Got a wake up call at 4: 30am we didn’t ask for. Check in was bad. Gotta pay 5 dollars for the wifi in the lobby. Pride was absurd for the quality of the room.

We regrettably stayed in Building 600 at the Ranch in January. Don't stay there! Although the rooms have been refurbished there are issues including the patio and outdoor chairs on the 1st floor room assigned to us being laden with mud from the sprinklers watering a grass-less area. The immediate outdoor landscaping is dismal and neglected. I think employees must also live there because my husband and I heard a vacuum cleaner at 11: 30 at night right above us. I am absolutely not kidding! And heavy walking back and forth till midnight all 3 nights. The pool is wonderful but the changing building is in dire need of paint and what's with that shredded, torn awning? Why the neglect? Where's the upkeep and maintenance? Also, an event was being set up with huge tents erected and the immediate parking area to the rooms blocked off. This limited parking required guests to park quite a distance from their rooms. Anyone who gives the Ranch accommodations, excluding the new cottages, a 5 star review is setting the bar very, very low!

We stayed in a very comfortable cottage. We had a fabulous time at the saloon/restaurant. Shout out to these folks that made our two nights there memorable in a wonderful way. Started with Chloe (hostess) recommended great information and times for sights to see. Tonya (manager) was a delight and personable. Alahna and Madison (bartenders) gave us excellent service and were also very friendly. We highly recommend this place to stay and enjoy!

Beautiful property that is well maintained. Excellent location for the trails and viewpoints.

One star for the swimming pool but very poor value for money! Resort fee bill like in Las Vegas when there is nothing more than a swimming pool or an overpriced store, very poorly soundproofed room, we heard the ice machine starting very early in the morning.morning, not to mention the person responsible for cleaning who comes knocking on the door at 8 a.m, insisting on waking the children up on the day of departure, which could be at 11 a.m!

This place is nice to stay at. The rooms are a little outdated. Pets are not allowed in the guestrooms. There are things to do at the Ranch. The ice cream parlor is a must go if you are staying here. You will need reservation if you are planning to eat at the restaurant. The store is ridiculously expensive. Expect to pay 2 to 3 times what it cost outside the national park. The food however looks fresh.

Room:
Outdated room. Bed was okay. It gets the job done but they bed could be more comfortable. The room was mostly clean. Space was good in size. A/C and heater worked great.

Amenities:
Ice machine works like a champ. Swimming pool and playground available. There are patches of grass to walk around. Television had plenty of channels. Wifi was good throughout the hotel however, you would occasionally need to reconnect when walking to another area of the hotel. The mini fridge in the room was also available to use. Wasn't that cold though. They have outside community fire pits at night as well.

Parking:
Weekdays there are plenty of parking. On the weekend, it can get packed. There was extra parking but expect to walk.

The best customer service you can get. It started with Marsha at the front desk and continued throughout our stay. I wish I could have gotten everyone's name, but here are a few: Jose, Sasha, Tanya, Westly, and Justin at the Last Kind Words restaurant and bar ar the Ranch.
And Maggie at the restaurant at the Inn.
Great place to stay for the Death Valley experience.

Nice and cossy place to be, close to beautiful surroundings just a few minutes away my girlfriend and I loved it. Highly recommended.

A disappointing stay at a property that is prime real estate but poorly maintained/renovated. The rooms are a bit run down and walls are paper thin so you can hear just about everything happening in the neighboring rooms with doors closed, the walls shudder when people walk on the stairs and footfalls upstairs will wake you up!

While polite, the front desk staff rushed checkin as tho' bored and were not welcoming at all. When we called for additional pillows, we didn't get through twice and was finally put on hold for over 5-10 mins, so we left them on speaker phone. When someone picked up, she literally said, "Hello? " twice and hung up. When we called back, sounding annoyed she said, "I picked up the phone but you were not there! "

We stayed during a park-wide power outage. Certainly not the property's fault, but one would expect that there would be some reprieve for guests in such an isolated area (what hotel doesn't have sufficient back up power?). Their generator only powered the office/pool area (front desk snarkily said, "Not what I would've done if it was my property! "), the restaurant closed immediately so there were few/no food options and guests were provided only a small glow stick outside each room! No discounts or further assistance was provided!

Finally, the grounds are beautiful but extremely dark at night. I am legally blind and found it very tough to walk around and would've appreciated at least some small lights to show the paths.

This was definitely not the experience we expected for this price point!

Two of the three EV charging stations are functional. So if you are traveling with a tesla or other electric cars, please plan for it. The road to Beatty was closed and we had to wait several hours in line here to charge our car. The charging was free and was a lifesaver at the end.

Pleasant hotel. The pool is good, the food is also not bad. The hotel is located right next to the off-road car rental. There is such a mini museum here.

I paid in full online before I visit Death Valley, and the front desk also confirmed I have paid in fill when I checking out. What came as a surprise is that they actually charged me twice!

The only charge at property should be the $44 resort fee for my two nights stay, but they billed $350+ on my credit card. I’ve contacted the Ranch via their web contact form, but no response. I’ll have to contact my credit card company to dispute that.

I’ve been to 20+ national parks in the states but this lodging experience is the worst. The gas and other stuff sold here are also insanely expensive. If you wanna any souvenir or snacks, go get it at the visitor center, much more affordable.

Appalling housekeeping. Lodger only gets cleaning service after 3 nights, but you can have towels and trash service, but they still don't show up. The hall carpet has been a mess all week and no vacuuming, should be shampooed occasionally.
Spots everywhere. Bring your slippers or flips!

This hotel has a good location but the worst service. We checked in on Christmas Eve, but there was a power outage. So a dark, cold, no-food night. They didn’t even have hot water for shower.
However, the worst thing is the service and their attitude. Although power outage is uncontrollable, they can always inform their customers about the situation. We booked hotel several weeks ago. The power had gone for at least two days before Christmas Eve. We also even called the hotel that morning to ask some details about our stays. But they chose to hide the power outage fact to us. Until we arrived the hotel in the late afternoon and noticed the power outage by ourselves, they “generously” offered us that we can cancel our book for free and leave. Where can we go? Book another hotel in the Death Valley on the same day?

Their bad attitude continued on the next morning, refused to solve the problem and kept saying that they couldn’t do anything without their manager who never showed up but seemed to control everything.

I went there Christmas Eve, and there was a power outage that night, no mobile phone signal, no electricity, no dinning service. I asked the front desk when the power will be recover, they said NOT ASAP! The front desk promised 50% off when checking out. Then I reach out to my booking website, booking website reaching out to the hotel, only got 20%. And I cannot even get through to the hotel. Horrible customer service, no respect to customer at all! Worst national park experience

Was really looking forward to staying here but was a let down from the get go. Turned up to a huge check-in queue that wrapped around the lobby, uninterested and slow staff (special mention to the young guy "Jorge" who had to take 10 minute siesta out the back after every person he checked in) didn't help the situation so in all over an hour spent waiting to check in.
Tired and dusty hallways lead to tired and dusty rooms. Other amenities were decent but a very poor start spoiled the whole experience. Amazing location however!

*Food was terrible and expensive- only 2 restaurants. Bring your own food** Power was out the first night of the stay and they informed us so late about this, even though the power was out for 4 days. Even after power came back on- the shower water was lukewarm, service was so slow in getting bedsheets to our room. Cottage is so small for what the price is. Wifi doesn’t work.
