Tom's One Hour Photo Studio & Lab reviews
13 Tom is our must go to guy for family photos. His wife Lisa is also awesome. This is a cash only establishment.
The cool thing about this place is you can get your photos taken and also get prints done. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a cool throwback photo experience.
Fantastic experience! It was our five year wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something fun and memorable. They are very friendly, and make sure to help you look good in your photos. Tom has an eye, and talent, for helping pose for the photos and seems to enjoy his job a lot! Absolutely stoked that we made the drive down from Santa Barbara for this.
Came here for my girlfriends birthday as a surprise to take some pictures together. Scheduled an appointment for 12: 40 because I was told they had no other available times and would be to busy for walkins, arrived at 12: 40 and there were 2 other couples also there waiting take pictures. Again this was my girlfriends birthday and we were on a schedule for time as we had other things to get to, we ended up having to sit and wait there for 30 minutes as the other 2 couples got their shoots done which is fine in the grand scheme just frustrating to know walk ins are in fact just fine and there’s really no point in making an appointment if you can’t even be seen until 30 minutes afterwards. With that said we loved our photos albeit just a touch pricey at $75 to get the shoot done, a flash drive they pretty much make you buy, and 8 prints. I’d return here on a day we were less pressed for time and I’m sure we’d enjoy it even more.
Great service. I dropped off some rolls of film and they got the images scanned to me within a few days. They were also very responsive to some questions I had and were professional. Thank you.
Had the best experience! Very fast and Tom gives a lot of direction but you can always ask him to do whatever poses you feel most comfortable. He’s very humorous and makes a lot of sarcastic jokes which might be interpreted as “rudeness” as some other people are referring to in their reviews but my friends and I found him so funny and easy to work with. Don’t let the bad reviews deter you—Tom and his wife were very sweet and helpful!
Super earnest and charming photo shop! I came here with my four friends and Tom was an absolute master at work, effortlessly posing us in an array of fun, interesting, and nostalgic ways. We had a blast and were done within 30 minutes. Would highly recommend:)
Tom and his wife are very friendly! We loved a true one of a kind LA experience. Make sure to get a keychain:)
Had a truly remarkable encounter. I was afraid that my year-old turtles would be too much to manage when I brought them in for pictures. Tom was understanding and prepared to adapt to the situation despite the fact that they weren't acting very well. I received absolutely beautiful photos of myself and my cherished pets from Tom, which I will treasure always. I'm definitely going to visit again.
He was extremely rude and would criticize us and made us feel uncomfortable and rushed the entire process. Do not recommend:/
The photographer was super rude and would make really mean comments about my friend and I. Definitely dont recommend to anyone
So much joy! We went here for a birthday studio session and were surprised and delighted by the kindness, professionalism, and humor of this whole experience! The vintage photos were the cherry on top. 11/10 recommended!
I usually don't write reviews, but I just had such a terrible experience here lol. Had high expectations, but Tom (the photographer) was very rude. He made very rude comments about my eyes, telling me I look better when I don't smile because my eyes get "too small". The photos ended up terrible because I didn't get to genuinely smile in any of them, and at the end of the day, Tom refused to give me and my friends the agency to feel and be as we were. We very much felt like props. Yes it's cheap, but that's because the photos can be recreated with any other older DSLR + editing software. I'm sure my experience may just be an outlier out of the many good reviews, but it pains me to feel critiqued about my appearance in such rude ways when all my friends and I wanted were some nice photos of us smiling, as we want to smile. I didn't sign up for some random old guy to tell me how I look best or not.
The photos we took did not develop properly — we bought a flash drive and every single picture is either blurry, cut off, or just a gray screen. The guy also made weird comments about my girlfriend and I. He kept posing us like we were friends, and even after we told him repeatedly that we were a couple, he kept saying “friends” and wouldn’t pose us like the straight couples we saw on tik tok.
