Tony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Slice House reviews
17Great price and generous sized servings/slices. Gluten free pizza was tasty and was put in a separate box which was nice.
I grade pizza by how salty it makes you feel afterwards. I bought 2 meat slices which were good. Then I drank 2 16 oz bottles of water and still had the thirsty feeling. If you enjoy salt then this pizza slice is right up your alley.
Pizza showed up freezing cold on a bike with no insulated bag, no utensils or plates like requested, and the pie looked like the biker hit every pothole on the way over. Major shame considering the pie looked half decent. No one picked up at the store despite three calls, even though they don't close for an hour. Also, fresh pizzas don't break apart like that. This was cut when it was already cold.
Great Tri-state slices, but still not the same experience without a side of NYC attitude.
Spent a year slappin' out pizza's at a Long Island Pizzeria.
Tony's has spot on crust that folds in half perfect - so you can eat on the go.
Tony's has thier red sauce dialed in, cheese and they have thier dough proofing that I could close my eye's and wouldn't know that I wasn't eating a slice in the Tri-state area (If you know you know).
We actually popped in during a break at Washington square while ona Segway tour with the San Francisco Segway Tours - Electric Tour Company.
Perhaps it was because the pizza was reheated but I didn't think it was anything special.
Crust was overly crispy and some part of my 4 cheese were also too crispy.
Cali Veggie was better but I wouldn't put it in my top 10 I've ever eaten.
That said I've had many real pizzas both in and out of Italy and am fairly critical of my European cuisine but I had heard so many things about this pizza place, I was dissapointed it could not live up to the hype
The Slice House is so convenient! Great pizza by the slice choices.about 9 different slice flavors to think about. Amazing HUGE slices of pizza!
Got there late.they have a walk up spot attached to it. "Slice House" had a couple slices in no time!
Excellent, huge slices, (2 & a drink) under $20
Waited 30 minutes after they told me my order was almost ready they gave me a cold pizza that was so dry we could barely swallow it and the service was horrible
I can’t write this review fast enough. I believe I actually previously reviewed my dine in experience here 5 stars, but I made the mistake of trying take out this time and they ruined my whole night. Ordered one pizza and 2 salads for $80 with no complaint because based on my dine in experience I thought it would be worth it. The guy told me it should only be a few mins wait because the pizza was already ready. 30 mins later and I’m STILL standing on the curb even after checking in twice. It seems everyone out there was having a similar experience with some people saying they were told it was almost ready 45 mins ago. When they finally call my number, it turns out the pizza had literally been sitting on the counter the entire time and was ICE COLD and dry by that point. Should have just asked for my money back but was starving and thought it couldn’t be that bad if I just reheat it. On top of that, the lady had a huge attitude when I simply asked her for some paper plates and forks. She actually handed me ONE single plastic plate and huffed when I asked for a few more… pretty ridiculous given I ordered $80 worth of food and was standing there with 5 people. I already had very low expectations given the pizza had been sitting there that entire time, but it didn’t even meet those expectations. Was so dry and hard it was inedible my kids couldn’t even chew it. Was probably the worst pizza I ever had - I was literally in disbelief of how bad it was given it was their award winning “New Yorker” which I remembered being pretty good during my dine in experience. Had to literally apologize to my family for bringing them there and telling them it would be the best pizza in the city. Just unbelievable how bad this experience was.
My absolute favorite pizza joint in the bay. So delicious! I love the white 4 cheese pizza the most. But everything I've tried is good. I've never had a bad meal here. Any time I go to North Beach I have to grab at least one slice of Tony's while I'm there
Had a slice of the veggie pizza. Delicious. Nice thin crispy crust. $7 but massive slices. Don't forget a napkin as it's a bit messy like any good pizza.
They have best pizza in North Beach. You have the option to dine in or go next door where they sale pizza slices and whole pizza to go. Had a small pepperoni to go it was delicious.
One of the best pizzas I’ve tried! Really nice choice of ingredients, very fresh and very tasty! I chose a tomato spice pizza with bacon, pineapple and Parmesan on top, it was divine!
We didn't have time to dine in. We did by the slices. Pizza was good. The dine in looked really good going to try that next time
Awful customer service, disappointing sandwiches (I know, it's a pizza spot; but they should just take the sandwiches off the menu). Ordered the Italian Beef, dipped, and expected it to be juicy. It was dry as a bone and they gave me a tiny cup of au jus. Asked for two more cups to even approach a true dipped Italian Beef. $17 for this!
Pizza is fine, worth it for a very occasional lunch visit. Whether the slice deserves the near $2 premium over other notable North Beach slices is up to you.
Whenever we're in North Beach this is the spot we go! Good variety of slices, calzones, and strombolis. The New Yorker pie is the one of the best pizzas I've had! Go eat in the park just across the way
Seriously the best pizza I had in a long time. The crust was also the best. I had the Belts Monster Meat. Not too expensive either.
