AMAZING coaches!
I found TPE because I was looking for a gym that focused on weightlifting but is not necessarily crossfit. I had reached out initially because I saw a social post for their Empowered program, which led me to have a great video call with one of their coaches, Rachel, where I learned more about the gym, class structures, and additional offerings.
The team truly feels like a community, and I've already met so many people after taking only 6 classes.
I am so excited to grow here!

Best gym experience! The coaches meet you where you're at and push you in a way that makes you feel comfortable and strong. Easy check-in process. Every class is different and keeps you on your toes.

I absolutely love the Phoenix Effect. They made me feel so incredibly welcomed and have taught me so much about lifting in the short time I have been here! If you’re looking for a very accepting gym of all abilities then you need to check out this place!

I drive all the way from the valley to Hollywood everyday because the community at The Phoenix Effect is super inspiring and amazing. The support and good energy here is abundant.

At first I was intimidated considering it was my first time joining a gym with group workout classes but that totally went out the door as soon as I stepped in. All of the fitness coaches are extremely knowledgeable, approachable and want to see you succeed. Everyone that works out here is super friendly and becomes like your family. You will love everyone here.

I’d recommend anyone at ANY fitness level to come to the Phoenix Effect, it’s more than worth it. The workouts are definitely effective and the coaches put a lot of thought and strategy into them. If you are consistent you’ll certainly see results in no time. The Phoenix Effect is definitely where it’s at!

The best gym in LA! I’ve been training there for 4 years, and it’s been nothing but a joy. All the trainers and staff are positive and extremely knowledgeable. The energy is always up, and I feel welcome every time I’m there.

I became a member back in 2020. I had severe gym intimidation and huge lack of knowledge when it came to properly working out. Normally fitness classes don't really do it for me since, but Phoenix Effect totally blew my mind. The coaching staff is incredible, the 6-week cycles of programming provide you a full workout, and truly anyone of any body type is welcome here. Furthermore, the community of members are the most supportive. Not only will you see progress, but you'll be part of a great community.

Best instructors around, so helpful and motivational! I have a few physical limitations and they always have substitute exercise for me. Highly suggest working out here!

The best gym to keep you motivated and inspired to work out.

All of the trainers provide support and guidance to make sure you don’t injure yourself.

Also every class ends basically in a dance party… so what’s not to like?

This is my happy place. I've been coming here five times a week for almost eight years. Simply put–it works! I lost 40 pounds in my first year and have kept the weight off while putting on muscle mass and being in the best shape of my life. Not only is the programming top notch but all the coaches know their stuff and can regress any exercise if you have any injuries or mobility issues. They instill a culture of encouragement and celebration of your wins and that permeates across the athletes. When you get a personal record, you get to ring the cowbell and everyone in class cheers for you. You don't have to be a fitness expert, that's their job. All you got to do is show up.

Like seemingly everyone else on the planet, I’m in the constant pursuit of finding a way to “become my best self”. In finding the incredible community at Phoenix Effect, I’m not only physically accomplishing that in so many ways I hadn’t even considered possible for myself; but I’ve also learned that so much of that self-value is emotional, mental and very much all connected. The coaches lift you up from the inside out - focusing on encouragement that has made me feel nearly unstoppable when I step to any barbell or other physical challenge. I’ve long loathed LA gym culture - begrudgingly going because I was chasing a calorie deficit - and now, I go to the gym to better my whole body (mind and soul included!) and have a the best time with a whole community of people I adore. Plus, I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. Who doesn’t love that!?

Love The Phoenix Effect! I have been going there for many years. Love the different workouts, the vibe and that the instuctors always pay attention to the posture and correct me when I am doing sth wrong.

I've taken several classes so far and am loving my experience. The trainers know their stuff and really care for their clients. A lot of boutique gyms in LA advertise a sense of community or that every member matters and then fall well short of the mark. Phoenix is NOT that gym. Every trainer gets to know you, your needs, and your journey. They know how to alter your approach to each class so that you're working towards your personal goals. Plus, they actively fight against toxic gym culture. The atmosphere is always supportive and safe.

Great energy at Phoenix! One of the friendliest fitness studios I've been to in LA. If you are looking for a place to take classes, but are freaked out by the weirdness and clique-y nature of some of the studios around town, this is the place for you! Great workout, supportive instructors, small enough to get personal attention when you need it, and chill enough that you don't feel dogged by the attention. 10/10 - Good people/Not a cult!: D

I'm loving my experience here. The coaches are attentive and know their stuff. The programming is the real deal and great for me. All the intensity of xfit with none of the over-repetitive motions or injury producing competitiveness! Go here.

High energy classes in a welcoming community makes this an enjoyable workout. The teachers give personalized attention to help new students with their form during the weightlifting exercises.
