The cashier initially told me the wait for dine-in would be 30 minutes, but it ended up being much longer. I decided to switch to takeout, with a promised wait time of 25 minutes, but that estimate was also inaccurate. I experienced inconsistent and unreliable service, resulting in frustration and wasted time.

Not sure this is an authentic Cantonese restaurant when the rice is not cooked through for the traditional Cantonese dish of clay pot rice with Chinese sausage.

2nd visit to the restaurant at 5: 30PM this time and waited for 30-45mins for a table of 3. The restaurant staff somehow preferred to sit large group instead of small tables of 4. Multiple groups of 7 people came later than us got a table before us. These groups some had reservations but some don’t. A group of 7 people were sat at 2 small tables put together.

That already kind of ruin the mood. On top of that, the rice in “the special rice order in pot” dish was still half uncooked. The table behind us also complained about the uncooked rice.

This restaurant is more expensive than some others on Convoy with similar quality of food.

Won’t go back anytime soon.

The food is amazing from this place. This is a true Chinese restaurant. Not so glamorous on the inside, but the cooks definitely know what they're doing, and the staff is friendly! And it has a 5 star flavor! Price is high, but you'll know why when you see the serving sizes. It's well worth taking the family for a quiet sit down casual meal.

Very good Chinese food, with an efficient/friendly staff and newly renovated dining area. The only issue is there is only one toilet for the entire dining room and on a busy day there can be 50 people in the restaurant. So little kids going to the bathroom in a rush had to wait in line.

Hot and sour soup needed more vinegar, so i did that at home at a big issue. We like the yang zhou fried rice. It came with some bbq pieces and topped with shrimp. And we also got cantonese roasted duck. The sweet & sour dipping sauce is to our liking.

I really enjoyed the food and tried a new dis-was delish! I did not though like the waiter standing right in front of us while we ate. They should be cleaning or folding napkins or something other than standing in front of us. Was a lil annoying
Otherwise I’d eat there again

As someone who isn't into "authentic" Asian food, I'm not a foodie, lol, I was quite amazed at how delicious everything was! You could tell how fresh all the ingredients were and the flavors burst in your mouth. Truly a great place. Have to admit it's pricey!

Good menu, food is good quality and generous quantities. Duck was a little cold and had to be reheated. Service was very attentive and complimentary green tea.

Came here with my mom during a weekday and we ordered 3 dishes, all of which were massive portions and we had leftovers for days! We were delighted to find Cantonese food in San Diego because we're from San Francisco where it is widely available. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

We had the beef chow fun, egg white and dried scallop fried rice, and some choy but I can't remember which kind. It was all absolutely delicious, and again, the portions were MASSIVE. Can't wait to come back to get some of their BBQ!

Nobel Chef is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. A place that has a lot of "must try" and a lot more than to explore. Crispy roast duck with the sweet and sour sauce is always amazing! The special order rice in pot is flavorful and I really like the crispy texture. The salty fish and Eggplant is a bit too salty for me. Their complementary desserts are really good as well!
Many other dishes are also highly recommended, beef steak, beef soup, daily special soup, Eggplant meat with XO sauce.

Consistent quality, friendly staff, clean environment. What's not to love? I always order the three BBQ items and an orange peel chicken to go. Usually on a Sunday evening. 15-20 minutes. Leftovers can be used in a fried rice dish.

Ordered to-go food at 11: 15AM. They quoted 45 min to an hour and it ended up taking 1 hour and 45 min. They were prioritizing dining orders. I would think twice about ordering to-go.

Had the $25 combination plate of pork belly and duck. It was expensive, but tasted good and reminded me of Hong Kong on the first crunchy bite.

Came here for lunch with my mom. At first we were worried about the prices, they are higher than most typical Chinese places I've been to. Each dish is about $20, with some specialty dishes up to $58.

We ordered the pea shoots with garlic, salt and pepper pork chops, sauteed scallops and shrimp, and rice. First of all, that is enough food to feed 6+ people, the portions are huge! And second, that was the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life (so far). Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. You could really taste the delicious, delicate spices in the fried pork chops. The breading was perfectly crispy and the pork was cooked to perfection. The pea shoots were surprisingly sweet and perfectly wilted with plenty of garlic. And the shrimp, in the sauteed shrimp and scallops special, were large, succulent, and flavorful, scallops big and perfect, and the snow peas were still a little crisp and very sweet. In my mom's own words, "The entire meal was perfect. " And it was.

Oh my gosh this place was good! I've been looking for a Chinese restaurant that was not very Americanized and I finally found it. It still has those American favorites, Gen Tso's chicken etc etc, but the rest of the menu looked really good. We had the Peking duck, Mongolian BBQ (for one who preferred something a bit more familiar) and a spicy seafood clay pot. The clay pot dish had various seafood chunks over a bed of rice noodles in a great brown sauce. There were diced red peppers (deseeded so not too hot) to give it a bit of a kick. The duck was done perfectly.

We are going back again soon! There were plenty of other dishes that I didn't recognize and I look forward to trying them!
