Tony's Fresh Mexican Food reviews
17This place is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the area. They have a drive-thru, in-store dining, or orders to go. The food is always fresh and the service is great!
Drive thru busy. Inside was empty.many choices of where to sit. Friendly service fresh salsa bar. Soda machine available to self serve. Restroom is clean but around the back outside. Great choice
Absolutely horrible
It says fresh in the name and 24 hours but 3 am you can only get rolled tacos and carne asada fries cause they are cleaning the kitchen
I asked for no pick as I’m allergic to tomatoes and rice and beans on the side
They. Put pico and the rice and beans in the fries I ask them to fix it and repeat rice and beans on the side once again rice and beans is inside and they look at me as if I’m crazy for being frustrated that they messed it up AGAIN if I’m spending $18 on carne asada fries I’d hope to be able to get my order right
Carne asap is under cooked as well as the soggy as heck fries
Don’t go here if you can help it or make sure your order is right and if not make them fix it till it is I was to tired from a long night at work to make to have it fixed and don’t wanna eat the food I spent my hard earned money on they don’t care about the customer
If you think this place is good, please try a few other spots and then come back. Soggy fries and what is with their salsa roja. Never had it taste of black pepper before.
Burrito and asada fries were subpar even though I hadn't eaten in 22 hours. Would probably be disgusting if I wasn't so terribly hungry. Also, the drive thru is awkward because they hand you your order through the passenger window.
Legitimately so overpriced for some of the worst Mexican food in San Diego. Ordered two burritos (one a combo) and carne asada fries for almost $50. And at the end, they forgot part of our order and have terrible service. Unfortunate as it’s super convenient but not worth 12+ on each entree that they may or may not provide you.
Seriously don’t bother coming here. Usually never write bad reviews bc i get it, I've worked in restaurants, but after my last experience here, i want to warn others to Go spend your money elsewhere. Or even starve. I’ve come here a few times now and sadly it's always my last option due to proximity. Both cooks and cashier have the worst customer service.hire people who will be kind to their customers, So rude and for no reason. Not the way to treat customers.can’t even get your own salsa.
It is what it is, so expect what you expect. It is good as good can be. It is open 24h, so.a savior for those late drunky nights!
Really lackluster food. We ordered the grande achiote chicken burrito and a fish bowl last night and it totaled to around $25 and it felt overpriced for really underwhelming food.
The achiote chicken burrito felt small for the grande and the distribution of chicken, rice, and refried beans was bad: chicken mainly at one polar end and rice and beans at the other. The chicken was salty and not very flavorful, unfortunately, tasting worse than El Pollo Loco. The refried beans and rice also weren't as good as a lot of there Mexican restaurants in the area. I've also ordered "grande" burritos at several other places and they were all heftier, about the size of my forearm, for the price. The grande at Tony's felt like a standard size burrito.
The fish bowl was more like a salad with "grilled" (more like pan seared) fish on top. It really lacked texture, consisting mainly of lettuce and was not as good as even bowls at Rubio's. It just wasn't filling for the price.
Great place great food, love their chicken flautas are the best. Also the California burrito, carne asada is real good.
Love this place
Good California burrito, lots of cheddar cheese in it on my first visit here. Subsequent visits the quality of the food had gone down significantly.
Food was ok. Drive thru service was not so good. They forgot to put a fork and napkins in the bag with my carne asada chips and they would have let me drive off without salsa if I didn’t check the bag first.by the time I got to my destination was when I realized they didn’t put napkins and a fork and I was not planning to waste my time driving back.they really need to be better about that especially if it’s drive thru people don’t want to be having to drive back for a fork
Good food but they charge an arm and a leg for the tiny version of a normal burrito. Weird to have 2 sizes of same burrito.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed some of the best tacos we have ever had. Cathy mixed the salsa together and it was amazing. Love you Cathy!
Got food poisoning here on Tuesday morning around 2am. Didnt happen until it was finally more digested halfway through the day on tuesday.
The next two days I could barely eat with stomach pains and constant toilet runs. Not saying it's all bad, but I won't be going back due to this experience with the carnitas/ enchiladas I had.
We had the torta cubana it was delicious, not greasy. Comes with fries, which were very fresh, not greasy or salty and home made carrots and jalapeno were the perfect side.
We tried the achote burrito an dit was super good too, nice flavored chicken not dry.
Guy at the drive thru was super friendly. Salsas were on point.
I would think I would get quality food, because of the price but instead I get the saltiest burritos I ever tasted in my life
