The Something Sweet Shop reviews
15I love this candy shop! I can always find candy from my childhood (80s) plus they have sodas, locally made candy. Just make sure you go here when in San Diego.
Not anything too interesting or special about the shop. The same candy you can get from anywhere is in the store. It was a cute little storefront but once I went in I can get the same thing from any grocery store. Not impressed.
Such a cute and fun store! The inside was impeccable and they literally have the most friendliest staff we encountered at Seaport Village. One of the employees helped me by making a cute gift bag full of different candies for my friends birthday gift and she LOVED it! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone with a sweet tooth!
This little candy shop took me back to my childhood, stocked full of candies I haven't seen in years! I found all of my older favorites, as well as newer selections. They had a wide variety of sweet drinks in the cooler, far more than were available when I was growing up in the midwest! They had nearly every kind of Pez dispenser you could ever want, which I thought was super neat since you don't see them often. What is NOT to love about a store dedicated to sweet stuff!? !
Hidden gem in Julian. Worth the visit. The taffy was not the freshest otherwise pretty good.
I use to work at seaport village as security and let me tell you…. Something sweet has the best candies and not to mention the freshest bagged candies there is. Don’t get me started with the gummy bears! The customer service there is on point and very welcoming.
Great selection of nostalgic candies. Very helpful young lady there. They could carry some more sugar free options.
Nice little local owned shop nestled in seaport village. Nice variety of sweets that kids will love (and adults too). Thanks for the nice hospitality and treats for my boys Gina We'll be back once the new orders for the hats arrive.
The cutest shop that totally satisfied my sweet tooth. I especially loved the selection of fun sodas - you can pick out your favorite then take a gorgeous walk along the water. It’s also a small, family owned business so I loved supporting them. Can’t wait to come back!
Super cute candy shop, love the deco and the candy selection. If you are near the area it's a must to stop by for your sweet tooth
I couldn't find this place. Me and my boyfriend wondered for 20 mins trying to find it.
Edit:
Directions told us something far different than where the shop actually was. Destination pin wasnt even in Seaport. Aside from that, we went to Seaport and looked until we found the store.
Very small, which isn't a big deal in itself, but the selection was not what we expected. A lot of it is prepackaged candy from established brands, most of it is easy to find at other places. We were thinking it would be more like Candy Depot, where they have multiple rows of out-of-package bulk sweets that you buy by the pound. Or at least candy that you don't see too often! Like specialty candy or candy from other countries.
I realize that there are more than one type of candy store- but I just wasn't Overly impressed with this one. Nice people, the store looks nice and it's clean, but as I said. For me personally, not a match to what I had wanted. I am raising my review one star, simply because the area was pretty and the person inside was nice.
I love the Something Sweet Shop! Excellent selection of candy and other fun gifts. Perfect little store to shop at for special occasions or any old day you’d like to treat yourself!
What a great find! Always greeted with smiles and a pleasant atmosphere when I step in the shop. Perfect place to grab a sweet treat while walking along the waterfront.
Such a fun and vibrant store! My kids and I love coming here to get a sweet treat. So many fun treats and toys you just can’t find anywhere else. It’s right next to the duck pond and facing the little bridge. The cool paintings make this an Instagram worthy stop. Plus all the employees are so kind. A must when in San Diego!
Love the Something Sweet Shop. Worked with the owner on a bulk goodie bag order for my non profit organization. She was super responsive, reasonably priced and she delivered a quick turn around in a short time frame. 10 out of 10 would recommend for all your candy needs!
