The Pizza Joint, Nevada City CA

The pizza I had was very salty, to the degree that it interferred with the rest of the flavors. I don't know if this was an anomaly, but I couldn't get past one slice.

Pizza tastes great! As a New Yorker I’m grateful to have this spot here in Nevada City. BUT literally EVERY TIME I order it’s a different issue. I’ve paid different prices for the same pizza every single time.everytime I order it’s a discrepancy.
It’s super frustrating, there is no communication across staff. I’m extremely disappointed- I placed an order today and paid $28 - asking for the same item I usually ask for and its not even enough to feed my family for dinner tonight I called and spoke to staff and they couldn’t give me any resolution.pizza tastes great but honestly I’m done supporting this business. When I order pizza it’s usually for the convenience but it’s ALWAYS an inconvenience here

Coming from NY, I hold pizza to a pretty high standard… I was blown away by The Pizza Joint. 10/10 would recommend.

Margarita was my favorite, but the pepperoni rivals the best of the best.

I'm going to drop a star because sometimes we get amazing service staff, but other times Mandy answers, puts on hold for a few minutes, someone points out phone off hook, and then says they never ever cut pizza in squares (except for the 10 other times I've ordered from them). I asked her to double check with staff and she said I know who it is and they don't like to. Well, OK. It's not the first time they've just put me on hold and forgotten about the phone either.

Delicious new york style pizza that is arguably the best food in Nevada City. Place is very popular so make sure to call on advance. Pepperoni and Sausage toppings were really good and staff was friendly. Yumm

Such a cool place with a feel of a NYC pizza joint. The location is great, with great bartop seating/standing room only. The view is of the NC streets, which can be interesting.

The food/pizza slices are great sizes and delicious. The selection is about 8 hot fresh pizzas.

Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a slice or two and enjoying.

Try the New Yorker Wall Street style. It is amazing. The crust on this pizza is to die for great little pizza parlor definitely some of the best pizza I’ve had.

Pizzas and slices are huge and served by friendly staff. They serve beer as well. Not much room inside for dining (standing only). Prices were on par with what you would expect in downtown NC.

Some of the best pizza I've had hands down. Just stopped in because of the pizza by the slice sign. I was blown away by the quality and taste of the pizza. Can't recommend this place enough

The pizza here is best in town. Unfortunately it’s hard to get them to actually pick up their phone to order. Their hours say Monday 3-8 so I called to order a pizza and they just picked up the phone and took it off the hook. I kept calling for a full 45 minutes hoping to get through since they already picked up once. They did not pick up again. When we finally made it to the restaurant to place an in person order there was a sign on the door that said no longer open on Monday. Even though there were at least 3 employees in there and pizza in the case. Absolutely shocking to have them pick up the phone and not communicate. I wasted time and gas just to order from them. It was obvious the picked up on my first call and then just set the receiver down because I could her talking a music while I tried to get someone to answer. Disappointed.

I am an avid hater of New York style pizza, but The Pizza Joint changed my perspective. Their pizza is hands down the best NY pizza I’ve ever had. It’s flavorful, crunchy, and the slices are perfect size. Will go again next time I’m in town!

Was yelled at today by woman working the cash register because I did not understand what beers they had the first time around. Very strange and aggressive. I even asked calmly if we should go somewhere else. Best pizza around but why so aggressive?

Crust is crisp but not burnt, sauce is great, cheese is great, toppings are plentiful and great.

Delicious pizza by the slice place! No seating inside but you can take your pizza down the street and enjoy it at the tables and benches available to all in front of the Chamber of Commerce.

If you don’t want to live your best life and satiate every ounce of hunger in your sad little belly, don’t come here. We’ve had a lot of pizza. A lot. I even worked for an Italian bakery/pizzeria in Chicago. This place is a hidden gem and deserves more than those uppity 4.4 stars. Great service, great slices. We’ll happily drive 1.5 hours to enjoy.

Favorite place in town for food. Amazing pizza and great staff! Back in September through November 2019 The Pizza Joint served hot food while the rolling PG&E blackouts hit Northern California for the first time. During the beginning of COVID they stayed open for togo food which was incredible! We are so happy to see that The Pizza Joint is open and doing well today! Thank you Pizza Joint for serving delicious food we will forever support you!

They forgot part of my order and let 2 to 3 people get their food before finishing my order.

We live in reno and were visiting the adorable downtown after our wedding in the area. Stopped in for some lunch and I have to say the pizza was amazing. Unfortunately that was not enough to make up for the absolutely abysmal service. The girls behind the counter were rude to everyone in our party.
She had asked if my brother in law wanted paper plates or a box and although he chose a box it was on plates, so I asked politely if he could have a box to which she snapped at me that she asks everyone what they want and he chose plates. None of us were upset with a simple mistake but the way she responded was incredibly rude. Even if he HAD asked for plates (which was not that case) she should have said, "sure" and just handed us a box. How hard is that?
My friend is not able to eat gluten per doctor instructions and when she ordered "type A" pizza on cauliflower crust the girl told her that that is not how it works because 'type A' pizza comes with a specific crust and for future reference she needs to order a 'type B' pizza on cauliflower crust.
They also snapped at another customer to move out of the way as the customer was adding parmasan/pepper flakes to their pizza at the counter where the staff hands people their pizza.because that's where the toppings are located with a sign that says do not move them.
So even though the food was absolutely worth coming back for, I would not support a business with such downright rude staff.
