Tillys, Fresno CA

I purchased a pair of white slip-on Vans at Tilly's in Fashion Fair Mall in Fresno, CA. Unfortunately, the same day I bought the shoes my puppy stepped on my shoe leaving a small dark paw print mark on the top side of one shoe. I washed both shoes in the washing machine on cold and let them air-dry. When they were done drying, there were yellow stains all around the shoes. It appeared to be from the rubber or glue as it was along the rubber siding/soles of both shoes, and up the sides. The puppy paw print washed off, but something in the shoe caused them to stain yellow.

I tried to return the shoes within 2 weeks, after my vacation, and with my original receipt, in the Tilly's store in the Fashion Fair Mall and was denied a return/refund. I was given the choice to exchange the shoes, but I did not want to exchange them, as I was afraid another pair would just do the same thing. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no, again. I lost $50! It was clearly a defective product, because of the way the yellow stain pattern appeared along the rubber on the shoes. It was clear that it was not the puppy paw print, as that was gone, and the shoes were clean other than the strange yellow staining all around the lower part of the shoe canvas. I did not put them in the dryer so it couldn't have been the heat, either. I hate to leave negative reviews unless it's absolutely unfair and necessary. I'd much rather give good reviews! Beware of Tilly's shoes! I've had three pairs of white slip-on Vans, and I've never seen this before. I just don't understand it, but they should have given me a refund with my receipt and a visual inspection.

One of my favorite places to shop. They always have a great clearance rack and they have constant sales. Always a nice helpful atmosphere.

The employees went out of their way to make sure I found what I wanted, were kind, asked about my preferences and found things I might like accordingly.
