The Penny Ice Creamery reviews
30Great ice cream, very fluffy (almost like soft serve) and all made on site. Would recommend adding the burned marshmallow fluff topping.
Been here twice in two weeks and we live 2 hour drive away! It's that good!
I've tried the dark chocolate sorbet, strawberry peppercorn, verve coffee, sourcream chocolate strawberry — and each one was amazing! They change flavors every week. But I think pennypop (vanilla popsicle dipped in dark chocolate) is a constant and I highly recommend it!
Great little independent place. Saturday night, and they are open late. They had a line going outside, but it moved pretty quickly. I had a scoop of Raspberry Ricotta and a scoop of Basil. Both flavors were delicious. Prices were very reasonable. I told the guy who rang us up that we'd be back.
It was a good time. The staff is kind, patient, friendly, and the room itself has a very homely feel. A comfortable, relaxing space.
Marshmallow on the top of ice cream is fancy. Pretty good icecream.
You can try tasting flavors as many as you want in order to find your favorite.
But there is long line.
Great flavors! Highly the recommend the ice cream cakes (perfect for parties)!
Cute, cosy, shop near downtown Santa Cruz has a good variety of creative ice cream flavors and really good cakes. Helpful, pleasant staff.
They do sell ice cream at the local Santa Cruz Community Farmers' Market-a refreshing treat on a warm day!
Pretty good, a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Dat dark chocolate icecream tasted like dark chocolate.
The. Best. Ice cream. Anywhere. Ever.
Flavors you couldn't have dreamed up even if you were age 8 AND drunk. Again.
They could make pastrami and rye ice cream delicious. But I hope they never do. Is it a little pricey? Damn right. It deserves to be. And it needs to be. So I won't eat it every day.
I had a scoop of the dark chocolate sorbet along with the strawberry sorbet and they both tasted great were fresh smooth and soft. The combination of the two flavors also went really well. They're was about a 10-15 minute line wait on a Saturday afternoon in June.
My new favorite ice creamery!
Got the strawberry lemonade sorbet and the dark chocolate sorbet, which was a great combo! I've never tasted a dark chocolate sorbet before, but it was amaaazing. Of course I also had to get the torched marshmallow topping - so worth the extra $1.
One person working behind the counter, line out the door barely moving. After 10 minutes we gave up and left. Ridiculous
The toasted marshmallow topping changed my life. I'm going to become a marshmallow shaman in Costa Rica now.
Interesting, grown up flavors. Chocolate Whiskey Bacon is one. High quality, many organic offerings. Fruit from local farms. Dairy license. A favorite!
We went here last month while on vacation. My wife and I were just discussing the trip and we both agreed that the ice cream we ate here was the best ice cream we have ever eaten. Absolutely delicious.
Homemade icecream with local ingredients. So delicious, unique flavors. This place was real busy when we came at night!
Really good and fresh organic icecream. Love their creative flavors. Had the chocolate sea salt caramel and it was amazing!
I am not usually a fan of chocolate icecream and prefer vanilla based, but this was just too good!
Really good ice cream that you can taste before deciding. Also really cool atmosphere and it's not too expensive. I recommend getting toasted marshmallow as a topping
Ne ha decepcionado, eso de que no se puedan pedir dos sabores dentro de una misma bola me parece totalmente abusivo además los sabores son muy aguados.
It has been a total deception, I cannot understand why you are charged more than $4 for a scoop and you cannot choose two different flavors and they are even a little bit watery!
This place is a real gem. The decor and feel is welcoming and stylish. The ice cream was absolutely amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone. Its definitely worth the trip off the Blvd.
