The Yellow Chilli Tustin reviews
15 They don’t let us sit we’re we want to as they say they can’t serve till that place even though it was empty and we have right to sit wherever we want. Their food is good and one server is good but others seem as if they are doing it forcefully without a greet and no professional etiquettes which Such a big chef’s restaurant employees must have.
Door dash service they take one and half hour almost which is too long time in which one can drive and come back.
Honestly the food tasted too tangy. We ordered three different curries and all three were very tangy. The appetizers were good though. Their appetizer and naan platter is also a good deal if you go in a big group. We tried their mocktails and they were delicious.
The ambience and service is really good. The staff was super helpful and courteous
They are well informed of the dishes on the menu and guided us on the options.
Will definitely give them another chance.
Edit: the food quality has improved significantly since our last visit which was a few months ago. Loved the experience.
Everything was satisfactory, except for the behavior of the staff member who took our orders. He had a mustache and his demeanor was notably inconsistent. I observed that if a customer placed a large order, he treated them with noticeable respect and kindness. However, with smaller orders, his attitude was dismissive, almost as if the customer was a burden. This experience was off-putting. Aside from this issue, everything else was good, especially the food, which I can confidently say was excellent.
I was driving from riverside and my aunt recommended me this place.
Indian food was amazing.especially mirch pyaaz roti and paneer veggies subji. Kirti was so friendly. Served the food with happy heart and smiley face. I had Manchow soul too. Quality cud hv been little more but it was yum.one must visit this place.
We had a office team lunch in Yellow Chilli. The food was delicious and keerthy was very kind and helpul. Thank you Keerthy for your help.
Food was pretty bad for an Indian place
Oversalted and underflavorer biriyani, bland and poor chicken curry.
Service was pretty bad too, the wait to even get our order taken or some water for the table was about 20 mins
And even longer for us to get the check when we had asked already
Overall 2/5 experience and food:/
Only redeeming quality is the place looks nice
We went to this location after going to the location in Bay Area, Danville. The service and the food was horrible. The food literally seemed microwaved and we had the server come up to us twice once to take the order and the other to deliver the food to our table. The atmosphere was nice but the service and food were terrible. Do not recommend going to this location.
A perfect start and another good reason to fast for Navratri with tasty food thanks to Yellow Chilli Tustin for homely flavors of sabudana wada and upvas aloo
The chicken kebab appetizers were really good. Can't go wrong with masala papad either. Every dish we ordered was good which is not very common at most restaurants. We'll be back whenever we are in the area next time!
I originally wanted to go to Coco Ichibanya (my previous favorite curry spot), but we couldn't find parking, so we went to The District area where Yellow Chilli is.
Now, it IS pretty pricey for Indian food but IMO its worth it! Every entree is roughly ~$20, NOT including rice or naan bread, so don't expect to pay less than 30 a person overall. I will say though that the rice felt like a shareable portion, so for 2 people i would recommmend getting 1 rice and 2 garlic naan bread to go with your 2 entrees. Tried the butter chicken and tikki chicken; both amazing and it was probably the most flavorful curry i've tasted of any type (Indian, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc). The naan bread and rice was cooked perfectly too. I totally recommend trying this place at least once, even if you think it looks overpriced.
Excellent food and service in an exciting environment. Kirthana who served us today just fabulous with her attitude and service.
We went for a team lunch and had several platters and dishes family style. I was able to taste a bit of everything and it was all delicious/high quality! Tender lamb, juicy chicken dishes, great paneer, wonderful breads beyond your normal Naan, and delicious rice! My water glass never went empty, and the spices were varied throughout the dishes to a very pleasant degree!
+the food was very tasty!
-the food was expensive for how little you received. $9 for a small dish of rice is excessive. For a potato dish that cost $20, you got two meatball-sized potato 'dumplings' halved, and about 80% gravy.
-the proportions were bad. There was a ton of gravy left at the end of our meal, and nothing to eat it with despite ordering a side of rice and naan.
-the wait was excessive. I would say we were waiting around 40 minutes for our food to arrive. This might be an unusual wait time for them, but it still didn't add to our experience.
If you've got plenty of cash, time on your hands, and you're not really *that* hungry, then come on down to the Yellow Chilli!
Tried the Lazeez Murgh Tikka Masala and loved it!
Also the bread basket was great, included one amazing kind of bread with so many nuts inside!
Great food.very busy restaurant.it does take a little more time but it's worth the wait
