The Royal Cuckoo reviews
14This is my favorite bar in the city. The drinks are great but not pricey or pretentious. The space is cozy yet fun and I discover a new thing on the walls every time I go. The music is always top-tier whether it's from a musician playing the built-in Hammond organ or a record from their extensive vinyl collection. The bartenders are always chill and down-to-earth. I'd give this establishment 6 stars if i could.
Quaint, kooky but mindfully designed cocktail bar with wood finishes, taxidermy and 1960s furnishing.
A meeting place unique, perfect for showing an out-of-towner the casual eccentricity of SF. Outdoor seating street side and wonderfully intimate, lemon tree covered back patio, an oasis.
Great time, me and the boys in the band almost accidentally stopped in here, in fact, we did.stumbled in during daylight hours and bartender was a real gentleman and a pro, an aristocrat, the space out back is incredible and that was the best margarita in history.ok, the best margaritas in history
A cozy bohemian Danish cocktail joint with excellent music, an inviting romantic atmosphere, and a sweet little outside patio.
Such a great spot. Good live jazz, great cocktails, nice staff. Crowded but not in a bad way. Even has a cute little patio out back to sit at where you can still hear the music.
Maybe a little to cuckoo for me.if you can Believe that.it was fun.everyone should go at least once to see if its your vibe
This place is a national treasure. Great, affordable drink selection, knowledgeable staff, and that sweet sweet Hammond B3, Wed-Sun from about 8-11. Tip for tunes!
Always a great time at the unique Royal Cuckoo, especially when Chris and Lavay are playing on Sunday evening!
A local favorite with their own spin on a gin and tonic. Find me here whenever there's a night out
I love the look of this place. Dimly lit and nicely decorated, it's chic and modern without trying too hard. Also, the service we encountered was friendly and professional. Our server was responsive and made great suggestions on food and wine.
I ordered the Pancetta, Caramelized Butternut Squash, and Shallot Pizzetta, which was really tasty. The Sauvignon Blanc our server recommended was great. For dessert, I tried the trio of profiteroles, which were kind of fabulous. I would absolutely come here again to try some of the other items on the menu.
My favorite neighborhood bar - it’s cozy and always festive. Has live music on most days and a massive vinyl collection. Cocktails are a hit and miss but the cuteness more than makes up for it
I’ve been there several times on Wednesday nights and the service was great. The bartender even remembered our drinks from previous visits. But on my last visit on a Tuesday night, there was a different bartender who was very slow and somewhat rude. She even wrongfully accused someone in my party of not closing out the bar tab when we left. We will not go back again if same bartender is there again. But still 4 stars. Maybe the bartender was having a bad night - I’ll give the benefit of the doubt.
Great vibe, excellent service, tasty cocktails. The music was fantastic, and they kept the volume low so we could still chat. Love that.
Great place with a good selection of cocktails and live music. The music was amazing, as was the vibe. The place was a little busy but we arrived early and had awesome seats. Highly recommended!
