The Waffle Spot reviews
12 Breakfast Burrito substituted potatoes and onions for HASH BROWN! Also requested Burrito to be toasted on the outside, was amazing!
Great people and great food for sure!
Highly recommended
Bone-in chicken, so watch out when you get your chicken and waffles or else you'll be berated by the waitress because everywhere else around town does it without the bone.
The club sandwich was good, and the strawberry waffle was very good.
The chicken sandwich was not good. It was extremely dry, no flavor what so ever, will not get again.
The first time I went there, I ordered my first waffle that wasn't an Ego Waffle, LOL, yes, it's sad but true. The waffle was great, kinda reminded me of cake with a nice crispy outer shell. It was wonderful.
But I went 2 other times after that and I ordered a side waffle and either my taste buds had changed or they changed the recipe or there's a new chef because it wasn't as tasty.
Reminds of IHOP, I used to love their pancakes but they changed the recipe and now they are just plain.
I guess if you slather them with butter and syrup, you may not notice but I'm the weird one who doesn't like much syrup on her pancakes and no syrup on my waffle if it tastes as good as they used to.
All in all, I do love their food, I love their decorations, and their staff are always friendly.
I do wish they opened in the evenings too because I sometimes like to have breakfast for dinner or I can be out all day and had missed breakfast and lunch and would have liked to have had a nice sit down breakfast.
Be careful what you order because it can be the worst and still get change for it. Also TIP is not an option is a MUST.you don't even get to see it what ever they put that's what you pay for. Just be careful. I forgot to ask if I got charge for the top water they gave my kids. Please do not order HOTCHOCOLE and I can say Sugarchocolate.my kids only took a sip and that was enough they where discuss, was Super sugary even do they thought it away 4 full cups, I still got charged for it.
Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. There is also plenty of space to park the camper while we eat.
Terrible food! I asked for over medium eggs and received over easy. Homemade biscuits & gravy, nasty! Worst tasting gravy ever. Had a chemical taste. Hasbrowns cooked on the outside, still raw inside. Cooks grill is too high. I rather eat my toe jams, then come back here.
Fast friendly local business love all the staff and owner!
***Update***
This was my go to spot. Then I moved to Texas, it's not the same without them. Not only is their food amazing, they all became like family to me! I miss them terribly. So if you're local to Madera or just passing through and want a home feel with staff and food make sure you stop and say Sam sent you!
Love Love this place, we are slowly starting to make it a usual spot.the food is great, portions are big, prices are decent, crew is A+, service is quick.
I would love to give this place a 5 star, but on our last visit. The group that was sitting behind us RUINED our meal/dining experience. The kids were screaming in my ear, they were jumping all over the place, kicking the back of my seat and the worst part, was the one kid making gagging throw up noises.turned my stomach, the moms of course, just sat there and did not put a stop to it. I understand being a "kid friendly" restaurant but it would have been nice if a manager or someone else would have brought it to their attention. In any case we left with a turned stomach, and a headache.
With all that said, I still highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be returning soon.
Nice little place. Waffles were really good and so was the coffee. My daughter had pancakes and really liked them too. Fast and friendly service and reasonably priced.
Nice welcoming local spot.
We were in town for a wedding and started our day off at this spot.
Our server was attentive, cheerful, and friendly. Her recommendations were very helpful. The food was flavorful. I ordered the Chile Verde omlett, and it did not disappoint. I don't usually order it because it's just a disappointment. My boyfriend had a stack of pancakes, sausage patty, and country potatoes and that too was delicious.
Definitely a place we would go back to when we are in town.
A+ for service. Very sweet gals serving, the restaurant is clean and welcoming. Food was OK. Chicken fried steak (chicken was not so fresh or appetizing), potatos missing some other veggie besides onion that was a little undercooked and underseasoned. Gravy was yummy! Crepes are missing a little extra something maybe cream cheese would be a great addition? Apple waffles were yummy. Definitely recommend and will return soon.
