The Roost Cafe reviews
17The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and consistent. They are a home run every time. The staff even remembers my name (maybe because I go there too much, maybe because I tip well). Either way you won’t be disappointed. You must try the Jonny cakes!
Great food one of chicos best breakfast spots for sure. Amazing verity of dishes and foods. Great staff prices and service.
Really enjoyed their Reuben sandwich. A grade above the usual diner fare. Also like the new (ish) location.
Love the breakfast here and try to come by often. My favorite is the johnny cakes. Very affordable as well, and super nice staff.
Chicken strips 85% tough, hard, breading, a, "teeny", piece of chicken inside. French fries, "worst", I've ever had! Mocha served in a, "paper cup"! "Wth"? Will, "never", be a customer there again. Waitress was friendly but could have veered me away from my order. I waitressed and would let a customer know when the order was gross, recommening something edible. Thumbs, "down"!
Yummy food, huge menu, the waitress graciously allowed my girlfriends and me to sit at our table and talk for 2 hours.
Had the chorizo, it was way to greasy. I took one bite and that was enough for me. Maybe I just had it on an off day, I don’t know? Maybe next time I will have a traditional American dish and see if it’s any better then the chorizo. I will update this when I do.
The options for breakfast are very diverse. Something for everyone. All three of us ordered different benidicts and all the of us loved our breakfast. Friendly waitstaff contributed to a great experience. Thank you.
The best blueberry pancakes hands down. The Roost is o e of the greatest places tobgo for breakfast.
This restaurant is a favorite of me and my husband's. Food is beyond good. He gets steak and eggs. I get a variety of benedicts. Coffee is tasty. Service is attentive. Cool and comfortable with booth or tables. Great for meet up with friends to chat over breakfast or brunch. Priced right.
Amazing! Super fresh ingredients, seriously addictive gravy, perfectly cooked omlets that are hot all the way through without being overcooked. Also they have tater tots as an option as well as hash browns and homefries. Which is a personal guilty pleasure to dip in gravy. Had the Farmer Dan omelette this time, very rich but so worth it and big enough to share!
Best staff ever.awesome biscuits and gravy. Their cord on Bleu omlett my favorite. It's the best place in chico for breakfast. Can't wait to try their lunch I heard it's fire. 5 if u ask me
This place doesn't allow outside drinks into their establishment. You got yourself a coffee before having breakfast at the Roost? Sorry, ya gotta leave it in your car. You will only buy Roost coffee, or you are not welcome here. The food here is REALLY good. But unfortunately I will not be visiting if I can't bring my coffee in.
Amazing breakfast here at The Roost! Got Farmer Dan's Omelette with sausage, ham, bacon, red peppers, onion, and cheddar cheese smothered in sausage gravy on top. It was to die for. I think I found my new go-to breakfast joint here in Chico.
With my husband for a late breakfast, was very busy. Checked online and it said 45 minute wait. There is no reservation service.
I enjoyed our food and it was very tasty! The prices were a little high. Paid for a almond joy mocha with almond milk. Charge $6.25 and an additional $2 for the almond milk?
We will be back and are very excited about the new location! The food is always well worth the wait.
We've always driven past The Roost when it was on Park Ave, but never stopped in. When we heard it flooded, and planned to move to a newer location, we vowed to stop in for breakfast. We finally did 1st thing on a Sunday morning. Arrived at 7am, and had our choice of seating in this spacious establishment. After ordering our coffee, my wife and I perused the generous menu which included more selections than I first thought, and made our selections. She had the breakfast special (2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and 2 petite cakes) while I had the Roost Omelet with hashbrowns and toast. We waited about 10 minutes for our breakfast as we enjoyed our coffee. Once on the table, we were surprised by the attention to detail and the attentive staff. The eggs/omelet were perfect, the hashbrowns crispy, and Her bacon was flawless (NO extra grease and crispy). The ingredients used appeared to be fresh and reflected in the meal. We finished, enjoyed another round of coffee, then paid our bill and left. Why NOT the last, 5th star, you ask? It's a bit pricey.there are cheaper breakfast restaurants in Chico, some with larger portions than the Roost. I have a feeling that the newer building, decorations, and accompaniments have raised their prices, PLUS they might have to compete with Cafe Coda 2 blocks away. All in all.it was worth the try after so many years, and we may be back for more at a later date.
