Tocaya Modern Mexican

Came from out of town to visit Venice Beach and wanted Mexican food. This place stood out to me. No regrets. The margarita tasted so fresh and the burrito was solid. I have a good feeling everything on the menu is tasty. I’d definitely come back. The restrooms are outside the restaurant. Kind of strange but works. The staff was nice and helpful. Cute ambiance.

Love this place! Food is yummy & fresh. Nice ice water with lime freely available. Chicken soup is def my favourite! Favourite place in Venice beach! Great deal for Margaritas during happy hour!

Incredible Incredible Incredible. Delicious light take on modern Mexican cuisine. Great Organic food compounded with big flavor and taste. Mucho vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. I loved it and will continue to keep supporting this food.

Tocaya Organica consistently has great tasting food and drinks. This location is on par with the other Tocaya's I've frequented. Good service as well. The street parking around the area is free, but be sure to observe the signs.

We've been up there twice, gorgeous views both times, worth the second trip. Good trail and walkway and steps all the way. Bring water. Several years ago we got to go inside the pill box and that's pretty amazing to look out from. Currently it was under construction when we were there a few weeks ago. Don't know the schedule though.

Honestly, why anyone eats the garbage along the beach when this little gem is just a couple minute walk away, is beyond me. Prices were very reasonable. Options for vegans and meat eaters alike. Everything was fresh and wonderful. Staff was patient and kind given our indecisiveness, and offered recommendations. Nice, clean place to have a bite to eat when family visits from out of town and wants to "see Venice Beach" (to each their own, just not my scene). I got the tofu burrito, family got chicken tinga burritos and cauliflower rice bowls. Guac was tasty! As was the margarita and beverage options. If you have to go to Venice or are passing through, at least check this place out. So much better than anything on the boardwalk.

Very good. Very reasonably priced. Learned here that the more you drink alcohol the higher your cancer risk. Didn't know that before.

This used to be organic? Now advertised as "natural and fresh" ingredients on thier website. I don't go anymore don't like it.

Would get again: house-made tortillas (small but good), street corn, margaritas, chicken tinga, cilantro lime rice, plantains
Things that needed more flavor: beef, guacamole, turkey picante.

We went there based on the reviews. However, we were very disappointed.

No free chips and salsa here, no refillable drinks.
Price 1 or 2. I can get more tasty Mexican food, larger quantity at half the price in 100 other places in LA.

Excellent food- very light weight but good Mexican food. I left stuffed BUT didn't feel sick. The service wasn't that great tho but the food made up for it

Had the Tacos combo with passion fruit margaritas, they were amazing. Highly recommend the street corn on the side.
Not a fan of their Chips and Salsa though.

They're pretty consistent with their food quality. I'd say it's a good value for the price, and overall tasty and healthy meal.

Placed an order with Sonia. I was looking forward to eating some delicious vegan food upon arrival they said they do not accept cash. Credit cards only. I walked 30 minutes round trip to this location something that should have been said up front when I placed the order. I then watched Sonia rudely walk away grab our to go order and throw it in the trash. Seriously. Management needs to fix the problem. 15 minute walk their 15 minute walk back that's 30 minutes of my day wasted my time should be valued as well.

Delicious and fresh. Glad we stopped here on a whim. Would definitely eat here again. Customer service was friendly as well.

Food was good as always, but the service was unacceptable. I don’t know if the cashier she was in a bad mood or have 0 expertise with customer service? At no time was she friendly or courteous, then I waited a long time for my food and in the end they were giving me someone else's food the employees at this location are rude
Would never return or recommend if I will recommend any one go to Toluca Lake location.

Good place for a bite but missing some flavor. There's no salsa on the birria tacos and they needed some pep. Ordered the question and chips and they were tasty. My friend had one of each of the others and it's like it was missing something to complete it. The margaritas were great.

Food was tasty but the service was unacceptable. I felt ridiculed mostly because it was hard to understand with the masks on. I’m a huge supporter of wearing masks! But because I couldn’t understand I was treated horrible. Asked to stand aside not realizing that they had said to order with the QR code. When she started helping someone that came in after us I pointed out we were next and was basically told to relax! We were in a hurry but fine we waited. Never an apology and made us feel it was our fault. Took 30 minutes to get 3 small meals. I tried to apologize for the misunderstanding and again was rudely talked too.
