The Village Lodge Mammoth reviews
18 Great location, although I had to switch condos once because our condo’s back door & window were blocked by 7ft of snow, would be unhappy if it was my property (fire hazard, loss of rental income)
Caution! Every visit they bill much more than you made reservations for and that you placed deposit on, which includes all fees, even after I confirm total, so to avoid interruptions prior to my arrival.
Friendly staff. Love the condos, especially due to their close proximity to the village, restuarants, shops, trolley, rentals, no car needed!
Beautiful campus located in a perfect spot. Lots of restaurants and shops easily walkable. On the shuttle line.
Rooms are amazing! Pool is pretty good. A bit cold but good.
Cozy up in front of the fireplace with some hot cocoa. This is a beautiful hotel near lots of hiking and only a few minutes from snowboarding or skiing. Our room was upgraded to a 2 bedroom. Had a kitchen and all the dishes needed.
Hotel is super nice and prime location, was very disappointed in the fact that there was construction going on underneath of our room. Went to get away for the weekend and try and sleep in. But I will say didn’t happen due to all the noise. Day on the slopes was nice
This is a nice place to stay. The rooms are great. Everything was well appointed and very pleased
Very convenient place to stay, everything is easy to walk. We were here on our way back from a backpack trip. I want to come back to do some mountain biking.
This place was great. Beautiful room, clean, and great service. Can’t beat the price we got either. We will definitely be back.
Awesome place to stay. Beautiful and super clean rooms. Staff is friendly. Make sure you get a pool side view out of the balcony. Try Toomy for food!
The front desk staff is amazing.so friendly and gave us an absolutely exceptional room.the hotel itself is exactly where you want to be in the heart of everything, you don't have to drive you can just walk. Great restaurants too!
We will definitely be back and will always stay here!
Good & Needs Improvement.
Good:
We really enjoyed our stay overall! The family loved the summer hikes and natural wonders of Mammoth at our doorstep. The Lodge is situated perfectly, amidst local shops, for ease of souvenir shopping and has the look of a quaint "Olympic Village", lined with fairy lights.
The Lodge has lovely outdoor appeal, with manicured lawns, native flower beds, outdoor fire-pits, for guests to warm hands by at night. Ping Pong tables, Corn Hole and swimming/ hot tub facilities are in the central courtyard for Lodge guests- families and children. We were outside most of our stay.
Additionally, special event are offered on weekends, like courtyard yoga and Kids Movie Night and Music Festivals.
The front desk staff at the Lodge are all friendly and very helpful! We appreciated how well informed they were on things to do off the beaten path as well as favorite destinations.
Needs Improvment:
It is better to eat outside of the Lodge's village. We had bad luck with most of the restaurants there. And the could be very long lines depending on time of week and season.
The inside of the Lodge itself looked maintained. Rooms were fairly well kept, and stocked. Services were limited for Covid safety which restricted their room cleaning to just once, between guest occupancy and that was not as thorough as one would hope. We experienced stale food behind couches. Doorways, light-switches, bedside tables were not wiped down after previous occupant. The room furnishings had also seen some wear. (Much of this may be due to tight times due to Covid).
Overall, we had a lovely time but would have liked to see cleaner rooms for that price bracket.
This lodge has the world's slowest elevators. This was certainly a poor construction choice relative to the size of the buildings. To compound the problem, the stairways only function as an exit to the building since each floor has a locked door in the stairwell that key cards wil not open. Especially in this unfortunate era of the COVID pandemic, the stairwells here should function to allow people to climb to their floor, if they desire.
I would recommend this place for few reasons, well maintained condo. Extra beds available. Located in the center of the city. Close to all the restaurants and best night life around. One to watch out for is the AC in the room. They only have a portable AC in the living room and fans in the bedrooms. If you are going in summer be prepared for the weather in the room.
It was a convenient location and somewhat spacious. But I still couldn't believe there was no AC. It was 90 degrees here and no AC. It was pretty miserable honestly. For the price you'd expect to have luxury amenities which to be should always include AC so we were extremely disappointed and most likely will not come back for this one reason. The living room furniture is extremely old and run down so it could definitely use a facelift and refresh. I think all in all if you don't mind being hot and uncomfortable then you'll be just fine but if you think you're going to escape the heat by goi6to your room, you are sadly mistaken. What a true let-down?
We booked a one bed and were upgraded to 2. The kitchen was great had all the pans and dishes we needed to save money and cook at "home". Comfy bed and living room, plus a bath and separate shower. Really easy underground parking and lovely area to walk around and get food. We were here with our two year old which was a great set up for him.
Came here with my family for some much needed vacation. My 3 bedroom suite was huge and beautiful! There was several amenities offered of course as well as a lively shopping and restaurant center surrounding us. We all had a blast and were equally dumbstruck by all the amazing views. Definitely placed on the return list!
The staff was great. The best thing about the village lodge is the location and convenience. Although the restaurants in mammoth village are ok at best, it's fun to walk around and let the kids roam. With an underground garage and easy access to most of mammoth's attractions. The rooms are old but clean. They are spacious. The laundry room saved us several times. Will definitely consider again when we come back to Mammoth.
One of my favorite places to stay. The rooms are huge with a fireplace and full kitchen! Located in the center of all the shipping and dining. My special thanks to the staff and manager. They were all exceptional and outstanding! The general manager (Chuck Donnelly) went above and beyond in making our stay one to remember. Thank you Mr. Donnelly! I would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in the area.
This resort has everything. Anywhere from restaurants, shops, pool, and close to so many hiking trails. Beautiful place to stay as well.
