The Rylan Apartments, Vista CA

One of the best properties I’ve visited. It’s in the heart of vista, walking distance to movies and restaurants and the views are so nice. I’ve always lived in Oceanside but visiting this property made me question my decision.

I love living at The Rylan. The Apartment Life Team make the community there absolutely amazing. Love the residents the place and the location. There's a real good community there. 5 stars for Apartment Life 4 for the Rylan itself. It's a little too expensive but it is very nice.

I truly love living here! It's ALWAYS clean. Smells fresh 24/7. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The area is super fun with lots of things to do (within walking distance!) I was worried at first about lack of places to take my dog (no large grass areas) but my dog loves walking around the building and around the town, no problems at all! Love it here. Amenities are amazing. 10/10 recommend.

Great experience from tour to application to move in to settling in - Manuel and Rose in the management office made everything smooth and have gone above and beyond to help me transition to the building and a new city. Building is beautiful, apartment was ready and perfect, great amenities in the building, great location with so much in walking distance and so many friendly residents too boot.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was moving out from DC to CA. I did thorough research and it seemed the Rylan hit all of my boxes so I emailed. Rose was helpful at first. I flew out with my family to tour. Looked like a brand new contemporarily built complex in an up and coming area. So we go in and wait for the guy in the glass front office to stop ignoring us—that took way too long (huge red flag). When he did, we asked for Rose. Mind you I am a timely person, Rose is not. She took her sweet time coming out. Here’s the kicker, she passively explains that she can’t show me a model of the apartment cause they had surprise fire safety inspections and all the keys are on a singular zip tie. Logically, you’d think “well she could take the one key off since she had booked this tour weeks in advance” NOPE. She just stood there and said I had to come back because of her lack of planning as a Leasing Specialist. Disappointed and infuriated doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt in that moment. After planning a trip only see apartments from across the country. Funny thing is I have now relocated and toured so many apartments and asked about this procedure and no one had EVER heard of it impeding a tour by a potential resident. So I’m not sure if Rose and the front desk guy are just look for residents that they deem fit based on just appearance but if so.it’s 2022 and that is disgusting and unjust. My advice, there’s so many better places to over pay for rent with property management that won’t pull BS like this.

Update:
I have been seeing and hearing more and more accusations of the Rylan’s “subtle racism”. Please do not give these people your money instead report them to the DFEH. It’s sad to know this business is strictly looking for “well off white people” in 2022. Most of these 5 star reviews are either white people or employees and their friends and families. Do not be fooled!

If you drive or walk past the "luxury complex", you'll notice the sandwich board "leasing now come tour" signs they have outside. My husband and I were in the area getting ice cream and decided to walk over (ice cream in hand) to see if they had time for a tour since our current lease is ending soon.

I have never had a Pretty Woman shopping scene until that day.

The girl at the front desk gave us a quick once-over then proceeded to tell us she had a tour in a couple minutes with people that had made an appointment. No problem, we understand as we are walk-ins, we asked if she would be able to fit us in afterwards, no not until about 2 hours after the current time. We didn't want to wait around so we asked if we could schedule an appointment to view the apartments at a later time. She said sure and proceeded to take down our information and tell us she would call us to schedule an appointment. We say thank you, walk out thinking her rudeness was probably due to the stress of being the only person working the front desk, and assume we'll get a call later on that week.

It's been over 3 weeks and I am finally getting to this review. I'm annoyed that a front desk worker would make an assumption about our financial status because we were dressed casually and enjoying ice cream from across the street. I guess this review is my "Big mistake! Big! HUGE! " scene. This apartment building is the newest symbol of gentrification in Vista and are trying to convince people that their standard amenities should be consider luxury amenities.

