Tokyo Central And Main, Gardena CA

This place is amazing (I actually love going to Japanese stores and shopping there) and I was able to get some amazing Katsu Don from one of the restaurants inside the place. The atmosphere is great and the people are friendly and peaceful. If you're looking for great quality food (some stuff can be a bit pricey but it's because it's imported from Japan and it is of high quality and totally worth it) this is the place to go (there are other great Japanese grocery stores to go to as well that have the same high quality foods to purchase) and I love shopping here! Great job Tokyo Central!

You walk in here and it feels like you just walked into a store in Japan.not that I've ever been to Japan, but I imagine that that is what it would be like! Haha

My wife and I live in San Fernando Valley but we drive to Gardena and Torrance once or twice a month for Japanese food supplies. We always go to this TC&M, mainly because they have a Manmoth Bakery inside. We get our bread for toasting there, also masago pan and corn and tuna pan. The market itself has one of the best and cheapest senbei selections. Plus Crystal Geyser is only 78 cents a gallon.

Inside is Teppan Tarou. This is thr Shrimp Omusoba. (soba noodles wrapped in an omelette)

TC&Main is my jam.

This Tokyo Central Market, As With the Other Tokyo Central Markets Are Of The Highest Quality Of Products, And Of Staff Members And Of Security.

Not as good of a store to visit anymore since Alex (she was the BEST cashier) is no longer working there.

Clean store, friendly staff. Really like the section on recipes to try, they have the recepies and all the ingredients you'll need in the same section makes it easy to try something new to cook.

Love this Redondo Beach Blvd.location for quick in and out. And at 6: 00pm the deli case pre_fresh made to go items are usually 30% off. It is not stock full of diverse items but has basics and a mix of hard goods. Visit the bakery the cream puff maker and japanese Bao man while you're there

Very clean and organized store. Big variety on groceries and general merchandise. Carry most of your Japanese foods and necessities.
We came to get kamaboko (Japanese style fish cake) we picked up Tempura style and Naruto. We ended up getting a few other items as well.
Smaller in size compared to the one in South Gardena off of Artesia Blvd.
However they still have quite a selection and less busy.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, plenty of parking.
Will look forward to shopping here again.

This location is much quieter and way better than the other location in Gardena (the huge Marukai building). This one has just about the same items and it is a much better experience than the competitors.

One of my "must go to" stores when I am in Gardena. Snacks and stocking stuffers this time

One of the best family markets out there, great and friendly environment, the food is great I love the steam buns right after get sum beards n papa's awesome place really good prices.

We've shopped at this location through several incarnations, New Meiji, Pacific Supermarket, and now Tokyo Central. It has many items that most Japanese people are used to having but are difficult to find elsewhere. The prices aren't bad.

Been coming here before Marukai was even a thought & believe there are some things here that Marukai doesn't have even with their bigger & wider selection. Not to mention the service is more personal especially for regulars but even those (like myself) who only are to visit when here visiting (every few years). But the mochi I think is better as well

Although the original store changed hands to this chain, the ready to go lunches are very well-made, yummy and can be a very good value. They offer free ice for things that need refrigerating like fish and other Seafood meat products Etc. There's a variety of all sorts of snacks and groceries which can keep you hypnotized and mesmerized trying to figure out what they all are and wanting to try them all!

Very broad selection. See the pics. Even smart phone cables! But SSG2Go moved a few minutes away to a new stand alone site.

My only advice would be: if you got some money to spend, then come on down!
While it may not come cheap, it's just nice to get a taste of another country's culture, via if it's mostly its pop culture and tasty food.:)

A lot of merchandise to choose from. Work around the are and the pre package sushi is fresh and good. Trust me, skeptical at first but great lunch option.

I bought Sushi lunch box but they didn't give me Soy Sauce and Wasabi. T-T
I ate only sushi without sauce. But it was good.
