Torrey Pines Beach Parking reviews
16Large lot at the bottom of Torrey Pines State Park. The wait to get in can take awhile on busy days. Great restrooms with wash sinks and sand shower. Friendly park staff.
The view is gorgeous. Unfortunately, pet dogs not allowed. So we have to go to another place.
One of my favorite places in San Diego County. Beautiful beach, lots of fun rocks and cool shells. Great hikes and informative guides!
You have to get there early in the day to park up at the visitor center. Parking in the lower lot means you have to walk up the hill to the visitor center and trail heads. It can be somewhat challenging if you are not in shape or fairly mobile.
Sleazy and ableist employees enforcing ridiculous parking fees on disabled people here. I came to Torrey Pines beach with someone who was disabled. The south parking lot did not have an accessible route to the beach at all. I discovered this only after paying for parking at the machine.
One of the beach/park staff told me to drive to the north parking lot instead and show them my south parking pass and they should let me park at no extra cost. They refused to acknowledge my pass and made me pay another $25 to get in. A ranger cop had to ask them to reimburse me, in which they obliged and said they would mail me a check in “4-6 weeks” even though I paid them with card. It’s 2 months later and no check in the mail.
Please just go to Del Mar beach down the street instead - it’s far more accessible and you won’t have to deal with ableist employees.
Torrey Pines and the surrounding trails are just amazing. The beach parking was large and easily accessible, although busy.
What a beautiful place to watch the sun set. According to the sign you must enter the lot by 5 pm but I saw many cars come after 6 pm
It is free to park along the ocean, but they fill up by 10AM in most days. There are two pay parking lots, one by the beach and another near the lagoon. The price is variable depending on weekday or weekend. There are the pay machines if there is no attendance at the kiosk. Currently, the parking fee is collected by a private parking company (LAZ) and they will ticket if you don't have the sticker display on the dash board. Also there is no dog allowed inside the park or along the ocean, park range does enforce this rule.
Best place in San Diego! The sunset is amazing. Lived here for about 2 years and moved to Seattle, came back to this place again just for the sunset!
This is a much awaited hike and we are not disappointed. Found volunteers who are cleaning the area. Good thing there are rest rooms along the way. The beach is nearby and we even had a chance to see dolphins playing in the waves.
Did the walk instead of the beach to get some exercise. Free parking is hard to come by. If you choose to go inside the state run parking, it's $25 per car. If you are a veteran or disabled and have your state parks entrance card (you get that free too in other parks), you get in for free! They also have restrooms in the state parking side.
A gem of a State reserve with a number of nice trails. The cliffs are home to peregrine falcons. Ospreys are also seen. Weekends can be very busy, but ample parking for a fee. A lovely beach. A wonderful lagoon to view but not to enter as the habitat is protected. Home to threatened least terns.
$20 to get in, then the park is yours. The parking lot was pretty full, so get there early. Spaces weren't one of those where the spaces are painted super small. I was approached by a parking enforcer/park ranger and was treated very respectfully. It was a nice change from the typical LE personnel interaction. Plus she was cute too.
Great parking for quick access to the parks trails. Many people walk from outside park due to the current $20 fee. Portable bathrooms and sinks. Always feels good to participate in the California State Park system.
Fantastic place for hiking, beach going, exploring, and discovering the wide variety of plant and animal life of the area. Changing rooms and restrooms available. Plenty of areas for sightseeing. Beautiful beach along the cliffs.