Please keep in mind that a lot of these 5 star reviews are from their own employees. They are people who are family and friends of the workers. Very disappointed in my time here. I consulted with a few attorneys regarding their discrimination toward me. They were despicable when my grandmother died and tried to forcibly evict me. They will smile in your face to sign you but make your life hell if you have any sort of issues. I do not recommend this apartment for black entrepreneur tenants at all. They repeatedly stalked my social media’s and website. Please run far away from these people. Absolutely disgusting.

Nice apt.building. The staff are very nice and do a great job. Very expensive for no justifiable reason. Walls are thin. Lots of homeless nearby. Very very noisy, accidents on vista village road all the time. You will get stuck at the light for 15 mins when there are a few trains. Not really a place for kids, there is nothing around that is kind centric except 1 ice cream store, no where for them to play except the parking garage.

The apartments at the Rylan are by far the nicest I have ever seen or had the pleasure to live in. It feels more like a condo then an apartment. The appliances are top notch. The color scheme is very complimentary to most furniture. I have lived here almost a year and a half and have no complaints. Is the rent high? Yes, but so is the rent all over North County. Is the train loud? Yes it can be loud but you get use to it and learn to tune it out. I love I have a parking garage and the gym, patios and pool area are very nice. I have had only needed maintenance for things like filter's for the fridge and its taken care of in hours. The location is great, I hardly use my car on the weekends because you can walk everywhere. It's nice to be right there for the Strawberry Festival, Christmas parade etc. I've read the reviews of people feeling like there is racism on the part of the staff but honestly if you live here you will see that the residents are very diverse. There is a lot of military too. Most of the residents are very diverse not only race but age. There are seniors and new families. I like the activities the building has each month for the residents. Such as Taco Tuesday, or Pumpkin carving. I would highly recommend living here. I am not related or friends with anyone who works here.

From the start of the application process to my final move out day, the Rylan staff were all very helpful. Whenever I had a question and would send an email, usually within a few hours I would get a reply with an answer or to inform me they were working to address my email. The Rylan community and Vista community were both great with the short time I was able to call them home.

Why would anyone pay that much for an apartment when you could own a home for the same payment or less?

The Rylan is an awesome new community in the up and coming neighborhood of Downtown Vista. Given Covid-19 the staff here at the Rylan really kept our safety in mind which is a huge concern for us. Maddie was the first to greet us and was so accommodating, informative, and didn't push us at all to lease here. If you're considering the Rylan make sure to reach out and ask for Maddie - She can help educate you on the neighborhood, the complex, and if it would be a great fit for you and your family. Would highly recommend stopping by for at least a tour!

What a fantastic property! Centrally located, so many amenities, great views and well designed floorplans. Nicole was very welcoming and helpful.

My husband and I just moved here recently and we cannot emphasize enough how much we have loved living here thus far. The ladies in the leasing office are truly so personable and ensure that the residents here are always taken care of. Amy, Maddie, and Nicole are the ladies we have had the pleasure of getting to know thus far and are incredibly wonderful. We are looking forward to the new memories that we will be making here and building new friendships with the people within The Rylan community! We HIGHLY recommend this place!

Such a beautiful community! I recently took a tour and the grounds were so well kept. The staff was very helpful. The floor plans were pretty spacious.and those closets! Yesss! Can't wait to move in!

I moved in to the Rylan in October and while my residency here has been short, it has been a very pleasant experience so far. My 1 bedroom is nice and spacious with new appliances and a very spacious balcony. I am just a few steps away from enjoying downtown Vista which is very convenient and while it may have a lot of people enjoying the local bars/breweries, it remains very silent at night.

A big thank you goes to Nicole and Maddie who work in the front office. They are both extremely professional and are always prompt in responding to the various requests I have (general questions, maintenance requests etc.) It thanks to these amazing employees, great location and nice unit that have made my experience at the Rylan a great one!

If you're in need of a place to stay in North County, look no further. This property is absolutely stunning and in a great location that's not too far from the 5 and or 15 freeways. The staff, especially Manny does an incredible job and makes you feel at home.
