The Standing Room Restaurant reviews
10 Let's get this out of the way: The Dressed Burger is excellent here. Juicy and well seasoned patty that is perfectly grilled. All the toppings are unique but pair well to enhance the texture and flavors within the buns. But at around $16.50 after tax for a single burger is overkill even with inflation prices.
I understand they either need to raise prices or increase sales overall to offset the overhead but this isn't a sustainable business model IMO. It's unfortunate since the food and service is great but I think the problem is mainly the location.
The entrance for the parking lot in this area is just weird and awkward to access from Torrance Ave. You need to turn off into a side street that curves around a bit before getting into the very back of the parking lot. The plaza itself is also too small to attract curious customers driving by.
The burgers themselves are well crafted and The Standing Room should take pride in that, but they need to probably need to relocate or convert themselves to a full service restaurant instead of a counter order model if they're going to charge these prices.
The classic burger was simple but delicious! Napoleon Burger is so big that it is very difficult to eat! (laughs) The sautéed Brussels sprouts were also delicious.
With one of the best burgers we ate here during our 4 week trip
Prepared before our eyes; fresh ingredients; lovely and very nice staff: great price/performance ratio; TOP
Great little restaurant in Torrance. Unique food choices, but can get a burger and fries. I had the Bulgogi bowl in the picture and was really good. The server was friendly and talked to us about what they offered and what was good there.
Don't bother with the old reviews. This place is awesome. The lady taking my order and the cook were both very welcoming and the food was delicious. Prices are more than decent for Torrance, and the burger was delicious. Also tried some of my friends' truffle fries, and a big bowl of those those is definitely worth the price as well.
Not many places left that you can get lunch for under $20 now, and my total was just over $17 for the Cash Burger and a Red Bull.
Will definitely be back soon to try the K-Dilla.
I’m not sure why they aren’t busier. The food is so good! We ordered the classic burger lunch special and man it was filled with flavor! The fries super crispy but a little too salty but that’s whatever. We ordered these like chili with lamb sausage I forget what it’s called but it was really good just lacked the sausage aspect. Felt like there was very little sausage but despite that the sauce they use and chilis were pretty good! Would come back and ask for no salt on our fries and probably won’t order the chili dish but that’s ok cause the burger is that good.
I just ate the best burger I've ever had (The Napoleon). Absolutely phenomenal! To be honest, I came here to go to the taco place next door, but on a whim I read the menu and decided to give it a shot. So glad I did, really great food and the staff were lovely.
A very tasty interpretation of BBQ, burgers, and sandwiches. Read the menu and see.
UPDATE: This makes me sad. It is March 26th and they are closing their doors this week. It is a tragedy. Their food is creative and innovative.
The Cash burger I ordered was so well packed together that hardly anything fell out as I ate! I cannot wait to try the other burgers.
I ate here three times in one week after the first time I ate there. The burgers were actually really good but everything is over priced even by LA standards. The staff is rude and inattentive. They act like they're annoyed at you for ordering food. The reason I'm never going back though is that one of the cooks blew his nose and then tossed away the tissue and went straight to cooking my food without washing his hands.
