The Venice Whaler reviews
14Can't get inside cause a physical ID card was needed to be kept by the staff even i did not want to buy alcohol. Ok, these are their rules, i can accept it or just not to go there, BUT I would not accept being lied. The staff at the entrance told me (as a foreigner) that it's common rule in every bar in California to keep my ID card while i'm having a dinner. NEVER LIE TO THE CUSTOMER!
They will not let you wear your skates to sit OUTSIDE, but they let dogs sit in chairs made for people. NASTY. Food is fine. Service is good. Logic is LACKING.
A must checkout place if you are in the area. Happy hour deals are amazing. Good crowd and views on the top floor. Food was tasty

Best place in Venice hands down. A little pricey for a quick meal but the portion sizes are worth it. 20 second walk to the beach so the atmosphere is great. Service is amazing, even if it's busy they still get to you in a timely manner and they'll charge your phone for you if you're on a 15 hour layover and have nowhere to go. Overall fantastic experience every time I go here.
Average place, honestly very expensive for not great drinks. I would just go if it’s convenient.
Fantastic place for drinks and decent food but the people watching make This the Place to hang out at!
Great food, ambience, service. Fantastic menu. Would highly recommend and we'll be back.
The food was ok. The view is great. Make sure to lock your doors. Witnessed a homeless man checking door handles.
You need to try the Slushy Pina Colada
Food was good and the sunset view is incredible
Service was a little bit slow and the place was half full.
Absolutely amazing food, the BEST fish chips I have EVER had - and I’m English!
The best presentation- cob, coleslaw,
The fish was thick dense but flaky!
Wow!
And the fish tacos are second to none.
Food was great. Tried my first Lobster Roll. The bar tender was very friendly. Killer views, took my breath away.
Service: The service was very attentive and friendly.
Food: good food, but not particularly noteworthy.
Atmosphere: we were outside of the restaurant, right at the entrance to the beach car park. Accordingly, many cars drove past us.
It was a bit strange that the ID card was scanned when entering.
A solid joint to experience the beach and all the surrounding nature with a nice cold drink. The staff provides a generous pour as well.
