Italian Restaurant Tomatina reviews
37They lost our order, so our food was a few minutes late, but they apologized profusely. Other than that, service and food were great. A little expensive for the small caraffe of wine we got, but since their food is quite reasonably priced, I guess this is where they make their money.
Good for family with a few young children though the wait can be long. Stick to piadini or pescatora.
My family and I have been coming to Tomatina for years, the food is amazing, the ambiance is great, drinks are strong, service is quick. Anytime we have a big family outing this is our go to place.
Pizza crust is great, meat pizza was the best one. The chicken pesto wasn't anything to elaborate on. A bit expensive.
Busy downtown restaurant on Park Ave serving Italian food. Soda, lemonade, and some specialty drinks have $1 refill charges. I had a calzone which was big enough to take home part of it.
Love the place they have the best pizza in the Bay Area! Get the Mediterranean salad so good too!
Very kid friendly place with a range of Italian food options. The pizza was good but my pasta was ok.
Great food. Strongly recommend the paninis. Some of the best I’ve had. A bit slow on busier days so it’s best to have some patience
Excellent Italian food! The service is usually good and the food here is great. I advise anyone to try the Garlic Rolls as they may be one of the best items on the menu and just one of the best foods in general.
This is a great Italian restaurant, and I can't say I'm displeased with the service since we were attended immediately. Food was perfect. Sauces were well seasoned and over all a great place to dine out and enjoy some good Italian cuisine.
We have been heading to Tomatina in Alameda for many years and although the food tends to be decent enough, any loyalty we had to them appears not to be reciprocated. Our loyalty card (buy 10 meals, get one pasta dish free) was filled and we were expecting to get our free pasta dish. "Sorry, we don't honor those anymore" was their answer. They wanted us to download their app and put our credit card on file with them with their new system. They said they would transfer our credits to their new app system. "Why do you need our credit card? " "Oh, we won't charge anything, it's just how the new system works". They wouldn't honor their own loyalty card, even after asking the manager twice.they couldn't do anything about it (Really? !?). Loyalty is a give and take.we gave our money and they took it.now we will take our business elsewhere. There are many very good (i.e. Better) Italian and pasta restaurants on the island (just look up Park Street a short bit). As a business, I think Tomatina could do better and I think you should look for bettter too.
If you're looking for a decent Piadini, this is your place. If you're looking for Italian food, like, real Italian food, you may want to look elsewhere.
I've been going here for along time. I love the chicken skewers, but one day a waiter brought me chicken mushrooms and bell peppers cooked in a pan, no skewers. It tasted really bad. So I called him over, (my waiter, greasy hair, and looked like he sleeps in his clothes) he comes back to say, well they were prepared exactly the same way except for we ran out of skewers. Bull, not true. After I sent it back, nobody would look at us. After an hour we got up and left. I have never done this.
Oh My Lanta the food here was delicious! We had no reservations and they accommodated a party of 13 without hesitation. We ordered 4 pizzas, meatball appetizers, garlic rolls, medetterainian salads, and a few individual dishes. Everything was a hit! My favorite was the Carne Pizza. And that salad was so refreshing. I wish I could remember our waitress name, she was amazing! Good service makes the world of a difference. Great job Tomatina!
Can be very busy and parking is difficult to find around dinner time, but food is worth it and decently priced. A personal size pizza could actually feed two people. They also allow dogs in their outside area.
Highly recommend getting the piadines here! Somehow they make them better at this location versus any other Tomatinas I've tried. It's pretty much like a hearty salad wrapped in a nice pita bread like crust, but they make the bread part right. Love that they're also dog friendly. There's a nice covered outside patio in the back with heaters. The other entrees here are also tasty, but they're quite pricey.
Horrible experience, will not be returning. Took over an hour to receive food and drinks, the service was bad, the host had a nasty attitude and was checking her phone constantly up front, we received drinks we had ordered when we were getting up to pay the check. The food was good but def not worth the wait an hassle to be sitting there for hours receiving one drink at a time. They need to get it together.
