The Original Mels Diner reviews
15Our server was so sweet, and did a great job. The guy in the kitchen, not so much. He treated her poorly, we could hear him. Over a small issue. The "patty melt" only had cheese on one side and the burger was just ok. The cheese fries used too be awesome there, not this time. It's a shame.
Great spot. Always great customer service, always get orders correct if not they handle it on the spot and management takes care of you as well.
Love this place. They're great for a quick take out or sit down restaurant. The service staff takes care of every need and the cooks are wonderful. The club sandwich is to die for. And the duece coupe YUM!
Food was good, service not so much. Never asked if we wanted drink refills until we were leaving.
This place is always the best every time I go! Their food is fantastic and their employees are so nice. The choice in music is great! I love this diner. Better then any diner in Antioch!
Not that great, I typically love going to diners. I decided to get a burger and it was not good. The best part about it was the buns. The service was great and people were very kind but the food was not worth it.
My husband and I order take out from Mel's regularly, and eat in when we've got time. We always enjoy Mel's!
It was a delicious turkey sandwich, loved it. The food it hit the spot, but it was pretty small serving size, cut into halves. Side salad too. I give this place overall, "Four stars". But don't get me wrong, the table Customer Service was great, we had two employees waiting Our table. Nice pictures on the walls and fun looking place. Music was enjoyable took me straight to the 1950's Era! Everyone was pretty happy. THANKS!
Love the pictures of the memories and the music. Love the food and friendly service we get.
My grilled ham and cheese was quite good and perfectly cooked. Wife's salmon was also perfectly cooked and delicious.
Clean, awesome customer service but food wasn't up to par. The 6oz NY steak tasted like just defrosted, and hash browns were soggy hash, oily and certainly, not brown. Could have gotten better at Dennys. If, and maybe if, I go back and the same is presented, I'll send it back.
Place was clean. Fresh food made. Wonderful service. Will return again. Went on a Thursday so wasn't busy. But it was nice to eat out again. Do recommend.
Sheri V waited on my son and I and she was great! Our dirty dishes stayed on our table less than 5 minutes. She was very attentive and professional! She deserves a raise!
The service and coffee are good, but the food is another story. I ordered the San Francisco scramble and it wasn't edible. The mushrooms were way too big and almost pungent and they overpowered the rest of the ingredients. Also, they forgot to season the food. They didn't even bother to cut my toast.
I went to four other places for breakfast that morning but they all had 25 - 45 minute waits for a table which is how I ended up at Mel's.
Still, I should have known something was amiss when it was the only place in town on a Saturday morning that was like a ghost town. Now I know and will not go back. My San Francisco scramble, coffee and OJ were $25 and if it had been free, I would have felt overcharged.
Fantastic meal every single time. Wonderful atmosphere. Great service and good prices. Highly recommended.
