Close to the harbor, old town, public transportation, and lots of sites to visit. There's plenty of things to do to satisfy everyone's taste

Hotel was centrally located although I did find that a lot of nearby restaurants had boarded up during Covid. The room was good - loved the lavender balm amenity, lots of ports in the room to plug in as needed, green option offered on bedding, etc, and the a/c was quiet. The bar in the lobby was nice; staff was friendly. They kindly gave me silverware to take to my room as my takeout didn't have any. I did arrive before my room was ready and the front desk stated that they would notify me when it was ready. I waited for 2 hours (lobby is nicely situated for working) until I asked again. Room was ready; was not notified. Would stay here again.

I frequent San Diego for work quite often and sty at this Westin due to its location.
Overall ok hotel.
My biggest complain is that in three separate occasions I was over charged or charged excesses fees.
First occasion was at the bar I was charged for two drinks instead of one. Didn’t feel like bothering fighting for 10 dollars.
Second occasion was that I filled out the San Diego tax exempt for work and they still charged me anyways. I called multiple times and left voicemails and no one ever got back to me.
And this final occasion they billed a random Lounge/rest fee after I checked out. I know better than to eat there from my first experience. So I call them again and surprise surprise they never get back to me.
Not sure who is at there billing department as they never answer their phone.
This is gross negligence and ineptitude in their account department.
Well hope your stealing was worth it. You are now losing our work department as customers.

Well located but extremely tired hotel, in dire need of an update. Noisy air-con switches off and on far too frequently, ensuring a disturbed sleep and allowing you to zero in on the ridiculous, and seemingly endless noise made by the tram system outside (not the fault of the hotel).

To be worth the asking price, this hotel needs a serious refurb. Staff and service all very good.

We missed our flight and had to stay another night. The Westin is great, beautiful, nice location. Walking distance to a lot downtown. This is our 2nd visit to this facility. Love it!

The staff were all great. I could not say a bad thing about them. The rooms were outdated and needed a major facelift. Not only were they outdated, the were dirty. It’s clear that the cleaning from the last guest was not thorough. I had hair and small pieces of food around the room along with dusty cups in the bathroom. Not what I’d normally expect from a Westin. The gym had nice equipment, but it was filthy with dried sweat all over the machines. The outside pool on the third floor was very nice and relatively quiet. Probably the nicest part of the hotel. Overall, I’d chose another place than this…

The front desk was constantly making errors during check-in, even giving me the wrong room key which led me to enter someone else's room. She could not dissociate Huang from Hwang, and their supervisor had to come to assist me and for the third time, finally was able to get the correct key. After coming down again to discuss this with the supervisor about this mishap, he offered to waive the destination fee, offer 2 days of free continental breakfast, and offer 20,000 points to compensate for the troubles.

After giving them 2 weeks to process my points back into my account, I had to contact customer service to see what was the hold-up. Then Director of Guest Services for Westin Bayview CC'ed his associates and accused me of points gouging.

This hotel is located in a great location, the continental breakfast; however, was a huge let down, and the staff makes promises they cannot keep. I strongly do not recommend coming here.

Very nice business hotel. Bar and lounge room area welcoming. Food is served. Rooms have their heavenly beds (what Westin is known for). And though I did not use the valet, the staff were very helpful and on the move.

Special shout out to Harriet and Gage at the bar for their great service and heads up on what to do locally while we were in town! Cheers!

I recently stayed at this property and left with a body covered in 40+ bed bug bites. The hotel has been less than reasonable after the fact. Pest report confirms the room had MULTIPLE STAGES OF BED BUGS.

Only half of the hotel rooms have a bay view. The other half have a view of the office building across the street, and they are close enough to see each other. The bathroom showers leak and the water pressure is very weak. Parking is expensive at $56 for 24 hours. The breakfast menu is the same every day and the food is so-so; for the same price, you'd be better off at another hotel.

Prime location to everything downtown. You can walk or catch the bus or train to everywhere you need to go. You can walk to the ferry to go to Coronado Island. Lots of restaurants on site or walking distance.

