The Original Pantry Cafe reviews
15Although the waiting time was a bit long, I ensure you that the food was worth it. Really worth it.
Long wait outise about 50 minutes to be seated. Like everyone said you have to visit this whenever you are in downtown LA.
It must be Iconic, to have been around since 1924.
Something about it. It still alive.
Need more seatings for party of 2.
Also more workers and servers. (I guess every other industry is struggling to get workers to work)
Great Customer Service (fast pace though)
When you seated you forget about the wait.
Workers are nice! Nicely dressed.
This place was so delicious and fast. At first I was concerned because the line was going a ways down the block, but it moved quickly and once you’re seated the food comes out in no time! Generous portion sizes so I recommend sharing some of the dishes such as the French toast. The bacon is super crispy. They take card now. It is NOT cash only.
The pancakes are definitely worth the wait. Best breakfast in LA. Roberto was our favorite server. Such a lovely gentleman.
ALWAYS OPEN! This is one of LA’s o.g. Cafes and has exactly what you want when seeking comfort food. Generous portions, thick slices of sourdough bread/toast, huge pancakes, incredible slaw - much great food here. Service is always stellar because the staff are all long-time members of the team. You see the food being prepared and know that it’s high quality. Always open - I go every thanksgiving morning for breakfast.arrive early or face a line that usually moves pretty quickly. Paid parking lot across the street is easy. Or better yet, take the metro to the 7th street hub and walk the couple of blocks.
Great place to have Breakfast, Kinch or Dinner at the same time. Must try Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream and Whip Cream. Breakfast was gooooood.
The weather was hot and humid, but the people who assisted us were excellent. They were cheerful and worried about their clients, such as ourselves. We were happily surprised by the food quality and overall service. This is a definite must-try!
Love this place been coming here for years, if it's just you and another person I recommend the booth
Really good old fashion breakfast restaurant. My dad & I usually stop here for a late morning breakfast every year right before we go to the L. A. Auto Show right down the street. Long line to get in, but never too bad of a wait & is always worth it by the time we get in & the food gets to the table very quickly after you order. I ordered the pancakes when we went the other day & they were delicious!
Don’t expect a menu you have to find your menu on the nearest wall. Breakfast was average for such a long wait time
Fantastic breakfast place! I swear we ordered half the breakfast menu and everything was delicious!
I always love eating there there's not the cleanest place in the world and they're a little overpriced but clearly it is worth it
This place is worth the wait! Idc how long it is. Single line for dine in or to go. Amazing staff. They are fast, efficient, and friendly. Must stop when visiting LA.
My favorite downtown spot. Make sure to get toasted sourdough as bread choice. You'll thank me later.
These are, in my experience, one of the best restaurants in town, if not the best. Both the food and the service were great. The journey was well worth it!
