The Tropicale Palm Springs reviews
29Love The Tropicale, the food is amazing and it is always crowded even in the summer, the atmosphere is fun! My only caveat is that their drinks, that are very expensive around $14, are VERY weak. I don't mind paying top dollar for a drink if I get a buzz. I would highly recommend that you get your drink on some place else!
This place is amazing. Go there during happy hour. The drinks are good and they don’t skim on alcohol. Our server Irving was super nice! He suggested good drinks and had great conversation. We ordered small plates during happy hour and made that a midday lunch. The fried calamari were pretty good, the truffle fries are just amazing. Honestly, we’re leaving tomorrow but if we could stay we’d definitely come back.
Good food. But service is not so discreet. Feels like someone is always hovering. For the price of food, would have expected more.
Festive but not overly noisy! The ambiance was quite nice and the server was very enthusiastic.however the food quality did not match what the server was saying - the food was fairly decent for my taste but I would not imagine that it is the "top 100 restaurants in the world" like the server stated! It's definitely worth checking out!
Very big portions, leftovers are usually packed in bags. The food was simple, yet not so tasteful. Prices were a little bit too high compared to the taste. Service was efficient, even though they messed up our order first. The general mood in the restaurant was very tropical and classy. I liked how everything was organic in the restaurant.
First time at this restaurant. I wanted to eat some small plates. The service was very good. I didn't have a reservation and I was seated at a table top in the bar area near the reception area. A group of very rude men stood next to my table encroaching on my space waiting for a table with no concern for me eating my meal. I was hoping that someone at the restaurant would have told them to move away from my table. They didn't. I decided to leave. I did think the food was good.
This is a go to spot for me and my girlfriend whenever we come to Palm Springs. The atmosphere is lively, the service is attentive, and the food is memorable. There are lots of options depending on how hungry you are. When we're not super hungry, we stick to the (not so) small plates. We recently got the firecracker shrimp and the blue crab with sushi rice. The shrimp was perfectly sauced and not overly spicy, and the blue crab was refreshing and filling.
Ambiance was great, food was good. My friend had the boneless southern fried chicken, which he loved, though I thought it was a little overcooked and the crust was soggy. I had a Thai inspired beef salad, which was good, but could have used more than fish sauce and peanuts for Thai flavor, some lemongrass, birds eye chile and makrud lime leaf would have made it excellent.