Stayed for a concert at Chula Vista and then a Padres game the next night (about a 25 minute walk to Petco). My only minor complaint would be that the mattress topper was too soft for me. 2 days later and I'm still feeling it! Lol The complimentary water in the room was a welcome plus, as was the $10 per person food/beverage voucher. We'll definitely stay here again!

This hotels service is TERRIBLE. My wife booked a stay and in the middle of her stay, all of her belongings from her room went missing [noticed and reported around 6pm]. This included prescription medications, all her clothes, contact lenses, toiletries, makeup, prescription glasses, phone chargers, literally everything you travel with. She still had another night at the hotel without any of her belongings and the staff told her at 9pm when nothing showed up to "do what she feels like she needs to do" when she asked what she is supposed to do for the essential items that she needed for the last night of her stay [ESSENTIAL like UNDERWEAR, A TOOTHBRUSH, A PHONE CHARGER SO SHE CAN CHARGE HER PHONE TO USE HER BOARDING PASS FOR HER EARLY MORNING FLIGHT]. Then she had to book her own transportation and purchase all of the necessary items for that night on her own dime without the promise of reimbursement in order to replace items that were taken from her room by the hotel staff.

She notified the front desk immediately of her missing items and it was not handled appropriately. It took 5 days (today) for us to get any "useful" information (useful is putting it nicely) about the situation. Items have not been found and we have had to do all of the following up with the hotel with the exception of two phone calls that we received and the only reason we called as many times as we did was because we were never followed up with in the timeframe that they said. Almost every time we have been on the phone with them (from us calling them) we were told that they would get back to us within a certain timeframe and they were never timely.

They have not been helpful in resolving this issue or providing information about the next steps in the process. All we have been asking for is information. If they could have provided a plan, a timeline, and actually followed up thoroughly, we would have accepted that. They couldn't seem to do that or followup when they said that they will. Whether stolen or thrown away, we don't really care at this point, just want to know how we will get her stuff if it does turn up, how long the "investigation" would have gone on for until they decided it wouldn't be found, and to know what the reimbursement process looks like so we know how quickly we need to begin replacing some of the time-sensitive items that are missing.

Unless you want your items to not only go missing, but for a terrible investigation process as well. I DO NOT suggest that you stay here. Not sure if they are genuinely ignorant or just incompetent, but the issues we mention here were at all levels from front desk staff, security, to management, and everyone in between.

I would avoid these hotels in general because as we tried to escalate this to the corporate level in an effort to expedite this process, they just directed us back to the people that we have been discussing this with and who have not been helpful the whole time.

We finally got an update today, after making many calls and not having the staff follow-up with us and we were told that they are declaring the items missing. They have turned the information over to their insurance. Although this isn't ideal, we are fine with this resolution. It just would have been nice to have some information in the meantime instead of being ignored and not given any information for 5 days. When asked what the process going through insurance looks like, including timeline, point of contact, who the insurance company is, and when we should hear from them.guess what we were told. "We don't know". So apparently there are a lot of people who don't know how to do their jobs or at the very least provide reasonable customer service at this hotel.

It's ok. We stayed for just one night, so I didn't make too much of a fuss about what I didn't like.

Honestly, the cleanliness of the room was questionable. Although the bathroom was very clean. I hated that the bathtub had no shower curtains, just like a half glass thing that does nothing to prevent water from getting on the floor when you take a shower. The room furniture looked tired and old and the TV service was not good at all. They had basic cable, but half of the channels were not working and could not get any kids channel for my almost 5 year old. The room service food menu was very limited, especially for lunch and dinner, and it was super expensive for a subpar meal. All in all, It's ok if you just need a quick stop for a night or 2 at the max.

I will definitely think twice before returning to this Westin location.

I’m always impressed by this locations staff, rooms, and walkablity to local dining and entertainment venues. I have to say that the hotel bar closing at 10: 30 is probably my biggest disappointment about the location.
