his hair and yelled at him for being mad. Then the lady cutting my hair decided to stop mid haircut, say get out and pay her $40. Never going back unfortunately. This was my childhood barbershop.
Edit: I wasn't the person getting the fade haircut. I was the young kid sitting next to watching you guys have a yelling match and it scared me.
Looking for a new location.
Saw this was open for 36 minutes.
Called 4 times (rang for 3 minutes each time) no pickup. No call back. Awful first impression.
They did my mans the worst way. He went in there looking forward to getting an edgar cut and he came out looking like an amish person. They didn’t even bother to fade the back or the sides. They literally cut the sides and the back really short and left the top. The first picture is what he wanted and the mirror pic is what he got. They clearly need to learn how to cut hair.
The worst experience of my life with a hairdresser/barber. The woman doesn't want to do what you ask for, she speaks to you like she could speak to a dog, I don't know how people like that can run a shop. I wouldn't recommend it even to my best enemy. And, finally, the work isn't good.
The best barber in orange county is a vietnamese woman named Tammy. It feels good to pamper yourself with someone that is gentle, has attention to detail and is surgical with a straight blade razor.
I went there a couple of weeks ago for the first time. An excellent cut from Tiffany, did exactly as I wanted it done. I definitely will be back.
I just appreciated that they answered their phone compared to all the near by barbershops.
Hair cut was quick and affordable. They made sure to follow my request and it came out great. I was a little worried that they weren't wearing mask as I am immunocompramised but the nice lady put hers on as she handled me and made sure my mask stayed on throughout. 10/10
I called them to know about their prices. An lady picked up and didn’t greet me. I asked if they had any promotions and she just said they’re open until 3 today, I thought she didn’t understand me so I tried to speak clearer and she repeated the same thing. She could’ve just said there is no on going promotions.then in the middle of me talking she proceeded to Hang up. It’s a shame, if this didn’t happen I would’ve gone there since sports clips is closed. Lost a customer
They charged me $20 for a neck line cleanup trim. (Many places do this for free or for $5-$10) Their advertisements out front say $15 for a full haircut. I went here to try and support small business, but I feel legitimately ripped off. I didn’t feel like arguing with the lady so I just paid her and left. If I had wanted a full haircut I would’ve gone to my normal stylist.
I got a great haircut here from a nice woman. She helped me pick the style and was spot on.
Before I came, my call was picked up by one of the barbers and her name is Stephanie, she didn’t rush me during the call and are available for most of the day. It was when I came in that I saw the cleanliness of their store and was blown away with the results of the haircut, it didn’t hurt (no hair pulling, no ear pulling, no unbalanced sides like some barbers may land mistakes on), and it also looked exactly like the picture. This place has very professional, friendly, and conversation starting staff would definitely come again no doubt.
