The Westin Desert Willow Villas, Palm Desert

This hotel is fine, but overpriced. It’s not to Westin standards. Management needs to change their talk track for the $10 resort fee, be warned. They will tell you can apply it at the end of your stay and you can’t and when I chatted with management they obviously didn’t care.

Also, the service and food is mediocre at best. We waited over an hour for a salad and got served mostly lettuce. There were constantly bags of towels and dirty laundry in the halls outside of our room which was weird. Also, I ordered a small orange juice for my kid and it was $5. I won’t be back for the price they charged.

Better than we expected in overall expectations. Nearby Costco, Walmart and Ralphs was the plus. Lord's willing, we hope to stay here again in the future.

We visited in October and enjoyed this shoulder season. Not overly hot. Facility is clean. Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable. The grounds and surrounding area are nice to walk.

We have been coming here multiple times a year since it opened. Facilities are nice however the declining service and impersonal employees are always a disappointment these days. Joe is the only consistent welcome we get and the best bartender there is. Closed dining is getting VERY old. It is WAY past time to open the facilities back up and earn the 5 star rating Westin is known for.

Wonderful and relaxing stay. Lots of pool time and reading. Had a chance to connect with friends and celebrate a wedding anniversary another day. Unit had a beautiful view. Staff was helpful in amending things in the unit.

Superb resort! Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Lots to do with 4 pools, 2 water slides, tennis pickleball, billiards and more. Very highly recommend.

We had a very nice stay here. We arrived and pulled up front where we left our car while we checked in. Note that there is a $20 per car fee to park your car. The property however is enormous! There is at least 5 pools on the property plus tennis courts and a basketball court. You will need your car to get around or take one of their golf cart shuttles.

We were in building 18 near the ironside pool. It was a pretty long drive to get to the building winding through the property. We had a one bedroom with a nice view of the mountains and pool. The room was up to date and very large. We had a nice balcony off the living room. The kitchenette had everything we needed and there was even a giant dining room table. The room also has a washer and dryer so if you need to do some wash during your trip you can. They even provide soap and dryer sheets for one load. The bed is a Westin Heavenly Bed so it's going to be comfy! It's essentially a pre furnished apartment.

There is no food or drinks at some of the pools. So do yourself a favor and bring a cooler packed with your favorite beverage to drink at the pool and be sure to bring your lunch and snacks unless you are at the main pool.

Speaking of the main pool, a little strange but every few hours there is a mandatory "10 minute break" at the main pool. Upon research this was because they want to give kids (and let's be honest some adults) a break to go to the bathroom so there are no "accidents" in the pool. Also a chance to reapply sunscreen.

For dinner, we needed to either cook food in the room or at one of the many grills on site or go off site. There wasn't any restaurants open. You're only 10 mins from Palm Springs and there are many good restaurants in Palm Dessert so not a big deal but surprising.

This is a great place for families to stay. All in all we will be back.

These people win desert landscaping hands down. Great accommodation, the only thing I could think to add to the kitchen would be serving or mixing bowls. We were in Building 16 and the view of the mountains from our balcony was to.die.for.loved that the hot tub was actually hot rather than lukewarm. We even committed to coming back next year and we rarely repeat locations.

Very very hard working staff, really took the extra effort to accommodate us, ie) sourcing an Ethernet cable so I could do a zoom interview while I was on vacation.

I've stayed here many times and have always enjoyed my stay. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. My only disappointment during this stay is that the pools/bar close way too early and the on site restaurant is still not open.

You check in at 4 unpack get to the pool and everything is closed everyone who works here looks miserable. They won't all late check out you gotta leave by 10 am. They have no room service. Slides were closed at one pool. Go to a real resort, these are condos people own. This is just a apartment complex

This is our go to hotel when we come to Palm Desert. Excellent for families and couple. I just want to thank Christian A. For helping me out with my reservation yesterday. This was heaven on earth. The room was nice and comfortable. The water slide was absolutely amazing. Teared up when leaving and hope to return.

Not up to par for normal Westin properties I have been to. I was told the rooms have been renovated back in 2019 but it doesn't appear that way. Most of the furniture, walla and corners have dings. From the time I parked I knew this was not going to be the ideal experience. There cleaning cart was sitting outside my building, which is odd. Then the elevator did not look like it had been cleaned in weeks and the carpet inside.is stained and worn.simply dingy. Once in the room thw room had not been fully clean. My son found stains on the headboard. My heavenly towel had black marks on it not the thing you want to see as you put a towel on yourself coming out of a shower. The bed has dips and is not the traditional westin bed folks rave about.

Lastly, I picked this hotel.for this time due to the waterside. I knew due to covid/cholrine shortage only 1 of the 2 water slide pools were open BUT was told that my son who is over 42 inches that he would be able to go on the slide. I get here and he is not bc its 48 inches or taller. Simple accurate details would have changed my decision to come completely so I futrasted and thinking to leave early.

Told my concerns via the text concierge service and still haven't had anyone to call or check into anything.

There is a golf cart shuttle and van shuttle that takes folks around the property when needed. All of the villas have outside access and so the front door in the morning u can see that it doesn't complete block light from coming in thru the bottom which means the seals are not perfectly aligned and thus bugs could come in to. This is a concern because people put their trash outside rmthe door randomly throughout the day.

Would not stay here again and questioning the Westin brand completely.

The small 1 bedroom villa does not have a oven just for planning purposes.
