The Venice Beach Bar & Kitchen reviews
17The palce was filled with people who knew each other. I think we were the only ones who had just been walking by and decided to stop in. 5 or 6 people had big dogs with them, and they were all friendly. A lpt of friends chatting, some watching college football on the many screens. We stayed for several hours and enjoyed feeling like we were part of the neighborhood.
First trip to LA, went down to the beach for a visit and some food. This place is really good, service was excellent, plenty of room inside and out. Busy but not crazy, well priced drinks and food was really good.
Would definitely come back if I return to LA.
Today I visited your establishment with my dog and was eager for a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, my time at the bar was anything but pleasant due to the service, or lack thereof, provided by one of your waitresses.
I found myself waiting for 5 to 8 minutes before she even approached me for a drink order. Even then, it was only after I had to beckon her twice. I noticed she had an assistant, so I initially assumed she might have been preoccupied, giving her the benefit of the doubt. However, it took another 5 minutes for her to bring me a simple glass of beer, culminating in a wait of approximately 15 minutes.
I subsequently placed a food order for a Mushroom Quesadilla through her assistant, expecting a smoother service from thereon. Alas, after 20 minutes, there was no sign of my food. Meanwhile, the same waitress wouldn't even inquire if I needed anything but seemingly ignored me, and she spent considerable time chatting and laughing with other white customers just across my table.
When I inquired about my dog not being offered any water, she responded with a defensive and discourteous attitude, implying that it was my fault for not asking. This was especially distressing to me as it seemed to be a case of clear bias. The fact that other patrons, who arrived after me, received prompt service and attention only added to my concerns of potential racial prejudice.
It took an additional 10 minutes for my food to finally arrive. By this time, my appetite and mood had been thoroughly ruined by the sequence of neglect and apparent discrimination. I chose to pay for my order and leave without consuming the meal, feeling disappointed and insulted.
I understand that restaurants and bars can have busy moments, but it's crucial that all customers are treated with fairness, courtesy, and respect. I felt none of this during my visit, and it is my hope that you will address this issue seriously.
Overcharged our bill and the man serving us would benefit from training up on customer service
Everything was great except the service. I recommend you to drink a margarita, especially in the evening, accompanied by street music.
Excellent place to grab a bite while in Venice Beach. The food was excellent and the price extremely decent given the area and how turistic it is. Good food, good service, good price
You know, can’t beat it as a place to grab a drink on the Venice Ocean Front Walk. A little rough, but in all the good ways. Highly recommend.
The BEST BEACH in Southern CALIFORNIA … it is a very cool experience for anyone look to have a ON THE FLY experience.
We are from Texas and always make our way to Venice beach when in California. We are sad to see the Candle cafe closed. But The Venice Beach Bar next door is totally awesome! Pet friendly very laid back. Love it, see you again.
Great place, and sit back to chill.
Staff of great. I did try the elote, which was good.
VBB is the best! Good bartenders, great servers, chill atmosphere. No frills, just fun. Highly recommend.
WOW!
The food here is amazing we had the best burgers we have ever had and we've had alot lol seriously absolutely amazing thank you
So I would definitely recommend to anyone to come to Venice beach bar and grill you will not be disappointed
Really nice vibe at this bar, decent music, really good staff and great food. They make the Tortola chips at the bar and they are sooo good.
The prices are reasonable too, would highly recommend for anyone visiting Venice beach.
It's such an awesome spot for right on the beach. The bartenders were so friendly and made the drinks with a kick. My boyfriend drank an IPA, and I had the Tiki to Go cocktail. We then had fried pickles and mozzarella sticks as appetizers while watching a hockey game. The place had seating right outside, right across the bar, and even upstairs where we sat. All with tvs to watch but not super loud to block out conversations. I would definitely return and get a burger they looked delicious.
Place said they needed a card to open the tab, and insisted it wouldn’t be charged at all, however they drained whatever it was i had left in my account and gave me an extremely difficult time, the issue has not been resolved, also we waited for 40 minutes for our burger to come out raw
Great out door setting,
If you like people watching this is the perfect lil outdoor patio. Had a beer and it was lovely sitting in the sun
Stopped in Venice Beach Bar for the first time to try their fish tacos. They are street-sized tacos so they are small but they were tasty! M and extremely affordable. I was starving and distracted by all of the activity on the boardwalk and forgot to take a pic before I ate them. Food is good. The service is GREAT! Everyone in the place is friendly and helpful. The view is almost spectacular! Ha. It’s a great view, just a lot of people. Great place to grab a bite to eat, something cold to drink, listen to the street music and watch the sailboats go by in the background.
