The Thonglor SF - Thai Restaurant reviews
15The food was nice but the service was awful. Very small space with a windy seat although it’s indoor. The waitress has no patience at all. She holds a bad attitude and almost pick up a fight with us. She applied a 20% tip for 2 person. My friend and I asked to changed the percentage because we are not happy with their service. She went to ask another person, return and tell us we can do a 18%gratitude with a contempt manner. We would have give an even lower rate but we just want to leave at that point.
Food is incredible, incredible I highly recommend the Cashew stir Fry with the crispy chicken. All the right garlicky flavors w/ sautéed onion n bellwether n chili sauce. Tasted like a Crispy Mongolian chicken n very fresh n hot. I complimented it w/ the coconut rice so Crispy n spicy w/ hint of sweet coconut rice was un-real. Small place very busy, however food is the star n worth waiting for!
This small eatery, despite its long wait and bustling atmosphere due to endless orders, is a place I absolutely adore. They offer a diverse array of Thai cuisine, each dish being a hidden gem that is a must-try when in SF. The Guay Tiew Lord, packed with generous amounts of shrimp, calamari, and fish cake, was particularly delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Although I was too full to try more, I'm eager to explore several other dishes on my next visit. I'm truly curious about the flavors they offer.
We had papaya salad and pad see ew, both were well made and taste was good. Service was good, on Friday night without reservation it took about 20 mins to get it. It's small restaurant with integrated kitchen, still noise was less.
Smaller inside area, had a long wait that moved fast, the pad thai was so good I would 100% do it again
The beef pho I ordered was very delicious and the soup was not too salty and quite light. The mango sticky rice dessert was different from what I expected and had a very special texture, but my friends thought it was a little weird
The food was amazing! The best pad Thai I’ve ever had and the Tom kha soup was very flavorful! I would definitely go again and again. The staff was friendly but the restaurant was tiny and you have to sit right next to other people. Overall the food was 10/10 and soooo fresh. I hope to visit again soon.
The food is excellent. However place is very small and congested for dining in. Better for "takeout is preferred".
Small eatery. Possibly a dozen chairs. The vegan Thai food was a little bit too heavy and too salty for me. There is a heavy scent of fish that permeates the restaurant. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend any of the dishes.
Excellent pineapple fried rice and beef soup noodle. The basil fried was so so. Portion was good. Very small restaurant and always busy, so I recommend takeaway. Service was ok
Tiny but excellent no-frills Thai within a few mins walk from Union Square. Great food at very reasonable prices in authentic surroundings, squeeze past the kitchen located at the front of the narrow premises through to a handful of tables at the rear. Fills up quickly which is probably a good sign but be sure to get there early and also large groups would be a challenge to seat. They also do takeaway.
Bad experience for dasher.understood on my side the mistake of rushing to pickup since i have scooter parked outside.but then lady i was next in line for pick up and you cant ignore me and look at white couple to serve them.
Very good Thai, just spicy enough to balance all the flavours of the curries and hot and sour
Food is authentic and tasty. Prices are good. One thing I noticed that concerned me. I was there for almost an hour eating and there were 2 people (1 man, 1 woman) who were doing all the serving, bussing, seating, etc.the whole time. I probably saw them bus and wipe 2 dozen tables plus serve all the food but aside from briefly running in and out of the kitchen just long enough to grab meals, I never saw them wash their hands once. They were handling money, dirty rags, dirty dishes and it finally hit me when they came to fill my water and grabbed it right around where you put your mouth (as the cups are very short). Gross.
